9/27 Magic "Cash" Refunds Yet

Hey there fellow 9/27 Magic cruisers. I'm curious to know if any of you or your TAs have received your refund from DCL. We made our final payment in cash through the TA, so the refund will come to her. We're not so much in a hurry to get the money just because we want it fast, but we've booked a new cruise for January 15th, planning on using the refund and the discount to cover the trip, which it will and then some.

However, the full payment is due Monday, and we still haven't seen the refund. So I'm wondering who else is waiting for "cash" and if you've gotten it?

Also understand that I'm not knocking DCL and trying to start a griping thread about how they should have done this faster. I very much aware of what it takes to issue paper checks. I just want to be able to figure out if the checks have started to hit.

sailed the same cruise got our 40% back a couple of weeks ago paid back on our mickey card in 3 little bits i suggest you call disney to find out where yours might be

Got ours back about 2 weeks ago, too. Got two chunks back on our Disney Visa, which we put the depsit down with and the biggest chunk on our debit card, which we paid for the balance with.

1e actually got the largest portion back in a check just this week. we had paid cash for the whole cruise so it took a little longer to get the refund. still waiting for one more small one. i called DCL just to get the numbers they were using-so i could see were the 40% came from and they were a great help, had a supervisor on the phone who explained how it all works, seems we all got a liitle more back d/t gov. taxes decreasing after we paid! what a nightmare they must be going through-and to hear that some got their refund so quickly-Bravo to DCL! After all is said and done-I find myself talking just about the cruise and not the days prior to, because frankly, the cruise made all the bad stuff go away. 4 days on board wasn't enough for us-so that is why we are booked for 2 more cruises!

That's just what I was hoping to hear, that the checks are starting to arrive.

I know people who used credit or debit cards have been receiving refunds since the cruise, but I'm really asking about those who paid "cash" ie: check to the TA, TA's check to DCL. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it showes up Monday in time to make our payment on our Jan 15th trip. If not, we'll figure something out.

We too talk mostly about the cruise, but for me and my family, we even enjoyed the adventure of the preceeding days. We figured what the heck, we weren't home, at work or school so we just enjoyed ourselves. In fact one of nice parts of the trip were the two full days we spent together, just the five of us in our hotel suite. Serious quality time with no big disrtactions.


I fully expected the checks to take longer. It is a much more complicated technical process than issuing electronic refunds to cards. So, I'm not in the least upset by the wait, only curious and a little anxious to pay the next cruise off.

Anyone else. please keep us posted on the arrival of any refund check. And I'll up date here as well.

Ok..........call me crazy, but now that it is over I think I kind of enjoyed those days in Florida running down Jeanne. It was definately family time and had we have not had the fiasco at the port, well I won't try to relive that, it was surely an adventure!

Wouldn't want to relive it, but it is a good story.

We must be crazy, too (or just slow to learn!), because we booked a 4-night for 9/25/05 (does that date sound familiar?) and then again for 10/14/06....we'll brave the chances of a hurricane again!
