Found this great board and thought I would leave a post. We are going to be on the Sep 19 cruise in two cabins split with me and our two year old boy in one and my wife and our 8 year old daughter in the other (adjacent cabins). Should be fun! I wonder how full the boat is? We planned this trip rather late, a few weeks ago, and could not get reservations at all for Palo. Oh well. Maybe on the boat we can.

Any advice for a first time Disney cruise family? We have been to the parks no less than 10 times in the past 10 years.

Thanks,

Bill and family

Welcome Bill and family. I have a DD who will turn 9 while we are on the cruise.

adult meet sounds great but shall have to see how the kiddos do w/ the club too...thanks...hope to at least pop by too!!:)

Bill - this is the first cruise out of 4 that we've booked Palo ahead of time. The other three cruises we booked when the desk opened onboard. I believe it's in WaveBands which is on Route 66 (the hallway most of the clubs are on) and I think they start letting you line up outside around 12:30 but the doors don't open until 12:45.

Will anyone else be running the Castaway Cay 5k?

It's just an informal route that a CM runs with a group the morning of CC day.

DH and I will be there.

OOOhhh I'm so excited, can't believe it's so close now. Looking forward to seeing you all.

Welcome to the newbies :thumbsup2

Anyone know what time we get into Key West? I know Disnet estimates around lunch time but have read a couple of trip reports where people got in quite early?? :confused3

Do we have to be here to sign for our Cruise documents or will UPS leave them at the door?

I'm pretty sure that they will be delivering at a time of day that neither of us will be home.

Hi Ursula!! You got the wrong boat sweetie! (and I promise you I am so envious that you know these details:rotfl:, I want to do a quickie cruise too!!) Everything you typed is exactly correct for the Disney Wonder but a bit different for the Disney Magic.

On the 7 night cruises you may go directly to Rockin' Bar D (whose counterpart is Wavebands on the Wonder) as soon as you board the ship. There is no waiting until later or you may miss getting a ressie at all. That will be located on Deck 3 Forward, down Beat Street (which is Route 66 on the Wonder)

And Welcome Bill and Family! Lots of us here on this cruise meet did not get Palo ressies yet either so we will see you in the line!

for us 1st time cruisers? I will be happy just to find my way around by Friday!!

Unbelievable how fast it is coming up now!

Never been yet but from what I read here on the DIS, anywhere from 11am to 2pm:scared1: Guess a lot depends on crossing those currents overnight and how that goes and what time we actually sail away? You are exactly correct though, right around 12:30pm is usually when everyone is all clear to go ashore in Key West.

kileybeth - send me the meet times and I will post them to yahoo group!!
:goodvibes

Okay, so the first meeting up time is actually at the PORT before we board the Magic. Some of us have been chatting for months and months and we will be looking forward to finally putting voices to all these words! Ha! As soon as the PORT opens, again, lots of us plan to be there to see about room upgrades, etc. Also Disneymoon0909, has our lime green glow in the dark bracelets for us!!! (don't forget your money for her!) She may or may not have a few extras. (1.50 each I think?) So our meetign time and place at PORT? Look for Disneymoon0909 (she says she is wearing all 100plus bracelts on her person:rotfl:) and when you find her? That's us!

Meet Two is at 3pm up on Deck 9 near the self serve ice cream machines
. Come with your kids and let them dry off from the pool or cool off with some ice cream before we head back to our cabins for life boat drill.

Meet three is in the Promanade Lounge on Deck 3 (level you board the Magic I believe?) either after 1st dinner seating or before 2nd seating. Anywhere from 8pm to 9:30pmish I think folks will be hanging out getting to know each other.

And now we have adults only meet by the Pool (or Signals) on Sunday morning around 9:30am! Obviously the adult pool!

We ought to at least be able to make one of those huh?

Anyone want to schedule anything else later in week, maybe on a sea day?

That's it Paige as I recall it!

I have been on the Magic western twice in the past 11 months and both times we arrived at Key West approximately noon. I believe we were off the ship by 12:30 pm. The Magic will SLOWLY makes it way to Key West, you will notice the ship slowing as we get closer to port.

Can't wait to meet all of you.

Jan

Ooops. So much for my "Wonder"-ful information. thanks for the correct info.

Hi, everyone....just checking in after being gone all weekend, with no internet! :scared1:

And I saw there were like 4 pages of posts!! Fun to catch up.

I am Gretchen from Georgia (I think I read where someone said Canada?). Anyway, I came in too late to get on the first FE list, and am not on the
second as of yet, just to clear up any confusion! ;)

It seems that when you're busy and going constantly, the time just flies by! I can't believe it's coming up so quickly!! We just got back from having a blast at Lake Jocassee (Devil's Fork state park) in South Carolina. It was so beautiful and such a clean lake! And it seems like we will be super busy all the way up to the day before we leave!! We have my grandson's first birthday on Sept 17 in the evening!!! :scared1: Yikes! I guess we'd better have everything packed up the night before that, or it will be a very late night! DD6, Isabella, starts recorder class tomorrow morning (it's kinda like a flute for anyone, like me, who had no idea what a "recorder" was), and also her first day of ballet in the evening!!

I have actually gotten quite a bit of stuff packed up to go. I just felt better after that, ya know? It feels like something was accomplished! :cool1:

Welcome to Bill and family, as well as Kimberly and family!! :welcome: Thanks for joining our group! Can't wait to meet everyone!

Anyway, busy day tomorrow, so off to bed!

Well we did it! We told the kids. What a exhausting weekend though. I will post how we did the big reveal when I download my pictures. The kids were excited and keep getting more excited all the time. Bishop kept asking if we could leave today. He says that 2 weeks is "such a long time." ....glad I didn't tell them when I first booked it....16 months ago.
They are also super excited to email their new friends that I told them about. They kept asking to do it last night but I told them that they had to wait. I am so tired.
We went to my Mom's for a pool party (told my family about the trip then). Some of my family was here from Nova Scotia. It was nice to see them after so long. We didn't get home until 10:30. By the time that we put the kids to bed and set up the treasure hunt we didn't get to bed until after 1:30. The next morning the treasure hunt took a little over a hour and then after talking about everything, we went for groceries, put them away and made lunch. After lunch we gave Brooklyn her pirate costume ( which she did not know about and was upset that she didn't have one) and tried on Bishop's to make sure that it fit. We then found costumes for the MNSSHP. After that we sat down to watch POTC movie. Today we are looking at some videos about the trip and packing, cleaning and finishing our magnets
