The guide also points out that airline ticket holders for a bankrupt airline are unsecured creditors, so are the last to get a crack at the airline's assets after all other creditors are fully paid-off (and there's never enough money to pay them all off, it seems).Yes, but only other USA-based airlines flying exactly the same routes (which there aren't in many cases), only if space is available (which it probably won't be in many cases), and only until 18 November 2005. ... There's no guarantee there will be any space available on another airline, especially since an airline faced with the prospect of having to transport a bankrupt airline's passengers for US$50 each would have a strong reason to lower its prices to fill those seats with its own passengers for US$51 each.If a bankrupt airline in the USA goes out of business, will other airlines have to honor their tickets?

Even if other carriers honor the tickets we might not get a flight for a week. oh well be happy If the pilots strike I don't think Delta will be around to fly on .
