Sorry that I missed this post awhile back...I think if you want to leave a way for those that may have cabin changes to record them - that will work great. Most of us are staying in the cabins we have so it should only be a few. Maybe (per my previous post) we shouldn't note FE on it and just write cabin changes or something like that? Totally up to everyone and what will work easiest.

DH has got all the 24 "known" cabins marked/plotted on the deck plans to make passing out FE gifts easier. Please send me a "pm" if your cabin number changes or when you receive an assigned number for those who are GTY. I will update it and bring copies with me (one last thing for you to pack!)

Thanks so much for doing this! It wil make it SOOOO MUCH easier! So, everyone - don't forget to PM both of us with cabin number changes/assignemnts so I can keep the list update, too! This will be awesome!

when I was ready to buy a "real" camera, I worked with the significant other for the newspaper photographer...asked her to ask him to go to pawn shops and help me buy a camera....he went around, then started researching on the web and found the site above, with a canon rebel eos/bag/two lenses for a great price (less than I expected to pay at a pawn shop for a used one). AND, on one of my conference trips, I sat next to the photographer for Outdoor Life who had...a Canon Eos Rebel that he used for the magazine....

so, great cameras, great prices

Totally OFF TOPIC but just needed to vent and seek advice.

I am soooo bummed. Target had a Sony A200K DSLR camera on clearance that I wanted for our DS17's upcoming birthday. He is very into photography but we are very into keeping our budget so it was a win-win situation. They camera was on clearance for an unbelivable $349 dollars (lense included) Now I know next to nothing about cameras/photography but I knew a deal when I saw it. I "negotiated" with the employee, very nice kid actually to hold it for 24 hours for me (guess they are not suppose to hold clearance stuff) so I could bring my son back to take a look at it and so I could ask him if it was a good deal/camera whatever. My first major mistake. Note to self: do not trust employees who could care less if an item is gone when you return. ugh. I was sick. BUT we live exactly half way between nowhere and right between everywhere so I convinced my DH and son (who had had no dinner) to hightail it 70 miles, past our house we had just driven 35 plus miles away from an additional 35 miles to the other Target b/c I called and they said they had one! This happened to be a friday night in the summer on a heavily trafficed beach route It was such a good deal though. . .

Don't bother with new luggage if you really don't need it (spend that dough on DOD's instead ). Instead, go to Wally Mart and look in the paint or hardware department for the colored duct tape. I love the stuff and it comes in the greatest colors - purple, red, orange, blue, yellow and a cool hot pink. Just pick up a roll of your favorite color and put it on the handle(s) and you'll be able to ID your luggage easily. Also it won't tear off in the luggage handling process.

Thanks for all the kind words and encouragment with the Camera thing. I am gonna keep looking and see what we can find.

About luggage, that one pic of the back of our van full of motely pieces of luggage is actual quite tame! I never buy black luggage if I can help it. I hate trying to find it on the belt after a flight. The only black case we have is a pilots case with copius white trim and an odd shape. If we didn't love the way that one packed up so well, I wouldn't use it as much either. There are often good deals to be found at places like Burlington Coat Factory, TJMAxx and Marshalls on a few nicer brands. I would say this. We have spent $$$ and $ on luggage and find it suprising what we end up really liking sometimes as well as what holds up. Since some of our luggage has resided in both domestic and international airports for upwards of a month (not even kidding) at times, I usually make sure ours is well labeld inside and out.

I too, love colored duct tape for a multitude of fun things. And Sharpies come in such fun colors these days

okay what is wrong with hot pink luggage. I had no luggage anymore so I brought myself a set of Raspberry luggage. my DS10 who I will of course have to pack for refuses to use "pink" luggage because it is girly. I really like the idea of the duct tape, but I am not covering the whole thing Pixie dust to all for a great week.

I have to laugh at this topic! DH has an obsession with luggage so I have seen it all I think! My best friend needed new luggage and fell in love with this Delsey BRIGHT blue stuff. She traveled to us a few times and took note that she had never seen this color before so it would be so easy to find on the belts! We bought her a large suitcase for Christmas one year and on her return flight she said there were 15 bags the same color as hers and she about died! Now, next to black it seems to be the most popular color!

I tried to post a reply to your camera issue but it seems it didn't send last night! We had a bit of excitment here that distracted me from making sure the post actually took! I came home from getting DH a "snack" and turned the corner of our walk way and there at my door was a HUGE tarantula! Needless to say I had the creepy crawlies all night! Anyway when I go back upstairs I will resend it for ya!

I guess this is also our checking in roll call! I am still working on some of the FE gifts! I keep getting cute ideas in my mind and working up new things! So much for one standard gift per family, they are all turning out different! I mentioned to HC and to Mary that I am making all these gifts so its their jobs to pass them out! Should be interesting since Mary is so shy she might work herself into a stroke over having to put these things into pocktes for fear someone might open the door and say hi!

Nathan picked out a dinner jacket and shorts for a few of our informal dinners. The kid loves to dress up at 4 I am scared to see what he will be like at 16! He also has his tux now. He is all sorts of mad because it has a white vest and tie and he picked out a hot pink one! He doesn't understand that the pink one is on its way! He is also trying his best to get the snorkeling down in our pool. He is hoping that he can go with me and Aunt Mary when we are at Castaway Cay! I was hoping for some time away! God I can't wait for school to start! Come on August 6th!!!!! Lauren's dress is on its way, I am keeping my fingers crossed it isnt huge on her!

Enough babbeling from me! I am going to enjoy my peaceful living room and watch some Law and Order before everyone is up from their naps! Enjoy the week everyone!

yes, well I WAS a bit concerned when we flew into MCO with my youngest DD newest suitcase, It is Minnie red with white polka dots! I was so sure we would see half a dozen of them. NOPE, she was the only one on the belt and boy oh boy where there a lot of jeolous stares going around.

Thanks for the great tip, I have never saw colored duct tape, but again never looked for it. I'll be sure to do that!

kileybeth, hope everything works out with the camera deal, we had a really nice camera that my in laws bought for our 10 year anniversary, this spring I went to use it at my nieces graduation and it wouldn't work, now if I had been smart I would have tried to have it fixed, but no I got mad and threw it, destroying any chance at fixing it, now I have a average fuji in guess what...hot pink! You should see me with weedeaters,the string never wants to stay in, I have threw and broke 3 in the last 2 summers.

We are, all of us. The girls costumes came in the mail on Friday, I am still waiting to order one, and Chris already has one.

DH and I are dressing up for pirate night, not full costumes but a little piratish.

Tammy we got new luggage and the price was VERY good. I researched luggage so much I went through a couple weeks of luggage stress. We ordered the same set I had picked out at Ebags for much less at WalMart.com and had it shipped to the local store free. I got the Travelers San Marino set for $109.88. The set has really high ratings. It's chocolate brown w/ pink trim. The site also has an American Tourister 5 pc set for $79 and it's red!

Monica-Thank you being aware on safety issues with the FE exchange. I wondered if anyone ever had gifts or FE stolen. It almost makes me want to hand the gifts out at the meet. What un-Disneylike behavior!

I finished our FE tonight and we have our official FE suitcase all packed and ready to go! It is stuffed and feels to me like it weighs a ton. DH still thinks it might be below the 50lbs though.

Has anyone checked their online reservation with DCL lately? I just read on another thread that some with Oct 3rd cruise dates have been assigned rooms already who were sailing GTY!

I just checked ours and can sadly report we are still sailing in 2 cat12's still GTY. And I fully expect us to stay there as we only have 3 persons in each cabin and will not need to be moved to even a cat 11.

That's okay though but I do hope we are near each other even though I know we may not be.

I would love for us all to dress up, but I have 2 problems......I don't have any costumes for any of us (and really can't afford to buy them), AND the only night we could get reservations for Palo was that night at either 8:30 or 9:00pm! I made it for 9 because I thought we could take the girls to the pirate themed dinner at least for a little while, then get to Palo. But I was kinda bummed that we would miss the pirate party......someone at Disney customer service told me that you don't want to rush at Palo, and it takes 2-3 hours to eat there. I wasn't sure what to do, but I really wanted to eat at Palo. So.......

I might try to change the reservation time when we embark. The CM on the phone told me to try that. I guess that's my only hope!

We are trying to get costumes together for all of us. We also made the pillow cases for the kids last night to have them signed at GS. They turned our pretty cute.


I received a call from the Dr. Friday night and had to see him yesterday. They have set a date for my next surgery and it could not have worked out any better if I had planned it ( which work might think I did ). The surgery will be August 14th and I will be off work for 4 weeks, which is the day we leave for Disney, so I will be going right from sick leave into vacation. I should be fine by then and ready to enjoy everything! I am so happy. I was worried that I was going to miss out on the fun because I would still be feeling unwell.
