9/19/09 Western Magic

I have a 7 year old dd too as well as a 4year old. She loves the idea of chatting to friends she will get to meet. We've been a bit slack the last couple of months on the boards, but I'm trying to make an effort to post daily now. :)

Welcome carolrie.. glad to have you onboard.

Yes, we too are waiting for a room assignment, it really affects our entire vacation. We are doing a pre trip in Daytona beach and post trip in Orlando, but I can't make any plans until I get a room, because if its a room I'm not too happy about I may pay for an upgrade if its reasonable.. who knows, at this point I'd just really like a room assignment, fingers crossed we all hear by tomorrow. For those who got the call about a payed upgrade, what was on the caller ID, I never answer unknown calls, I hope I haven't missed a call from Disney.

At 10am est on travel channel cruises we love is on, its about shore excursions, I always try to watch any show on cruises.

Gonna run for now, catch up later..everyone have a GREAT day!
Tammy

We are having the BIG reveal and our kids are finding out they are going next Sunday. I would LOVE for our kids to have some email pen pals from the cruise before we leave.

tinkandcinderella and Princessbelle I would defiantly be interested in having my DD start some email letters after we tell her.

gvivanco you have a daughter who is 6 right so she will be in the same club?

kileybeth your DS is 6...the same as my DS. My DS is usually a little shy for the first little bit so it would help already having a friend!

If anyone is interested please PM me or you can email me at jtbbs@rogers.com I think it is a great idea.

Hi!

We just booked this cruise last minute. Looking forward to meeting everyone!
It will be me, DH, DD 11, DD 8.:)
Welcome Carolrie!!! My oldest will be 9 while we are on the cruise, her name is Cassidy, what is your 8 year old name?

OOOOOO, I can't wait to her how the big reveal goes. My girls are almost 6 and 9, and would love to chat with some future playmates.

hello everyone! yep something is causing DCL to lag on the cabin assignments for certain, I read somewhere that travelocity is offering a CAT 12 on our cruise for $599 w/ a $100 OBC so I am assuming they need to fill our ship some.
we have been doing some reading on the MNSSHP tips/tricks post...so I thought I would say hello! oh sorry guess I should say CAKESNJAMMOM here...dh started the MNSSHP research so we are logged on as him!
my kids would love to email and meet too (ds 7 and dd 5)

welcome aboard carolrie!!

open house for school today...kids are excited to meet their teachers!
check in again soon,

I love your hubby's goofy picture. My oldest is a goofy fan.
Things are going to be a bit somber around here for a while. My mother-in-law lost her battle w/ colon cancer this morning. My youngest is having a hard time w/ it. I'm very glad that she's no longer suffering. When we were in GA a few weeks ago to get the boys from my moms it was very hard to see her so much pain. Cancer is such an ugly disease. I'm glad to know that we will have good friends on our cruise to help us have a great time. I'm really glad we found these boards.

Jody, yes, Isabella and Sophie (I hope - if they let her) will be in the same club section. I know Bella would LOVE to meet and "talk". She loves meeting new friends - very social.

I don't know how they do that, though? Just on here, or on our personal emails? Just let me know as soon as you let the cat out of the bag.

Quick post! I survived! It was a LONG night (and weekend, and month!!!) but it was well worth it! Here's a pic of me in front of my 12 foot tall Empire State Building... there are a few other pics in my photobucket... I assume you all can get to those by clicking into the picture... ? I have no clue! If not, I'll add them to another post tomorrow! Night y'all! ;)

Great job!! Glad everything went well.....now you can breathe! :thumbsup2

Thoughts and prayers for your family at this time, especially your youngest. I remember being 12 when my Granddaddy passed (he was 3 days shy of 100!) and I missed him so much and just kept thinking I wanted "just one more time" to see him. Tough age for sure.

Maybe I should turn over a few of my DH Goofy shirts to your older son or Paiges DH's (nice avatar!) since my DH is being so fussy about them!

BTW, great pic of you! Now I know who to look for in the terminal! We are all going to have a blast on this vacation!

How exciting that its nearly time for the big reveal. You must have been hanging out to do this. I would have been so impatient. I'd love to suprise my girls with a trip like this someday.

I'm hoping that both of my girls will be in the same club. Although Sammy is four, she will only be 10 days off turning 5. And like your ds, she is so shy. Very unlike her sister. My email is honnery4@bigpond.net.au if anyone wants to email me.

NVcruiser, you did a fantastic job from the look of those photos. What a lot of work. It must be nice now that its finished to look back at what you achieved, without the stress.

Sorry to hear about your loss gvivanco. Sounds like a difficult time for your family. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

I'm so sorry, I completely feel your pain :flower3:, my mother-in-law died 2 years go at the age of 60 from colon cancer as well just two months after the cancer was diagnosed. His son (my wife's brother and probably the best friend I've ever had) died from kidney cancer at the age or 24 a few years ago.:sad1:

Please let your family know you are all in our prayers.

Hope our cruise will bring a lot of happiness to you and your family.

Dennis

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone:)

disneyfinatics-I am so sorry for your loss:hug:

mamajojo- I am excited to hear about your big unveiling! I want to hear all the details. We are going to do one today.

My girls will go nuts because we weren't planning on this and just booked two days ago. We have been on five disney cruises (yes, I am terrible about setting up signatures) but haven't gone in about three years since I resigned as a school psychologist to stay home and home school my kids. $ has been tight, but I just got a job teaching for a charter school that is perfect for us. I will be teaching at their classical academy two days a week (6,7,8 grade history, science, art, and music) and supervising home schooling families the rest of the the days. So I will be able to still home school my own girls and bring in some income:) I already had a vacation to WDW planned for this time so my new school let me keep it as a condition of hiring. When I looked at cruises for the times I'd actually be off (Thanksgiving, Christmas, Spring Break) I was shocked at the prices:scared1: Wow. That's why we always loved cruising in Sept./Oct. Because of all of that we decided to turn our WDW trip into a cruise and my girls who have been hearing "maybe again some day" are going to freak out when I tell them we can actually go. We are planning on making an invitation for the cruise, putting it in a metal box, and having Dh go to the beach before us and bury it in the sand. Then we are going to have our girls take their metal detectors (they are so funny, they are kids ones I got through National Geographic and they have been "detecting" everything metal around the house for a week now) and go down to the beach for a family walk and "see if we can find anything" Hopefully DH doesn't bury the box too deep- we don't really know how well they work for real detecting through things.

I'd love to hook my girls up with some friends and we are excited to meet everyone as well.

Kileybeth - Thanks for letting me know about the meet ups. We are planning on the 3:00 and will try to check out the 8-9 as well. We usually let the girls swim in the mickey pool first thing. Are there other things planned. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to read through the whole thread yet. I am also a photographer and have been getting my new blog and wedding web site set up. Trying to get it done before I start teaching next week.

LoriS - My 8 year old is Caitlin and she is turning 9 in November (born in 2000) She will be glad to have a friend:)

Thanks again everyone for the warm welcome we are so excited to make this happen:cloud9:
