9/22/05- No SpectroMagic

A while ago there was a thread about the disneyworld.com calendar showing both Spectro and Wishes scheduled for 8pm on 9-22-05. Many people made guesses as to what that meant. Most agreed that if it was a mistake it would be corrected. Well, it's been weeks and the calendar is still the same. Since we will be in the MK on the 22nd I decided to ask Disney directly. I emailed them with the question and this is the response I just received:

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

On the calendar we have, there is no SpectroMagic scheduled for the night of 09/22/05. Wishes are
scheduled for 8pm on that night.

We apologize for any confusion you experienced with our web site.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact us.

Please include your full name, E-Mail address, and reservation number if applicable on all
correspondence.

Monday, September 19th also shows SpectroMagic.

I am not a very happy person right now if this email is correct. I planned all my parks and TS meals around SpectoMagic. This is actually going to cost me because now we have to park hop in order to see SpectroMagic. But I am willing to fork over the money to see SpectroMagic. I think I am going to make double ADR's for both those days to be save.

We are arriving late Wednesday night, and leaving on Monday. I like to avoid MK on weekends, due to higher crowds, so we are planning on going to MK on Thursday 9/22. When I saw Spectro on the calendar, I was afraid it might be crowded, since people might schedule Thursday as their MK day in order to see Spectro that night. Now I can go on with my original plans.

I just called Disney Dining to flip flop my ADR's. I also asked about SpectroMagic on the 22nd. She told me that they do not have it listed.

I also could not flip flop my ADR's because they don't have them. CRT is booked up on the 19th. Back to plan B, park hop at night.

How frustrating for you.
I also have my ADR's already made for our itinerary based on being at the MK on the 22nd and MGM on the 19th. I don't have much hope of being able to change them at this late date.
We have no plans of park hopping (the added cost for a family of 6 is just too much) so I guess we will be missing Spectro on this trip.

I am trying to focus on the positive point posted by Shannon G earlier and hoping for low crowds at MK on the 22nd since I'd imagine many that week will schedule their MK day for the 19th when Spectro is running. Low crowds will have to compensate for the lack of the parade.

SpectroMagic is also on the 17th. Would that work for you?

Try calling Disney Dining. You might be able to flip flop your ADR's if you don't have any hot meals.

I would say yes. The Monday ones are still on it is just the one Thursday one that was wrong.

Spectro is also on Saturday, September 24th that week. I'm planning on park hopping over to see it at 8pm. Sounds like quite a few of us are planning on MK on the 22nd. See you all there!
