Hello Everyone!
Has anyone booked any Island Tours on their own, yet? I've asked several companies for some info, but nothing definite. The only thing I was sure about was Magen's Bay, now I wonder if we should try to get to Trunk Bay. It seems like a lot of trouble "on your own".

I am linked to my mom's reservations and so are the DisneyDudettes so we all have early seating. We need to get out of the terminal early to catch our plane so early will work great for us.

CJ - We are doing St. Thomas on our own and we are going to Magan's bay and Paradise point. We are also taking an island tour in St. Lucia that is not a Disney excursion.

I use to be exactly like you. I was afraid of doing things on our own until my dd, PoohFriend#1 (Heidi) and her DBF did it own their own in Freeport years ago. It was an unscheduled stop with DCL due to weather. I was afraid to go and they came back with great memories and we just stayed on the ship. Since then we have done it ourselves. Magen's Bay was NOT difficult to get to on our own. We just caught a taxi right outside of the port and we plan to do the same thing again this time. We are having a private tour company in St.Lucia.

I was able to make Palo brunch ressies last friday morning when the site went back up. There were no high tea ressies listed at that time.

Since I am *in charge* of excursions for 7 people - ages from 45 down to 5 - and we aren't all doing the same excursions....I decided to stick to Disney Excursions. I really didn't want anymore choices! LOL!

What will your St. Lucia tour consist of, sight seeing, shopping, beach time, snorkeling? If you don't mind, which company are you using? We don't go to the spa or Palo, so all I have to do is figure out what to do on the islands and register the kids for the clubs. I think I want to be back in time for dinner on the ship in St. Lucia, but we have early seating, so I'm not sure. Does anyone know if there is shopping (key chains, T-shirts) within walking distance of the port? Maybe we could go back on shore after dinner to shop for awhile before the pirate night party. Do you suppose the locals would notice if we were in our pirate costumes?

We just booked at Pop Century... couldn't resist the GREAT price we got... we are staying 5 nights before the cruise... anyone else staying here... anyone know anything awful about it or anything WONDERful about it? Please give me any info.

I was on the cruise critic site trying to get reviews on excursions and many people have used private tour services that they raved about in St. Lucia. They said the tours were much longer than the cruise lines offer and obviously much less crowded and more personal.

I would like to see things specific to each island and not just the standard snorkeling, beach break, shopping areas etc.....

CJ - I quoted this for you so you can see the two touring company's at St. Lucia. I do believe there is a shopping are for you to browse within walking distance of where the ship docks.

FUN! I wish we had time to stay for a few days before the cruise! 23dd couldn't take any more time off of work. And the 15dd is already missing the second week of Chemistry & Geometry (we homeschool but, she takes these 2 classes outside the home) and knowing how much she would panic at the thought of missing the first 2 weeks....

We are hoping to get a chance to go to WDW in the Spring when middle dd turns 16.

Alex, thanks so much for all your work. I know it is difficult trying to keep track of the new people and the others than have cancelled. You have mine correct. Hugs.

Put me in for 5 days before as well. We will be at ASMo. So looking forward to it but not looking forward to the weight gain with the free Disney Dining and then the food on the cruise. Now, if I could lose 6-10 pounds before, I would be happy!

We just switched to this cruise today, so I'm still reading all the posting... It should take me a couple of days to get filled in on all the goings on... but if I need to sign on for anything, PLEASE don't leave me out... I want in on the pins, magnets, lanyards, nametags, Fish Extenders Scrapbooking anything like that.
