9/25 cruisers-Odd but urgent request

Hi Everyone!
We have an odd request then I'll give you the background story. If anyone on the 9/25 Magic sailing is planning on cancelling and rebooking due to the hurricane, could you please let DCL know by noon today and request that they use your space for the Neeves family and the Make-a-wish foundation?

And here's the story:

Our 11 yr old Goddaughter , Annie, has been battling -successfully PTL-cancer known as Wilm's tumors. It has claimed one of her kidneys and put her through all that one goes through in this type of battle. She and her family were scheduled to go on the Wonder on 9/26 as her Wish trip. That trip as you know has been shortened and the Wonder is then to go into dry dock. In an effort to not dissappoint her the Wish foundation is willing to put them on the 9/25 Magic, but can you believe it is still totally full! They said if they could find any room to accomodate them (family of 5) they would make the arrangements - which is amazing for them to even consider. And we would be unbelievably blessed because we couldn't believe that we were sailing only one day apart and wouldn't be able to be together. So this would be one BIG miracle for our families to be able to share this trip as we don't see each other very often (we're in NJ they in SC). SO we're not asking for anyone to give up there trip that they want to go on, just IF you are planning on cancelling anyway, could you do it before noon?

Did you try the 9/30 Wonder? We'll be sailing then (fingers crossed). The Wonder is not scheduled for dry dock until 10/3.

Both ships are set to sail Monday instead of Saturday and Sunday. We are going ahead and flying down tomorrow and are going to keep our fingers crossed that someone cancels. Our "wish coordinator" said that Disney told them there had been no cancellations, but "Marcy in Florida" has different information. We will keep trying. Hi, I just read your post a few minutes ago. We have rescheduled our 9/25 cruise, and I'm sure many others have. It was just too much trouble for us to try to schedule a new flight, endure the uncertainess of the hurricane, etc. I would have definitely made the request on your behalf if I would have known.

sgardea, this is Annie's mom here, can you still call and ask them to do that? I think if you call back and tell them you want to do that they will be willing. That would be so great! If this happens, it will be an absolute miracle and a dream come true for Annie!!!

Also, how many people did you have accomodations for?

SCBelle...Which category did you have booked for the 5 of you? Wondering if it was a category 4 are they waiting for a category 4 to come available. I don't know if you are willing (don't know the ages of your children) to accept 2 connecting staterooms. If so, I would call DCL and inform them of your wishes.

mjasp - Are you saying that you have 2 connecting rooms available or are you saying that we should let Disney know that that is an acceptable option for us? It would be fine. Our children are old enough to make that work.

Mjasp has a good idea to call DCL and tell them you are willing to accept alternate accomodations. Two connecting rooms or a Cat 6 and a Cat11 across the hall would probably work also. I think what you want is to BE ON THE SHIP. Can't hurt and might just be the info they need to make your wish come true.

I'm saying a prayer for your family as I type. May the Father's grace be with you all both medically and for the recreation that re-creates our joy and provides Magical memories.

No, I do not have any rooms on the sailing, just throwing out another suggestion, to get you on the ship.

My guess is that the DCL CMs couldn't process the cancellations into the system fast enough for the cancellations to be reflected. But the CM I spoke to was clear that there had been cancellations.

I am thinking that they may not take any new booking for the altered sailings. Since they are offering incentives for people to travel like the 40% discount. Who knows - good luck.

SCBelle - we had accomodations for 6 - two catagory 6, adjoining rooms. I will give a a call DCL tomorrow morning 9/25 (as it is too late now) and see if they can help out.
