Hey everyone, this was my First Cruise ever.

We loved it. It started off with a bit of a downer when we didn't get our shirts in time ( the lady screwed up our address) and then when we got to florida my credit card company put a hold on my card ( which I got fixedquickly) but they wouldn't take my card again. Luckily we had the DCL transferes included since they booked our airfare. Once that we over it was great. WE stayed at the Carribean Beach Resort the day before. Unfortunately the only shuttle they had leaving from there was at 12:30 so we didn't get to the port until like 1:45 but that meant a short wait for the kids club registration and check in, plus our room was ready. We loved everything on it. the only complaint for me was that Everything seemed to start early. i was trying to get to a 2:15 showing of cars and got there like 2 minutes early only to find that it started early. We did find alot of line for the characters photo's but they moved quickly so it didn't bother us much. One other thing we didn't like was that it seemed everytime we wanted to go to our room thwe stateroom hostess had not done it yet. we would get up and go to breakfast walk aroung etc ( she would be there doing rooms already) and when we would come back she still hadn't done it. Same thing at night. WE had the early seating and would walk around go see a show etc and she still wouldn't be up to or done with our room when we get back. They should give them a list of which rooms have early and which rooms have late seating. this way she can do the early ones then go back to the late ones. Our table mates were sitting by the stairs waiting for theirs to be done after dinner. Other than that we loved everything else. The room was great, we liked the shows, everything. We can't wait to do it again!

Rosemary, same here with the rooms! Sometimes it was late afternoon before it was done! One day she actually saw us leave the room and kinda yelled at us to put the service sign on the door knob and she would do ours first. We made a habit of doing that every day and it STILL wasn't done until later afternoon. Also, my pillowcases weren't delivered until LATE Friday night after 11 and I already had my suitcases out in the hall. Had to put them in the carryon which was a pain! :confused3

Since DD only went to the clubs twice, I still had my pager in the room Friday night. Didn't know I had to bring it back by 12:00  OOPS, MY BAD! I just thought I would leave it in the room. WELL, about 11:30 Friday night my beeper went off! I freaked out cuz DD was sleeping and I was in my jammies. I didn't want to leave her in the room so I called up to the clubs and she told me I HAD to bring it back. I told her DD was sleeping and she said, very disgustedly, JUST A MINUTE. So another VERY NICE lady came on and told me she would run down and pick it up because they would charge me $150 bucks for it if its not returned!!!! What is up with that? Can't housekeeping just return it? I guess not! SO, for future cruisers make sure you return it. She was very nice in offering to pick it up so I wasn't charged. I guess I missed that part in the contract!

We also had an awesome trip!!! This was our first cruise too and had nothing to compare it to. For us, it was MAGICAL!! I guess we are just easy to please because the brown water didn't bother us - we knew it would go away eventually. :teeth: And, DS8 LOVED the kids club. He wanted to go every night instead of the shows, and then swim all day long. DH and I ended up eating in Palo three times (2 brunches and 1 dinner) and totally fell in love with the place. I think DH actually fell in love with our waiter Rishi. They were practically hugging the last time we saw him! :lmao:

Our basket from The Perfect Gift was not delivered to our stateroom. :guilty: I didn't realize it until the second day and then I went down to Guest Services to inquire about it. They took down what I ordered and said they would get back to me the next day. The next morning I received a voicemail from Nicole in Guest Services saying they were still looking into the situation and would get back to me later in the day. When we returned to our room after the show, there was a basket made up from DCL and a note from Guest Services to call Nicole. I guess the original basket was delivered to the wrong stateroom. I told her that was no problem and that we really appreciated what they had done for DS -- the basket they provided was WAY MORE than what I ordered. Then, on our last night, Nicole came to our room and personally delivered an autographed picture of Donald Duck to DS (his fav character). So, we were pretty impressed with their response and how they handled the situation.

So, yeah, the magic was there for us and we rebooked a fake date to move to September 2008. We were all very surprised that this trip far exceeded our expectations!!! :woohoo:

If your DH and DS go by the names of Dan and Danny, then we were the stateroom that wound up with your gift basket. Unfortunately, my boys were well into the basket by the time I realized the mistake. You can read all the details in this thread:

I'm so glad that Disney was able to come up with a replacement basket for you! I'm not sure it was Disney's fault the basket wound up in our stateroom though....whoever filled out the gift card transposed the last two digits of the stateroom so instead of ending in '42', the stateroom number on the card ended in '24'...which is how we wound up with it! Anyway, glad it all worked out for you. We also had a good time (with just a couple negative experiances) and booked another onboard as well.

btw: Your door signs were great!

dursin - thanks for your PM, again I appreciate you contacting me and we are fine with the outcome of the situation. BTW, I had a lot of fun with our door signs, but guess what? I forgot to take a picture of our door. Doh!!!! :sad2:
