$900 AA gift card w/purchase or add-on

I just got an e-mail from Disney Visa saying if you purchase DVC or add-on they will give you a $900 gift card for American Airlines.

I have several questions about this, but my guide isn't in his office right now. IF we can combine this offer with the member tour incentives at BLT and IF we can get the same use year we already have and IF we can get 2009 points as well as 2010 I will be VERY tempted to do this. Especially if we really do get a $900 gift card for adding 50 points.

I got that e-mail too....then I looked at AA's flight prices from our airport. I can't stomach a $450 RT ticket when I can fly Delta for $250 or AirTran for $200.

It also said in the e-mail that the $900 is the starting value of the gift card. The actual amount is determined by how many points you purchase. I wonder what the max is?

What are the member incentives with the BLT tour? We'll be at WDW at the end of the month. I'm kicking around an add-on, and a really really really good deal might make me actually do it.

I got it as well. When I clicked on the link, and read the fine print, it said for current members adding on with at least 50 points.

Now, I don't know if that means that with 50 points you get the full $900 or not, but if so, that would be an awesome deal as it amounts to about $18.00 off.

I am still investigating and trying to convince DH that we should do it. If I do it this month, since I have June UY, I would get 2009 points, which would make it a really great deal!!!

We are December UY, so hopefully we would get 2009 points..
We will be at WDW the first 2 weeks of June, so we were planning to do the BLT tour then. It looks like maybe $10 off per point for the tour? I wouldn't add more than 50. The e-mail sounds as though you get the $900 gift card for adding on 50 points (gift card is valued at AT LEAST $900, and it increases if you buy or add more than the minimums), but it also says it can not be combined with any other offer. We shall see.

Airfare from DFW to MCO was STEEP this year - $1100 for the 3 of us to go round trip. So we booked on AirTran. But if we had a $900 gift card all 3 of us could fly for less than the price of ONE ticket next year.

Oh, it also says you must make 7 payments (if financed) before you get the card.

I am not sure I want a $900 gift card if I have to pay $112 a point for an AKV add-on. But I might!

It's funny that I am REALLY begging the DH for a 50-pt add-on at HHI for Mother's Day (It will never happen) and now this comes out. It doesn't mention if the add-on has to be at a specific resort or not. I know that the incentives generally do not include the older resorts, but the fine print makes no mention of exclusions. IF HHI were included, that would be an interesting bargaining chip for me....DH could use the gift card to fly out west or down south for the hunting trip he is dreaming about.

The only thing that I read that leads me to believe it is for the newer resorts is it mentions contracts starting at $6000 for 50 points, which is $120 per point (the price of the newer ones).

I am still trying to convince DH as we really don't need 50 points, but only 25 and I am hopeful that by the weekend I will be adding on another 25!!

With the Disney Visa allowing me to get 6 months, 0% interest on the entire purchase, this will be great. I can get it now and don't have to pay the money until December. My CC statement just closed today so the clock won't begin to start until June!!

We'll be doing HHI add-on soon, DH called to check into it, unfortunately this doesn't apply to HHI ( which is presently $80 per pt w/25pt min add-on ); would have been amazing if it did.
