Dumb question but I don't want to bother packing these if I can't wear them: Can you or can you not wear nice capri outfits to dinner? I have seen things that say yes and things that say no. I told you it was a dumb question. I know you can't to Palo but anywhere else can you?

Years ago, I bought a very small travel iron for just such times. Guess I better throw it in. Or, I can just show up wrinkled! If i bring it, you can sure borrow it!

Thank you....Likewise, if we can bring them and I bring mine you or any one else is welcome to use it. (let me check the can bring list on DCL web-site)

I just could not find it earlier when I was looking for approved and non approved items.

I am thinking of using the travel space saving bags, and think our clothes might get a little wrinkled

I have heard it is a strict no-no to bring an iron. Very bad safety issue. But I was also told that they have irons in the laundry room so you wont have to go with wrinkles! :teeth:

I was also curious about dinner wear and if I can wear capris (that is all I am planning on packing!) and I didnt see it listed as a item you shouldnt wear. They said no shorts, bathing suits, or bathing suit covers but it never said anything about capris.

Well I did just find my answer on the DCL web-site, it states

"Personal irons are not allowed in staterooms due to safety concerns. Irons are available for use in the laundry facilities located on decks 2, 6 and 7."

Guess, I will keep ironing for now, and if I need a touch up I know where to go!!!

I knew I saw it somewhere. In the email I got from Disney cruise the other day.

"Evenings
• Don’t forget a jacket or sweater. Yes, it’s the tropics, but the nights can be a bit breezy.
• Nice dining attire (no swimwear, tank tops or shorts at dinner, please)
• Optional formal attire
• Themed attire is welcome for Pirates IN The Caribbean night."

Said nothing about capris :teeth:

Hey fellow Breezers! Sorry so late to the game...been lurking for a few days. Joining me on our first cruise is DGF Wendy and her teen DDs Rachel and Mary. While we won't be partaking in the FE we will look for the gang at the meet at 3:00 on departure day at the Promenade Lounge (if I've read things correctly). Look forward to meeting all you fine and entertaining folks at some point. Oh yeah, we are all longtime Orlandoans and will be in 8548. Everyone travel safe and see you soon!

So nice of you guys to join us to BREEZIN' to the BAHAMAS. HAPPY SAILING.

Here is an ironic story about our Disney trip . Two years ago we stayed at saratoga springs for two weeks . While we were there my daughter Ambyr met a little girl that seemed like whenever we weren't at the parks this family wasn't either. So when the family was leaving Ambyr and this little girl exchanged email addresses and such. They emailed each other a couple times but then lost contact.

So last week my daughter got an email from this little girl and they started talking on the phone and the reason she emailed was because the mother was packing for there up coming disney trip and found the email address in there luggage .They will be there the exact time we will be after the cruise at different resort but they made arrangement to get together and hang out for the day .Sorry for the long winded story but i just thought i would share another story of Disney magic .... 7 days from this moment i will be starting my 1200 mile journey to Florida (probably 6-5 hour energies to get there lol)
''''''''''''''''cant wait to be eating sunflower seeds and listening to the radio stuck behind a semi while my wife and kids snore :confused3

Capris are fine for dinner (except Palo). And to save someone from saying it, yes you will see people wearing things they should not (like shorts) - so they won't throw you out, but it does spoil the atmosphere they are trying to create so please abide by the guidelines - pretty please - and the sun will shine on you! :sunny:

NC State on TV tonight - GO WOLFACK! :cheer2:

Scott , IT'S A SMALL WORLD AFTER ALL. They say mountain Dew works much better, Stay safe my friend.

WOW! Sound like a nice MAGICAL MOMENT for you and MIMI. Say Mack I failed to fine on the board the book you got to read this cruise, what is it? You ever read anything by Ronald Kessler? I want to pick up one of his, THE TRRRORIST WATCH , I hear it was A very good read.

I don't know this author. I hope you enjoy it. The memories Mack shared were very special!

OK - since I shared some I have to share what is probably my favorite magical moment from that DVC member cruise in 2008. It is hard to pick a favorite - well anyway - this one is thanks to Kamy and Steve!

One of the guests was Vince Papale who in 1976 became the oldest NFL rookie in history (age 30). The Disney movie "Invicible" was based on his story. I got to sit directly beside Vince out by the pool and watch the movie on the Jumbo screen. :cool1: He talked to me all through it telling me which parts were accurate and which parts were "hollywood". He pointed out his real life children who had a small but important moment in the movie. He was incredibly friendly and signed autographs and took pictures with people off and on throughout the showing.

Kamy and Steve told me he was out watching the movie and gave me the seat beside him. What good friends!

Disney cruising is awesome!

Kamy and Steve are amazing! I love them! Vince was great!!! And just having that experience was worth the member cruise - it was awesome!

I am in the "packing zone" and needed a little help,
I thought I read but not sure if the staterooms had irons or not or can you pack a travel iron (i thought this was a no, no but not sure) or can you request an iron to be brought to your room (don't really want to pay to have my clothes ironed)
Or should I just keep ironing as I pack, and hope for the "wrinkle free best" :worship:

:laundy:

Right - No irons; it is a safety/fire hazard. They have irons in the laundry rooms and your steward will iron anything for a nominal - really reasonable - fee. Downy wrinkle release is great - it just doesn't work on some fabrics for me or I'm not great at sing it.

Cute story! My poor husband has to listen to me sleep almost every time we get into a car for any length of time.

Disney is filled with magic and wonder! What is really fun for Mack and me is to pass along some magic or spread some pixie dust. One of our favorite memories is from a trip to Vero. We met a precious family at the hot tub one night. The next day we were able to step in as photographers - straight off the mini golf course - for them during their vow renewal because their photographer canceled. It was just so much fun to do that for them - it blessed us! Little things like giving someone our fast passes makes their trip magical and makes us feel like we got to take part in a very small way in spreading the magic. It's just fun!

Disney is wonderful at making magic Walt was a master at creating a story and an experience in everything - from the layout of his park to the rides within. It's all part of the magic! I can't wait to see what we'll be remembering as special, magical, and Disney-esque from this cruise!

we will be off the ship on Nassau day for a few hours, got to see the dolphins

We are going to feed the dolphins that day too! Which group are you going with?
You guys will enjoy it. I did Dolphin Encounter with my little ones last summer in the Dominican Republic. My stepson and I also did the Dolphin Swim which is an AMAZING experience. If I didn't have a change of heart on the whole captive dolphin industry,I would soooo do it again.

:welcome: I am Mimi cruising with my dh, Mack. Our 23 yr. old son and 20 yr. old daughter will not be with us this trip. Neither will our fur children. It's just us - celebrating Mack's birthday and our anniversary. Glad you found us and that we'll see you at the meet and greet!
