9/19/09 Western Magic

Wahoo!!! We got an upgrade from an 8 to a 6. We are now in room number 6548. That was some short lived jealousy. :yay::yay::yay:

Bought a 6, finally got assigned a 6
My SIL and BIL are still in their original cat 11 they booked back in February - no upgrade for them (yet?) I think we may try to buy them an upgrade at port

That is AWESOME Rosemary! I would have liked connecting but I am so happy to just be close to the teens, we'll be fine!

You guys just have ONE FE to hang is that correct? I notice you only posted one stateroom number. We have TWO cabins and ar just doing ONE FE. ust making sure I have it down right in my notes. or are you cruisign with another family that has a FE? Sorry to be so confused! :confused3

Very happy for you though! Man, was I tired of waiting to hear!

Yes we are doing 1 FE. It is me, DH, DS6, DS18mo, my mom, and nephew 17

curious, where your ressies linked? is your assigned cabin near there cat 11 if so?

Hey all- I am in the "you get what you pay for" category 12.... room #2037. I'm just so very glad to be on the boat and know where I'm going to be! I don't think I ever even ventured to deck 2 on my last cruise, so I'm excited to try something new! I can't remember who right now, but whoever it is in 7129 and the other... you're gonna love being there- it's so close to all the restaurants, the drink station, and the secret deck! I was in 7136 on my last one and actually had 7129 booked but then saved almost $500 when I downgraded to a cat 12! Enjoy! ;)

Thanks Rosemary for the clarification. I thought i remembered you had boys close to my boys ages. (DS17, DS6) No baby here anymore though! And am now realizing the 17 year old is a nephew. What a great Aunt you are!

That's my family NVcruiser and thanks for those words! I had forgotten about the drink station, that's an added bonus for our family for sure.

Glad you have a good attitude about your Cat12, someone has to be booked in them right? I was for sure it was my crew so even cat11 is a big deal for us but we would have sailed cat12 happily too. I had steeled my mind for it I think, so was shocked to see Deck 7 pop up!

Okay, Sinderelly is oviously away from her computer tonight!

And did I miss room numbers for DAvid and Ian or Tink and Cinderella and their parents? hhhmmm, thinking I did see a PM go out from David and Ian, can the list keeper send me a PM if they do not want it listed publically?

And I think maybe I saw Tink &co and just forgot to write them in?

Help me please Paige! Oh you organizer extraordinair (that does not look spelled right at all:upsidedow) . :worship:

kim - pmed you!!

Also what about ChrisLei...they are still on right or did I miss something???

Sinderelly must be away...Kathy where are you today??

FE List (1st group) updated on the Yahoo group under "files"!!

Congrats to all those who got a little pixie dust, and sorry to hear about those who didn't. Both dh and I thought our room number sounded familiar, I just checked my pictures from our last Disney cruise, and we are right next door to out last room. When I booked, i had booked our original room, and now I am one away from our last room. So excited to finally have a cabin number.

Congratulations to all on your upgraded room assignments.:banana:

I started a new job today working/volunteering at the middle/high school that my boys attended. We were there for 12 years; our last boys, twins, graduated in 06. Now I am back ministering on campus working with seniors and two other moms in the student store. It is busy and fun and so rewarding at the same time. Good place for this newly transitioning empty nester. We have a large ISP (home school community at the school as well.)

Disneyfanatics my condolences on the loss of your mom-in-law. I have lost so many loved ones to the big C; my heart goes out to you at this time.

Anyone going to MNNSHP on Tuesday, the 15th??? If you are and want to meet up, let me know.

Getting excited as we count down.

Congrats to everyone on the upgrades! That CM was right it was today.

We are in cabin 2083. We got some pixie dust pixiedust:and a split bath. See Kileybeth I'm happy happy and still no dancing banana! :mickeyjum

Now see there Sinderelly, I came back on here just to check and see if you had checked in and what do I get?! Grief from the newlywed!

And I had just finished packaging up your FE gift too. . . :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Just kidding girl! Happy for you! :dance3: See, I'll just dance! none of those pesky monkey fruits for Sinderelly tonight!

I *think* I'm outa here for tonight.

The DH asked me if I could now just be happy we are going and get back to living my life:laughing: Whatever does he mean?! He said now that we all have our cabin assignments we can now start worrying about the weather and hurricain season. I told him I would leave that all to him! I didn't care if my western turned into an easten (well, I care a little bit of course) or if I ended up with 7 sea days (that actual sounds kinda nice except not with all my kiddos along!) I was just happy to be on the Disney Magic!

My big worry left is the whole packing thing. . .:sad2: Not even going there tonight!

I feel accomplished, I printed the FE list, and started matching names and ages that I could come up with. Now after our crazy week, we can begin to assemble our FE gifts. :-)

Got my stateroom assignment today with the rest! It's 6055, cat 11. Not really sure what to expect as this is our first cruise, but from looking at the layout of the ship (and being positive), it looks like it's a good deck, and right in the middle of the ship. Don't know how that will be for noise?? But it should be good for getting around, right? Almost literally midship........:confused3 If anyone knows anything about this cabin/deck, etc., let me know!

Yay to everyone on just finally having a "home" on the ship now! :cheer2:

On to packing now...........:yay:

at the Dreams Unlimited (our hosts for disboards.com), they have room reports...6055 does not hve a report, but 6555 does (and it is the room on the other side of the back wall, so same set-up:

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 6555 Condition: 4
Deck: 6 Category: 11 Location: Mid
Sail Date: 04/24/05
Notes: Awesome! Get off the elevator and make a right into the hallway and then a left and there's your room! First room Right Off The Elevator! Noise Not A Problem, barely heard a thing. Big Room! I was expecting Much Smaller! Bathroom Nice and Clean! Big Tub! Downside: 4 Adult sized lifepreservers stuffed in closet instead of 2 adult 2 child so closet was cramped. Carpet needs to be steam cleaned, Futon cover needs to be replaced. Hubby thought the mattress was perfect. We have a Select Comfort bed at home, so we're hard to please :) Pull down bed and actual bed in futon in great shape. 555 is my lucky number, so I was Very Happy to have been assigned room 6555! Enjoy!

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 6555 Condition: 5
Deck: 6 Category: 11 Location: Mid
Sail Date: 05/22/05
Notes: Cooler was excellent--I put in 10 hot canned drinks at 3:00 p.m. and they were nice and cold by 10:00 p.m. Not noisy at all and VERY convenient to the stairs and elevator. A little cramped when all 4 of us were trying to get dressed for dinner. All the beds and pillows were comfy.

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 6555 Condition: 4
Deck: 5 Category: 11 Location: Mid
Sail Date: 04/05/06
Notes: Room Location was The Best! I loved the idea of being next to the stairs/elevator, but worried about the noise..There was none! Slept like babies! 2 adults/2pre-teens & still comfy. Bed very comfy! I suggest showering in Rain Forest Spa; let kids shower in room so everyone is less rushed and happy :)

Whew! I am finally done with a 11 hour day trying to order curriculum for my homeschool families-bummer is that I am only about half way done. Yikes! Looks like busy days ahead. I had to come to my happy place before going to bed. I am so happy for those of you who got awesome upgrades! We got our room assignments too. We will be in 6547 and we are very happy with the location:cheer2: I guess it was an upgrade of sorts since we booked at cat 12 GTY. Now to catch up if I can

arolrie your pictures are absolutely beautiful. I'm also a fellow homeschooler. Do you think you could give me a few tips on picture taking. My dad is letting me borrow his Cannon Rebel for the cruise. I'm still trying to figure out what I'm doing w/ it.
Is anyone else taking their own snorkels? The boys & I have never snorkeled before so I'm not sure what kind of snorkels would be best. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Soccer season has begun so this will make the weeks fly by. I haven't told the coach about us being gone for the cruise yet. His wife says he was born w/ a soccer ball. I'm afraid he freak at the idea of someone missing at least 2 games. I'm sure he'll survive.
Shelly

Thanks so much for the kind words about my photography! So glad to have another homeschooler aboard. I love to find out what other people are doing with their kids! Of coarse I can give you any tips I have, but I feel like I am still learning so much all the time about photography. The best tip I ever heard is to shoot from your heart:) We are going to bring our own snorkels. HD and I have ones we used when we used to dive, but the kids I just got at Walmart and they were fine the last time we went. You can spend a fortune or not!

Welcome aboard Carol! Wow sounds like we have alot of photography talent onboard. My DH is bringing his Rebel and some other "fancy" camera with the lenses, tripod etc. You can tell I'm really camera savy.

Thanks for the welcome! I'm glad to hear of so many other photographers on board. Maybe we can have a shoot out or a photo session-we could either do DIS families or something else? I seem to never get a good picture with my family because I am always behind the lens. Of coarse I prefer it that way most of the time since I have about 10 pounds to lose:eek:

LoriS - I hope you had a good time at your coops! Cailtin got Cassidy's e-mail and was so excited. She will write back tomorrow:lovestruc Also thanks for the yahoo group link. It is so fun to be connected to fellow cruisers!

Good luck today and let us know how everything goes. We booked this cruise almost a year and a half ago and have kept it a secret from everyone. No one knows except our work. We have a HUGE reveil set up for Sunday.

Wow! You are amazing keeping it a secret that long-now I know who to trust with my deep dark secrets:laughing: I am excited to hear how it goes on Sunday!

Sounds like a great job and I'm sure you will have a great impact on the students there!

It will be a great cruise no matter what happens. One Western we went on never made it to any of our ports except Castaway Cay which we did twice (before they did it on purpose) We ended up on St. Thomas and Puerto Rico. We called it the magical mystery cruise. We were just happy to be out of the storm and on calm sunny seas. The captain did a great job of keeping us in good weather. The funniest part was a man at guest relations YELLING at everyone there about how he wanted a refund because we couldn't make our ports. What in the world did he want??? To go to the ports in crazy wind, rain, and seas?? I don't understand some people:eek: If we would have made our ports like he wanted he would have been miserable!!

Well, off to bed now. One less day before our cruise:cheer2:

WOW! :yay: What a night! Lots of activity on here. Glad you all with GTY's finally got your cabin assingnments. Congratulations to those of you who got upgrades :thumbsup2.

Have a great week.
Dennis

curious, where your ressies linked? is your assigned cabin near there cat 11 if so?

yes our ressies are linked... we are on different floors (we are on 6 they are on 7) in the same general aft area. Hmmm, that may be a reason. then again there may be no reason at all :confused3
