91 year old with limited mobility

I have been to castaway cay before. I know that there is a walk to the tram. my dad loves castaway Cay but I think the walk to the tram may be too much for him. is there an alternative?

I'd look into a rental wheelchair for the trip, probably. The ship does have wheelchairs (not for rent or full time use onboard), but once on the tram, he'd still have to walk after getting off to wherever he wants to go.

There are beach wheelchairs available, but I'm not sure they have them at the ship.

let the crew know when you go to disembark. they will have one of the golf carts come up to the exit of the ship and pick your party up then take you to the tram stop. we needed to do this for a friends elderly mother and there was no issues.
i believe you may be able to arrange this at guest services before cc as well but not totally sure.

It is wonderful that you are bringing your Dad. I am bringing my own Dad, who will be 85, and, although it makes some things a little more difficult, it means a lot to me. It's important for my sisters and I to have him be part of our vacations as long as he is able to. And it just feels nice to read other people be so generous and considerate towards elderly parents.

To your question, Brevard Medical Equipment charges $100 for a collapsible wheelchair rental for 7 days, less for fewer days. There may also be a fee for delivery to the port, I am currently looking into that. That's what I'll do to solve the problem, also just walking the length of the ship and back repeatedly would be a challenge for him.

We brought our 83 year old disabled dad along as well on the Fantasy last year. He used his own foldable transport/wheelchair and a scooter which we rented from Special Needs at Sea. This worked out great for him.
