Can you make PS for CRT and Chef Mickey, even if you do not have a confirmed reservation at a resort yet? We are still in the planning stages of exactly which days we will be going but I'm narrowed it down so that I can make some PSs.

Not sure about making PS's without conformation number but here is the PS Calculater site. Just type in the day you want to go and it will tell you when to call.

You can certainly make a PS without a confirmed resort reservation - many people who live nearby to WDW make them all the time w/o a resort reservation as well as the people who are staying offsite.

You don't have to stay at Disney, or even in a hotel, to make a PS. Those who live in Orlando eat there, as well, and make PS. We aren't staying anywhere for a couple of our PS this trip.
