Howdy everyone,
we just got back from MGM studios. It was star wars weekend which was great fun. Also got to meet a nice lady who is cruising tomarrow on her first disney cruise. I had given her some tips for WDW and the cruise over the past few months. So it was great fun to meet her and her family.

Then we went and saw the new X-men movie. Our son was so anxious for us to see it, so we finally went. It was actually a pretty good show with a few surprises and lots of action.

I'm glad that you were feeling better so you could go to MGM Kathy. Star Wars weekend sounds fun. My DS was in a Star Wars miniatures game event yesterday. He enjoyed himself. Friday we spent all day in water and sun. Four hours in the AM with other homeschool families at one of Ko Olina's lagoons, then a couple of hours at the water park in the afternoon before we drove home. We have year passes to the water park but we don't drive over to that side of the island often. We were already over there and in bathing suits and the kids begged to go so I sat in the shade and let them play/slide for a while. Thank goodness for sun shirts/rash guards, keeps them nearly entirely covered. Just have to keep reappliing sunblock to their faces.

Don't know if we will do anything fun today or not. We have all our doors wide open and the breeze feels great. Take care everyone.

It sounds like you guys`are staying busy. That's great.

I am spending most of today covering switchplate and wallplates with leftover wallpaper borders to match each room. It always looks great and it uses up leftover borders.
Plus it is free. To buy designer covers is TOO EXPENSIVE!! Plus they wouldn't match the borders.
We are having family out the 29th of July so I am trying to get little projects done around here. They are the first to come and see our new home.

Howdy everyone,

well i have some good news` and some sad news.

Ok good news is my oldest daughter and her family are coming out from Oregon the end of July and staying until the end of August. Dh and I thought it might be fun to surprise the 2 grandkids with a cruise. Of course we will all be going). So it is all set, we cruise August 5th for a week with our family!!!!

But my Dh doesnt have enough vacation time to do the August cruise, the September cruise and our November cruise
So we wont be going with you guys in September

I will really miss getting to meet all of you guys!!
Promise me you will keep the thread bumped up so more will join. Have a cruise meet, you'll be so glad you did. You are a great group of people. I will be looking for a trip report from each one of you when you get back! I want to hear all about the awesome cruise you will have, Wish we were there too!
I will let you know how our August cruise goes when we return. If I pick up any tips on the cruise I will let you know. If you have any questions before the cruise, please dont hesitate to ask, i will still try to answer them for you.

That is terribly unfortunate Kathy. For us it is anyway! At least you get to substitute something terrific in place of the cruise. And fortunate that you can change your plans before the drop dead date and you lose some of your deposit.

I hope you enjoy all of your exploits - even without us!

OH MY Kathy... You were are ring leader... How very sad for you and for us... But at least you do get to be with your family...and if truth be told If I had to make a decission between the same two you did...I would have chossen my family as well.

I'm sure we can all jump in and keep the thread going... We would be letting you and ourselfs down if we didn't Please oh Please keep in touch. I will miss you.

What a happy grandma you must be!

What a busy grandma you will be too ! We are going to miss you on this thread and on the cruise. Sad for us. Your decision was the only one you could make though, grandkids have to come first! FL res. rates are already out for your new date as well, that should make final payment a little easier.

The "fun" thing I ended up doing was grocery shopping without the kids. Strawberries looked so good, much better than last week, so I bought two containers. DD and I made biscuits for shortcake with half whole wheat flour and olive oil instead of butter. They still tasted yummy!

Kathy, I just thought of something. Why don't you cancel your Nov. cruise. You will need a kidfree cruise much sooner than Nov., don't you think . That way you could still cruise with us. I like this plan loads better than canceling our cruise. Our thread is not going to be the same without you .

Heidi, wish I could change the November one but work schedule wont work that way for DH.
We are such a close little group I feel like I am desserting my family for my family, if that makes sense!!
I will keep in touch. Like I said I want to know all about your experiences on the ship. If any of you go to WDW before or after your cruise, let me know, maybe I could zip over and say Howdy. I have done this many times to meet people.

Kathy, we're gonna miss you!!!!! Thank you for getting us all together. And you get to go a month earlier now.....NO FAIR! We want an awesome trip report with lots of pictures.

Is this the first cruise for your grandkids? I bet they are so excited! We still haven't told the 4 year old that's going with us. Her mom said we'll tell her a few weeks before we sail. Any sooner and she'll have to live with me. I went to the Dollar Store yesterday and made her a gift bucket. They had the cutest little Mickey pens, coloring books, and stamps, glow sticks, and a lei. She hasn't been to WDW yet, so this will be her first interaction with the characters. I can't wait!

it will be the 3rd cruise for these particular grandkids. They are not excited at all. They dont know about it
We are lying to them! I know that is a no no, especially from grandma!!

But it is worth it. We have told them we are going to take them to Cocoa Beach for a few days. that will explain the luggage and heading that direction. Then a really BIG FIB!!! I have told them we have a special invitation, just for repeat guest to go to the terminal on 8/5/06 at 11:00 a.m. for a special presentation of a NEW DCL ship and to see a model of it. We have told them we will be the first to see it!!!
I will print up an invitation on the computer and have it laying around on the desk when they arrive.
Hopefully they wont catch on until we pull up to unload the luggage!!
Yes I will give you a trip report. If there is anything new on board I will be sure to let you know.

I am having withdrawal symptons from you guys! Guess I feel like an old mother hen looking after her brood.

hello everyone...I hope your Tuesday is going well Today is another warm day.. in the 90's. I HATE the heat . We typically have 30+ days each summer of 100+ degree heat... Last year we actully had 49 days....25 of them in a row

So does anyone have any plans for this weekend? This Friday is the last day of school for our girls.. and later that afternoon is the honor roll and awards ceremony and later that evening is the girls ballet recital. Saturday is a Worship Arts [drama, chior, band, praise team] Social. Sunday is church of course and then a swim BBQ party at a friends house... And then hopefully things will slow down next week... It will be nice [at least for a few days] that the girls will be home for the summer. Our boys will still attend full time preschool for acdamic reasons ...and to get them more ready to start kidnegarten in August.

Did I post last night? I don't see it. I know I wrote something. I've been away for a few days and was really, really tired when I got on line last night to check this thread. Maybe, I never did hit the "submit" button.

Well, at the risk of repeating myself, Kathy, It's a sad surprise to hear you won't be cruising with us, but at least it's for a happy reason. I'm not at all crazy about Florida but it does have it's advantages when it comes to Disney Cruises.

Before I left I was reading the regular cruise board and there were some posts by someone named Flagger that I found to be interesting reading. If you do a search on him, you'll find he's quite a character.

I'll be on line tonight if ANYONE wants to play scrabble be it thread member or beloved spouse of thread member - hint hint

Yes, I've had the busy server message on my screen several times. Annoying!! You know what else is annoying. I finally have the pool all clean, balanced and ready for swimming and NOW the weather turns cool and rainy. It was hot as blazes all the time I was scrubbing, vacuuming and waiting for the chemicals to balance out. Oh, well. I guess we'll be inside making apple sauce today instead. My friend and her daughter are coming over supposedly to swim but it looks like they'll be peeling and chopping apples with me, instead.

Yes - I continue to experience the server problems. I am a bit surprised the issue has not been addressed. The board has usually been very proactive about these things in the past.

We hit 99 yesterday and no end in sight to the higher temps. While we are used to them, we usually don't experience them until July and August - the heat is hitting us early and our drought conditions continue - ugh...

Yes - Flagger is a character to put it mildly. I have to wonder how much of his stuff he really believes! Or if he is naturally a pot stirrer?

Hi everyone!!!!

We have a pretty nice weekend planned. I get to have a facial and makeover Saturday!!! My MIL won a contest at her gym and she gets to bring 6 people for a morning of pampering and lunch. DD gets to come, too. She is so excited.
Then, Sunday we have friends coming over to grill. Not just any friends.....
the ones that are cruising with us. We're gonna pick our excursions and just bask in the glow of cruise planning. We have to figure out how to do all of this without letting her 4 year old DD know. My friend told me that if her DD finds out about the cruise she has to move in with us. That way we'll be the ones hearing, "How much longer?", "Can we go NOW?", "Is it time NOW?"!! We also have to decide if we're driving down the day before or the day of. It's only a 4 hour drive for us, and we wouldn't be able to leave here till after 5:00 pm anyway. So, I think a hotel would just be a waste of $$$$$$. What do y'all think?
