9/6 (Half Marathon) or 9/7 (Labor Day)?

Going to be at Disneyland for the week of Labor Day :) Arriving on 9/5 (day of rest) and leaving on 9/12.
Darn lack of 6 day park-hopper will force us to choose between going on 9/6 or 9/7. Park hours are 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. on Sun 9/6 the last day of the half marathon. Park hours for 9/7 Labor Day are 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Question is, which day to go? Hours indicate Sunday will be less crowded? Being able to stay until 12:00 a.m. on Labor Day a plus because some will leave early to return to work/school the next day?

Overthinking this? I tend to do so, once every other year trips tend to do that to you!

Thanks in advance.

We are facing the same issue. We are arriving 9/6 and leaving 9/12. We had chosen Wednesday as our resort day. Our thinking was we didn't want to miss Fantasmic, Paint the Night parade and the new Fireworks. We had thought that we would only have Sun, Mon, and Fri to do these three and knew that in case Fireworks were cancelled for any of those nights we would want to not give up any of those days. However, rumor has it that the Fireworks and Paint the Night will be shown every night we are there with the exception of the park closing early Thursday. So back to rethinking this. New refurb has Screamin going down on the 7th for Refurb.. Sunday will be the only day we can ride that, how important is this ride to you as you will be facing the same? Looks like SM and will go down on Tuesday. If you plan it right there will be no attraction missed during these days as HM will be back for Friday the 11th.

I am also there 9/5-9/11..
We get there in the afternoon/evening on the 5th, so just relaxing... Sunday, with my past exp with the marathon in 2012, was VERY busy...
We are opting for a down day that day also, pool day, DTD day.... and head in on Monday - Friday, since our flight leaves late Friday we can go in at 8am that day.
I wish the PTN schedule would post....

Disneyland schedules have posted for the entire time we are there now.

Good point about Screaming, don't think it is worth it to us to brave the Sunday crowd in order to ride it. Also, we will be doing Universal on the "off" day so I think Sunday will hopefully be better for traffic than Labor Day.

Last year, Sunday was much better than Labor Day itself. Also, this year, Space Mountain is closing on Labor Day for the Ghost Galaxy overlay, so Sunday is your only chance to ride it before the overlay. It reopens the 11th as Ghost Galaxy, and will likely be very popular that day.

My experience has always been that race weekends are super crowded and hard to get around. It sounds like Sundays are better days right now? I know when I was there Saturday and Sunday were madhouses with Monday being a little less crowded. That was back in 2012.

I'm glad I ran into this thread for a couple reasons.....

1. We were already planning on going, but I had no idea it was (another) run weekend. We were there in May when the Tinkerbell was going on.

2. My hotel rate seems like more of a deal now. I didn't get why the hotels were 2x normal prices, and knew that the holiday weekend wasn't enough to make them go up THAT much. Knowing about the races makes more sense.

Well, we'll still be there. My school schedule isn't very friendly to getting away, and this weekend happened to work. We'll be at Knott's on the 6th, though, because my family's passes are blocked out (and we got free tickets from Coke!).
