Wednesday - Animal Kingdom. Only park we hadn't been to before. Hit Safaris right away as recommended here....strongly recommend it be done this way. We enjoyed the park and the animals, but it was very hot. The Kali River Rapids really helped beat the heat (and don't forget the fast passes). We left AK about 3 after having seen everything except a Bug's Life (we live in CA and have it at California Adventure). We went to Dixie Landings to do laundry and swim. Pools were cleared as I was finishing folding laundry due to approaching T storms. I had heard someone talking about Godfather's Pizza (a mainstay from my high school days). We don't have Godfather's where we live...so I looked in a phone book and checked a map and we set out for the closest one. This was the only time we left WDW during our stay. We got there and it was in a gas station, not what I had planned for dinner! We stopped at another restaurant. After dinner we did mini-golf at Fantasia gardens. We could hear and see some of the Illuminations and Fantasmic Fireworks and Shows. It was a great night and a cool golf course!!

Thursday - we slept in and hit DD for shopping. We rented 2 watermouse boats because the boys had been bugging us all trip. Then DQ again for awhile, it was much less crowded then before. For dinner we did the Fantasmic Dinner package at Mama Melrose. Good food and a great idea...highly recommend it. It was Tstorming as we arrived and people were crowding in looking for dinner, but they were completely booked and turning people away. We arrived right at 8:30 for our seats, and were seated in the section more toward the middle. Good seats, we could see everything,. The only way I could see people being disappointed is if they arrived late and ended up at the very end.

Friday - our last day. Hig MK again. Did Frontierland, Liberty Square, and Fantasyland. The only day I didn't carry disposable rain ponchos. We were on Tom Sawyer Island and it really began to blow. We headed to the dock and as we arrived, a CM was yelling for everyone to evacuate the island. Under the cover, waiting for the raft, it began to pour. They quit running the rafts for about 15 minutes. But when it didn't let up, they started loading people on the rafts again, we had not choice but to ride across the river as it poured. Talk about an adventure. We then waited under cover on the other side with a group of other people for it to let up a bit. Shopped down Main St, then hit DD to pick something up at one store. Returned to our room, did final bit of laundry before the cruise and swam. When I went to get clothes out of dryer, they weren't dry. Dryers only run 30 minutes at PO as oppossed to 60 minutes at Dixie Landings for same price. Ate pizza at food court and spent night packing.

We had a fabulous time, despite the heat, humidity, and Tstorms!! There were crowds, but if you read tips on this board and use the fp, and remain FLEXIBLE, it's not much of problem. The longest we waited in any park was 30 minutes for the tomorrowland speedway.
We then embarked on our 7 day Disney Magic cruise before returning home!!!

I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip. I believe you are right..being flexable is the only way to go! Thanks for sharing your memories with us.
