9 day tickets now or wait for AP?

We have a 9 night stay booked for end of Jan 21. Our original plan was to buy DVC Gold APs for immediate family and make a return trip in early December 21. Since they are not selling APs do you think I should buy 9 day tickets now to make sure I can get the parks reserved or should I wait awhile and see if they start selling APs again? I don't think parks way out in January will be booking up any time soon?
