9/7/06 10 night Wonder Southern Caribbean "Cruising in WONDERland!"

We spent the afternoon at Disneyland yesterday and it was WONDERful!... not too crowded, nor too hot. Perfect...

We had waited for our DSIL to arrive from Iraq before going to see Pirates 2 and riding the new Pirate ride at Disneyland... so Thursday we went to see the movie... it was of course, GREAT, ...yesterday was our Pirate ride debut... all I can say is WOW... I loved it. The Davy Jones mist thing was GREAT, fantastic, and freaky! I loved it!...
For those of you that have yet to experience it... you will totally love it.

Sounds like you had a great time. We saw POC2 also. We loved it. All of my children were enthralled from beginning to end.

We went to DL with "Diznylnd" and her DD last Wednesday and had to go POTC twice. One time was not enough to see all the changes.

I have to agree with Sandy and say WOW!!! Definatley a must see....Two Thumbs Up

POC2? I've seen it 5 times. And I have been on the new ride 3 times.

Stepht5 - I tried to get him to do that but he is just not interested. Thanks, though. I hope he will join in with the other teens once we get on the ship.

for those asking if anyone is dressing pirate...
YES... our whole family is totally into it, we love dressing up... I think that is one of the reasons we love Disney so much... we get to have too much fun and dress up too.

They just wore t-shirts, and added a few other emblishments to their faces or heads.. tatoos, mustaches, hooks... etc...
This time they have hats, wigs, clothes... Captain Jack Sparrow like. And they are practicing their Arrrrrrghs.

AND... I'm hoping that everyone that is dressed pirate will gather together in front of Tritions AFTER the Early dinner, BEFORE the late dinner (that way everyone will be THERE) and pose for a MASS Pirate picture like these folks. I'll ask the ships photographer to take the picture so that everyone can get one before we leave the ship.

All of mine are different lengths. <gg> The pockets are approx 7 - 8 inches across and the same deep. they range from 2 - 4 pockets. Depending on the number of people in a room.

We are a family of five going on the Disney Wonder 9-7-06!

Cathi and Jeff- celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary
Alassia-- 6 years old
Zachary-- 4 years old
Victoria-- 1 year old, turning 2 on the cruise (on the 16th)!!!

We have 2 staterooms- currently unassigned, hoping for the best!

Cathi, it sounds like we have a lot in common. My DW Staci and myself (Tracey) will be celebrating our 10th anniversary on Sept 28. The cruise is to celebrate. We also have 3 little ones.
Brody -- turning 5 on the cruise
Kade -- 3 years old, will be 4 in January
Blaine -- 1 year old, turning 2 in October.

However, Blaine will be staying at home with Grandma and Grandpa. We decided not to foot the bill for the extra room. Figured he'll be too young to remember. So, he won't hate us for it when he is a teenager.

Thank you for saying so.. I had trouble convincing them to dress up, but once they were dressed, they had a blast... they couldn't stop saying ARRRGH... and hooking everyone with their hooks.
Those shirts were purchased THAT day in Puerta Vallarta (we were on the Mexican Riviera cruise)... they are NOT as cool as the Disney shirts that are available NOW at the World of Disney in DTD or at the Pieces of Eight shop at the end of the POC ride.

we are trying to get a set of grandparents to come with us (to make it easier on us and help with the kiddies!). we got an excellent price for the cruise, so even if it's just the 5 of us, we don't mind!

now,....to get us on that roster of disboard members..........

I noticed a lot of people were worried about exchange rates of the islands we will be visiting. You really don't need to. All of the islands will take US dollars. Most of the islands prefer it since our money is more stable. The only thing you need to do is make sure you specify that the price is in US dollars. (Some of the islands use the dollar term for their money too.)

I have been on 10 cruises and never exchanged my money. Those of you from Canada and Europe will need to exchange, but I recommend only getting US money so you don't have to keep exchanging it for each of the islands.

BTW-I heard Disney has a active military discount. Did your DSIL get to use it for the cruise? Although, it might not be as good as the DVC or passholder deals you can get.

It's wonderful that he has some time to enjoy family. I can't wait to me him and thank him personally for a "job well done".

He had a GREAT time...
its funny because the whole time he was in Iraq, he kept talking about the things he wanted to eat the second he got home.
A burrito, 6 CHURROS and a Turkey Leg...
he had the burrito on the DAY he got home, and the Churros and Turkey leg he had yesterday.

And Disney does do GREAT Military discounts...
they are very supportive of the military...
Just as we are supportive of Disney

But, we are all cruising on our DVC points... we LOVE our DVC membership!

Last night I found out that the internet company that I bought my magnet paper from sent all my private info including my credit card number to a person in her shipment. I only found out because SHE contacted me. I still don't have my shipment and now they aren't answering their phone. That person is worried that HER info was shipped to a different person. She used paypal. I called the bank at 10:30 PM last night and they closed my credit card account and are issuing me a new card. I went to the bank today and they stopped payment to this company. What a horrible feeling. I don't know how many other people got my info. Hopefully just the one. I was soooooo fortunate that she contacted me. DO NOT USE DECALPAPER,COM.

You guys have been chatty and I just don't have time to read it all yet. Will try and catch up later. Just wanted to pass on to all of you NOT to use that internet company.

Thanks but I am running a bit skittish of internet purchases right now. I think I will pay the extra dollars and be safe. The other person that notified me is a godsend to me. We have been in touch back and forth all day. I wish her luck like I had!

My 15dd told me that once he boards he'll HAVE to be happy because it's Disney! Hopefully soon he'll want to join in!
