..

I'm sorry C.Ann, and you are so very right. Each day, each moment could very well be the last.

I so agree with you. Every year at Christmas for the past 50 years we went to my late mother's best friend's home for Christmas Eve.

We had an ice storm last Christmas so we cancelled. My sister and I kept saying that we were going to go take her to lunch and give her the presents from Christmas.

She went in the hospital for a minor lung test (might be the same type your loved one had) and died very unexpectedly.

She didn't live more than 2 miles from my home. I passed her street all of the time. I had stopped in many times over the years, but just hadn't gotten around right after Christmas.

She lived on a street with a Christmas name. I know that I will think of her every Christmas Eve for the rest of my life.

On a more positive note:

A dear friend who is almost 80 and on oxygen had to evacuate from New Orleans to Dallas in August. It has been very, very hard on her. The area that she lived in was one of the worst to be flooded.

I don't know why but I just decided last weekend that I had to go see her, so I got in my car and drove to Dallas to take her to lunch.

I'm also going to go back to Dallas for Christmas. I hope she will be around a lot longer, but I am making a big effort to keep in touch.

I know how this feels all too well. You really never know. Thank you for posting this C.Ann.

So many times people put things off - thinking there's all the time in the world.. There isn't.. All we really have is the very moment that we're living in..

They say, "Live every day like it's your last".. Maybe we should..

That is a very good reminder. Thank you.

{{{Hugs}}}, C. Ann. I'm sending good thoughts for your SIL and his family.

How is she doing? Is Dallas working out OK for her?

C.Ann, thanks for the reminder. I have an aunt who's not in the beat of healthy and lives a long drive away. But I just need to get out there.

Sorry to read this C. Ann......I do believe in the words "live each day as if it is your last" after my husband was quite ill last year. That is how we live our lives now....Never put anything off as you never know what is around the corner.

Thanks for asking. I can really see her health declining. She is staying with a son and his family in Frisco.

She is the type of person who never wants to be in the way. She is so afraid that she is a bother to them, but they love her dearly and want her to stay. I'm glad that she is getting to spend the time with her grandchildren.

I took her to do the paperwork in Dallas for a new car. I don't think she will drive it much, but that will give her some feeling of independence. I was really hoping that she would come back to LR with me for a few days, but she wouldn't do it.

We should all live our lives as each day is our last day. There's no going back. There's no "do overs" in life.

I'm sorry that this nice woman has now passed away.

Katholyn

I'm sorry to hear this. Prayers & pixie dust go out to you & your family.
