9/27/14, Returning to the Southern Caribbean

If you have cruised DCL what is your favorite activity to attend on board?

If this is your first cruise which activity on board do you want to try for sure?

My first cruise we had tea with Alice. That is my favorite Dis movie, so it was so much fun for me!
The last cruise when we were alone, me and hubby went to the coffee bar. Not an event per se, but something we really enjoyed. The barista :confused3 (sp?) made me all kinds of tea drinks, custom for me. I don't like coffee. It was a good time to unwind, relax and talk about the day.

This cruise I want to do the drink tastings.

Anyone else have favorite place on the ship?

Melissa

Lounge chair near the pool with a book and the drink of the day. ;)

DW and I enjoy Exotic Rasul in the spa and of course Palo is a must! desert night and the fireworks are also on the must do list.

We will be on the TransAtlantic in May. We've done the T/A before, as well as the Panama Canal. There is nothing more enjoyable and relaxing, than multiple sea days ... which involve looking for something to do. You know you are relaxed when your options are bingo, playing Bunco, making Flubber, getting an ice-cream cone ... and other non-events, to pass the time. On some of the sea days, we would head to Diversions about 30 minutes prior to dinner ... to divulge a bit of nachos, salsa, melted cheese, hot dogs, chicken wings ... ALL BEFORE DINNER!

During most 7 night cruises, we rarely get a chance to take a leisurely walk around deck 4 ... that's something we want to try to do more often on 7-nighters. DW likes Cove Cafe and Outlook Bar ... I really enjoy Outlook Bar (especially on sea days) ... almost like a social club. It's very nice to get to know some of the cast members!

We've participated in beer tasting and champagne tastings before ... will likely want to try Mixology ... and maybe something a bit stronger. On the flip side, we will not have much spare time on the Southern Caribbean ... but I am willing to give it a whirl!

I was thinking that this cruise has such a packed itinerary. Only one "at sea" day, and I do look forward to that too. All the ports are really interesting. I hope I don't feel like I need a vacation when I get home from vacation.

I always feel like I need a vacation to rest up from my Disney vacations:rotfl2: But its worth it, to have such a great time.

photos....I buy the photopass CD and we get pictures taken at every opportunity while at WDW and buy lots of the photos onboard the ships.

I also buy a Christmas ornament from every port we pull into or for every year at WDW.

Question for the day:

What is your favorite souvenir to buy on vacation?

Answer: Magnets for me. Billed caps for Greg

Magnets for her shot glasses for me.I'm not allowed to buy tee shirts anymore I have too many and she can't buy coffee mugs we have boxes of them and no more storage space.

Same here, I have tons of mugs and we gave away about 30 t-shirts last year but our dresser drawers are still stuffed with them :lmao:

Anyone have plans for this weekend?

The theme parks are way too busy on Easter weekend, so we probably won't go to them this week. Maybe a movie if there is anything worth seeing. Maybe a round of mini golf?

I know we will watch the Fantasy pull out on the web cam tomorrow, I always enjoy watching Disney ships pull out.

Back later,
Kathy

Tomorrow is Dave's birthday, so we plan to hunker down and watch movies, a favorite thing for us to do...have a couple to watch...Frankenweenie and Wreck It Ralph are two we haven't gotten to watch yet.

Sunday will be Mass, then the little ones are coming over to Mema to hunt eggs. I think it's going to be inside though....rain is expected.
Then we will have our traditional Easter feast of Ham, mashed potatoes, corn, deviled eggs, homemade buscuits and a pineapple upside-down cheesecake! ;)

What time is dinner? Sounds yummy enough I may have to be a unexpected guest :rolleyes1

I tried on my last 3 Disney cruises to see Wreck it Ralph and never made it. Guess I will have to rent it. Let me know if you like it.

Going to my brother's for Easter. Just going to enjoy one last weekend before the Orioles take over my life until October. Have a great weekend everyone!

My son is a die-hard Orioles fan. He had (has?) a shrine to Cal Ripken, all because the first year he played tee-ball he was #8 on the Orioles. He says that's not the reason, but I was there...I know! :lmao:
His Dad is a Toronto Blue Jay fan and I'm a Cubs fan. Where did he learn of the Orioles? :duck:

What can I say but you've raised a son with exceptionally good taste! LOL
