We are flying Allegiant into Clearwater/St. Petersburg, renting a car for the day and driving to Orlando. Well, I was looking at car rentals on Priceline and I see $40, $60, $9... What!!?!? $9 for a one way rental from National! Of course I snagged it but am I in for a worser fate when I show up to claim that car? Are thy going to laugh me right out of the airline terminal? Why would they even offer something that low?

For our return flight out of Orlando Sanford, I got a car for $40, not bad but not $9. All in all $50 for round trip transportation is much better than the $200 I was planning on paying for car service.

I booked a minivan from Enterprise out of Clearwater/St. Pete for $9 a day too. I booked it several weeks ago, so maybe there's just a price war going on for that airport. I was really excited when I found that price. :thumbsup2

Maybe repositioning some vehicles? How much were the taxes and fees for the total rental?
A contract is a contract, did you need a rental back, was the rate similar? Any reason St. Pete instead of Sanford?

I thought it might be for the repositioning purpose. We are picking the car up in St. Pete and dropping it in Sanford. The Allegiant flying schedules really dictated that we needed to use the two airports.

We have the minivan for 8 days. Total with taxes and fees is $112.74.

We just had an SUV for $11 a day from Orlando, total with taxes and fees was $126.

kydisneyfans.... did you get that rate for Enterprise also or some other company? What ID and Coupon code did you use, if you don't mind sharing. Thank you

Just my luck, no $10 - $12 per day prices for me on Priceline for my dates! I'll keep looking though because I didn't know they had something other than "Name Your Own Price" on their site.

we lucked out with one of those repositioning fares after our cruise last spring, MIA to MCO for the remaining 4 days of our vacation for $1/day. Total came to $42 for the 4 1/2 days with taxes and fees.
Just luck of the draw if they need cars moved where you are going, you may get a lucky break on the rate.

I just turned in a Alamo rental car and the girl checking me in could not believe I paid $7.99 a day for my rental.

How were you able to use the AAA code with Priceline? :goodvibes
When priceline brought me to the Hertz page to book I entered the AAA code and it dropped even lower :)

Thing is now looking at it I think it is going to be too small. The economy car 2 adults two kids and two larger suitcases ? I don't think we can pull it off

I paid 21 with dollar last year for a one way rental! Don't forget to purchase the sun-pass for tolls

I've been reading about this and people say they way over charge you for the Sun pass. I heard it is about 3.00 and they are charging like 13.00 for it

Or just bring a roll of quarters and pay at the toll booths. Better yet, just stay off the toll roads, you can travel from PIE to WDW to SFB using I-4

There are several cashless tolls to watch for and if you don't have the surpass they will bill the rental company and you will pay the fees through rental company.
