Busy weekend for me as we are still painting the inside of our home. Hope to go to WDW tomorrow for a bit.

I heard back from the Sheraton. If we need to add Thursday night rooms, they will be subject to availability at the time they are booked (makes sense). If we know for sure how many Thursday rooms we will want, we should add them in the group contract. So, if we know 5 people want to book two nights ... we would need to guarantee those 5 Thursday nights, plus the 10 Friday nights (again, this makes sense).

If we need more rooms, it will be at the current availability (I did not get an answer as to whether that mean IF AVAILABLE, or AT RACK RATE.

My perception of the group rate is that it's strength is that nobody is required to stay more than one night (ordinarily, two nights are required when staying a Friday or Saturday night). In addition, anyone booked in a GROUP RATE is typically the last one to get BUMPED if the hotel overbooks. For those wanting to book a Thursday and Friday night, you will save a little money, but have good assurances you will not be bumped. For those booking a Friday night (only), the deal is MUCH better, since you will not have to pay for two nights.

Once I sign the contract and provide a credit card guarantee, the webpage will be set up. However, before doing so, I would like to count the responses for rooms (Thursday and/or Friday), on both FB as well as DISboards. Once I get that done (hopefully within 12 - 24 hours, I will post my findings. Assuming all looks well, we will be ready to go.

***** Remember, this is a COMMITMENT. I (personally) will have to financially guarantee we book the rooms requested. Accordingly, if you change your mind (do not book), I will have to pay for your room(s), unless someone else takes over your slot. I do not mind doing this ... but please make sure you follow through with booking (when available). Accordingly, I will likely only include a limited number of rooms in the group rate ... which means we will have very little room for adding additional rooms (understandably, since I do not want to go out on a limb to estimate how many rooms we MIGHT want.

My husband and I would like 1 room for Friday night. Please add us to the list. Thank you for looking it this and getting it going. Very excited for this cruise

Hi Everybody,

What is Disney's recommended earliest flight time departing San Juan?

Thanks,

I am sure there will be someone who responds, but honestly, if it were me, I would obtain the information FIRST HAND from DCL. Since this is (for the most part) a new port for DCL, I would not want to make a reservation, only to learn (the hard way) that my flight left 10 minutes before I made it to the airport.

Dear Bill,

Boy, I never would have found that. They buried it five levels from the home page, and it doesn't show up on Google. Thanks a bunch, Bill!

Hola,

I am so excited that we will be going on this cruise. It started with just our family but now we are up to 4 famalies in our group. I'm actually Puerto Rican and haven't been to the island in 5 years. My mom & step dad still live there but we usually bring them out to us. Now we will be spending some time with our family and actually bringing our mom on the cruise with us.

Here's the info for my family. I will have the others join in and add there own.

1) Number of adults / children in your group: 2 adults/2 boys
2) Names of adults in your group: Helen & Nelson
3) Ages of children in your party (at your discretion): Aiden 10 & Colin 6
4) General location of where you currently live: Los Angeles
5) Castaway Club Level: Gold

:welcome: ... or, should I say, WELCOME HOME!?

I have not been to PR since 2006 ... wish I could stay longer.

For those who live in PR, or those of us who will be staying in a hotel near the port (night before sailing), what do you thinking of either waiting for the Magic to pull into port (returning from the 1st cruise), OR (depending on daylight), welcoming the Magic back to SJ at daylight?

When the Fantasy pulled into New York Harbor, I was there to meet her. When the Magic pulled into New York Harbor ... I was there to meet her. While I was on dry land welcoming the Fantasy into port, I was lucky enough to be on a charter in the harbor, when the Magic pulled into the harbor. The person organizing the charter has custom signs made to welcome the Magic. Maybe we can't come up with professional signs ... but I thought we might be able to pull something off ... what does everyone think?
:cheer2:

Boy, that sounds perfect for everyone. I've never been to Puerto Rico but am really excited to see the Arecibo telescope and the rain forest. We're coming from the West Coast too, and our son will be 6 when we cruise. See you around.

Walt

WELCOME EVERYONE NEW!!!

Sorry I have been MIA for a while but I am getting ready to cruise this Friday and haven't got anything done for it yet.

Every time I would think of something to make for my FE gifts I couldn't find a part so today I finally found something I can make so all day today and tomorrow will be dedicated to that. Guess I should pack us some clothes too, or we might have a lot of folks jumping overboard when we arrive :rotfl2:

I will check to see if any of you requests to be added to the FB page and I will add you, plus if you want to do the FE please let me know. So far we only have 15 families. Even if the list gets huge I will divide it so nobody will need to pack a bunch of gifts. I know its hard to fit that into luggage.

Back when I can,

Kathy
