9/23/06 Let's go!!!! Who's with us???

Day 1 4:20 Deck 10 for Sail Away Party
Day 1 3:00 Promenade Lounge
Day 1 Post Sail Away Party - location TBA
X - Day 3 (Monday) Location and Time TBA

Even though I suggested the Sail Away party meet, I changed my mind after reading another post that said this did not work out so well.

This has probably been posted but...when can I expect to receive our cruise docs? I got our ME info the other day so I was thinking the cruise docs should be coming any day.

We have RAIN!! Well - not too much, but the ground is wet this morning and they are forecasting we don't hit 100 today. Never has one been so excited to have a high of 95! :)

Keep an eye on Ernesto - here's hoping that Key West is not beat up too bad for our coming trip. Personally I would not be offended if we somehow ended up with an Eastern Caribbean itinerary instead. I know - if you want to go East, book East. :) But the better price was going West when we booked and we have not ever been to Key West, so we figured we'd go West!

Actually, simple lazy sea days sound great, so you can pretty much pick a port and we'll still find a load of fun.

Let me play a little further devil's advocate with the board meet. If you wait until day 3, you have nearly half the cruise under your belts. By then most folks will have a bit of a routine built and you either have people not show up or you miss out on the friendships later into the cruise. Our experience has been that it's best to meet early and then you can have a handful of friendly faces throughout the journey. With that said...
I might suggest a pre-sail away meeting (say 3:00 as posted) or even a brunch-like situation on the second morning prior to hitting Key West. I too won't make waves, I am happy with most any suggestion, but I thought I'd throw a little perspective out there (at least from our past experiences).

Congrats on the rain Scott! I, too, was shocked that we are getting low 90's for the high this week in Little Rock. It is a welcome change!

I know what you mean about the possibility of an Eastern cruise. I figured booking in September there was a good chance of getting diverted to an Eastern itinerary. I am fine with it but the lack of a dolphin encounter for a 3 year old might be a bit of a disappointment for us but I am sure we would get over it quickly.

I completely see your point about the cruise meet. I have yet to vote because I can see both sides. Are you officially casting a vote for the 3:00 time on Day 1? Just trying to make sure all the votes get counted. :cheer2:

I think I recall reading that the cruise docs usually arrive about 2 weeks out give or take. We also received our ME info last week and now are excited to get our cruise docs. :dance3:

Angie, Spencer just turned 9, but he's still in a 7 slim, so I'm going to have to pass on the suit. It is a fine looking suit, though. I hope the other bidder took you up on the offer.

Last night, I had my first ever cruise dream, sort of nightmare. All I remember is I was in our room unpacking while Dh was in the port checking us in when the ship started pulling away from the port. Yikes!

Valerie, I don't know where to find the poll. Help, please.

I hope I don't offend anyone if I ask for prayers about selling our house. We are not in an advantageous position as sellers here. Dh starts his new job in Maryland the day after Labor Day. We stay here in NJ. We've done this before where dh has had to start a job in another state while we stay behind until we sell the house and he buys us another one, and it gets old fast.

It's great to have the cruise to look forward to during this crazy time in our life. :)

Boy, can I ever relate. We just put our house on the market last week and are hoping we don't get any offers in the next week or so from people wanting to close while we are on vacation. We are considering building a new home so hopefully we can get everything tied down with the builder before our trip if we decide to go in that direction. I can completely relate to being ready for a break during a crazy time! :joker:

The poll is up but didn't go up until after your post.

Speaking of Tinkerbell, is anyone else doing gifts from Tinkerbell? I bought 4 Little Adventures costumes and matching doll costumes for my DD's Build a Bear kitty since she is not into dolls at all. I plan to give her an autograph book our first night at the Hyatt, the costumes, pirate garb and other small souvenirs all from Tinkerbell. Anyone else?

Call my confussed :rotfl2: but tinkerbell brings us presents? How cool... How does it work? Do we buy the presents and give them to her? Please enlighten me

Pretty much. :rotfl: I am bringing along some small gifts and will buy a few while on the ship and while my DD is sleeping Tinkerbell will leave a gift. :wizard:

Do we have to pay tinkerbell to do this? Or is a service the ship provides? What time of the day does she come?

I got my cruise docs today

Actually it was not that exciting, a little bit of a disappointment actually.

I completed all the forms online so none of that was obviously included, but there was just one ticket with all our names on it and an immigration form and luggage tags which were the long generic ones you get when you check in at the airport. I don't even think they had Disney Cruise Lines on them. :guilty:
I am sure last year on our 3 day cruise we had the Disney character luggage tags in with our cruise docs and we each had a ticket. I am sure because I rememer the kids being so excited about getting their own ticket with their name on it!

Well, I am really just planning on doing it myself, but I have read that the staeroom host will do it too. In my case my DD is only 3 so she will not question at all. With older kids I would probably have the stateroom host do it because it will add to the magic. I might tip him a little extra but there is no formal charge if the host agrees to play Tinkerbell.

Got to agree with you Scott. We booked the Western for the same reason but as we have only ever cruised the 3 day I don't mind what ports we end up in. It will be fun. :dance3:

The brunch sounds like fun, up on deck 10 near the pool so the kids can play and mingle and the adults can talk ?

If not, I think I agree that earlier in the cruise rather than later would be the way to go, so day 1 3pm.

Congrats on receiving your cruise documents. Maybe ours will be in the mail today! :Pinkbounc

Thanks!

By the way they came UPS 3 day. I found them laying by the front door.

You still have time to vote if you have not done so yet. I was just posting an update so everyone would know where the vote stands without having to dig.

When was brunch on day 2 added? I am confused. Maybe we should rank them instead of just choosing one?

I like the new brunch selection, so I want to change my vote to that.
Chalex - I just peeked out my door hoping to see a disney surprise, but all that was on the porch were the trash cans. But YAY for you!! :Pinkbounc
