Am I understanding this correctly? I assume I have to pay $95 fee everytime I made a reservation. Do I have to pay the fee again if we switch the resorts at 7 months?

You only pay the $95 if you reserve something outside of DVC with your DCV points. And if you change the reservation before you go, you pay the fee again. It does not apply to reservations for DVC resorts booked with DVC points.

If you are RCI booking a DVC resort, you pay $95 to Disney for the transfer fee.

Oh, thanks a lot for the clarification.

Just to clarify, as I don't see any DVC resorts listed in your sig...if you are a DVC member, you may book at any DVC resort* on points without paying a fee.

If you are not a DVC member, and are looking at renting a reservation (say from ebay or craigslist) and it states there is a $95 transaction fee, this is likely a non-Member trying to sell an RCI trade reservation. That is against RCI rules. If that is the case, run away from that reservation as fast as you can. It could be canceled out from under you by RCI or Disney...RCI trades are not allowed to be rented.

If you are a DVC member and wish to use your points for RCI, cruises, non-DVC Disney resorts, Adventures by Disney, or any other non-DVC location, there is a $95 fee.

*Aulani DVC in Hawai'i will add an additional state occupancy tax at check-in.
