9/19/09 Western Magic

Lcrain and myself)tonysmom6093 would like to take part in the postcards, magnet idea. great idea.

we won't be able to book excursions until July 6 either, so pixie dust this way if you would be so kind.

mamajo, good luck with your surgery we will miss reading your posts

welcome all newcomers. Thanks to everyone who has been the "keeper of the lists" :dogdance:

the question did get put out there on this thread and most vetoed a 9:30pm meet as too late, also I think we talked about 3pm before but it never got voted in either.

could also do multiple meets. . .come when you can, no harm if you miss one or two? :confused3

My DH will have my head if I schedule to much to do with others though besides relaxing and spending time with each other and the kiddos! I best behave.:sad2: Haven't mentioned lime green bracelets to him yet, he will responde better to "Here honey, put this on, it means we get special perks from all my Disfriends. . .":rolleyes1

Hi There "Tony's Mom!" I also have you down as sharing a cabin with your sister, Lisa and participating in our FE! woo-hoo!

Can't wait to meet everyone! Seeeya Real Soon!

Kim

Just an opinion on the greet - we can move it earlier to 8:30 thumbsup2 We have early seating but of course not sure WHICH one yet but will be done by then. But anyone can get to the Promenade Lounge at any time between 8-9 to "start" it and everyone can just come when they can.

If there is a 3:00 its an ok time but if some don't get to board until later they will be rushing from eating to see their stateroom and then some may have some refreshments in their cabin, etc. There is also the Safety Drill that everyone must attend at 4:00 (I think or 4:30) and then the Sail Away Party that you want to have a great spot for, etc. :thumbsup2

Also, we have used the LIME GREEN Mickey Heads (sample color at Home Depot paint section) that are FREE and attached those with our DIS Name before to us and family members.

Just some thoughts from our previous cruises :)

I think multiple meets is a great idea - it would give more options and that way if something comes up and you have to miss one - there may be another you can make :thumbsup2 We have a big traveling party (15), too and I am sure we will be busy doing stuff with them as well and not all are DISers so that may adjust our schedule, too :)

We will bring a post card and a magnet from the jersey shore:)

Sinderelly-- Congrats on your wedding!! Your dress is beautiful!:bride:

We have late dinning, so we will be late to the meet

I will be staying up to get my ressie for Palo :cool1:

We have late dining so I know we won't be there at 9:00. I am up for an afternoon meet, or even in the terminal.

All those in favor of also having a 3:00 meet somewhere on Saturday say Ay! :thumbsup2

This way everyone has a chance to go to at least one of the meets, and don't forget I will also be in the terminal early and more than happy to chat and mingle then :)

Also, if any of your returning cruisers can suggest a good location for this...will the promenade lounge be available then as well?

I hope this isn't stepping on any ones toes, I just don't wanna miss out on meeting any of you fine people because my extreme addicition to food takes over and I have to get escorted from the dining room...."ma'am you have to leave now, there's no food left, you ate it all...." :guilty:

Thoughts?!

Holly :bride:

:thumbsup2 to all of the above!

We are all going to look for Holly with her rockin' lime green 'string" necklace of our silicone glowing bracelets around her beautiful neck or arm or where ever they land and meet and greet her until she wishes someone else had volunteered. . . no, we will be nice, just don't run out of goodies:rotfl2:

then at 3pm I  the idea of meeting at the self serve ice cream machines where ever they may be as at least I know I could drag my family there fairly easily:rotfl: and it will have to be a fairly "short" meet as we will all need to get back to our cabins (or bring your vest along ahead of time) to make it to our "life saving stations" (hhhmm, I'm thinking ice cream is pretty life saving sometimes. ..) for the drill at 4pm. What say you all to that?

And finally for those arriving on board later, *8:30pm* and forward (9,9:30pm or whenever you wander in) in the Promanade Lounge per the above posted diagram so both early and late diners can make an appearance without missing out on to much food on either end!

Comments, concerns, questions, corrections all welcome.

I think adding another chance for a meet at 3 is a great idea and since it's very casual - those that can make it - great! That way there is no pressure to try to rush for any of the meets :thumbsup2

The ice cream machine is located on Deck 10 close to the Mickey Pool so it may be a little busy right there if alot are swimming but should be a good place to start but keep in mind - depending on where your cabin is will be how you know where to head for the Safety Drill and you Must have your lifevest on for the drill so leave enought time to get back to your cabin for that and to see where you need to head for the drill :)

Looking forward to finding Holly in the Port with her STRING of Lime Green:rotfl: and if we can get the Lime Green Mickey Heads and attach them to lanyards, etc. - we will be easy to spot, too! I will get some for my family :)

Midnight Saturday is approaching quickly! We are have a Pre-Cruise get-together at our house with the friends in our neighborhood that are cruising with us so that is the perfect end to that day:yay::woohoo:

dennismcneely; thank you for the additional waverunner information; it sounds like a wonderful experience.

mamajojo: although you are absent due to surgery you are in our thoughts for a great recovery and better health

we have late dining and I read dinners take up to two hours so not sure we would make an evening meet. The bracelets will be a great help in identifying Disers.

I think I will show up at eight or just before so I can try and hand out as many of those bracelets as possible before I waddle off to dinner :) Then, after dinner I will pop over and see if anyone is left. Wouldn't it be cool if some of us were sat together?! I would be SO excited!!!

That's a good idea, I will see if I can snag some of those, not that it won't be obvious who I am once people see a distinctly green glowing haze off in the corner :rotfl:

Thanks for the tips :) Keep the good ideas coming everyone!

Holly

We have late dining as well so, it is OK :thumbsup2 for us to meet at the terminal or on the ship any time before the safety drill. We are planning to leave our hotel in Orlando at 9 so we will be at the termimal at about 10:30.

Dennis

Hello fellow cruisers :) I, Holly, need YOUR help! :worship:

Can anyone help me with transportation? Steve and I decided not to go with the Disney busses from Wilderness Lodge to the Port because we won't get there until much later, and obviosuly we wanna be there as early as possible. And we can't take the transportation from Port to the airport becaue we have a 12:00 flight that we absolutely cannot miss (have to fly back for a wedding!). Has anyone used outside transportation and had success? We won't have a car rental so that's out...if anyone can help us figure out what the cheapest most effective way to get from the WL to the port on Saturday would be, I would be forever grateful! THANKS TO ALL OF MY DIS FRIENDS!

Holly :yay:

I love the ideas! :thumbsup2 I think having more than one meet gives us more options. We plan to be at the port early also. We are staying at CIS the night before.

We will look for Holly and her "green glow" hmmmm...Tinkerbell? :tinker:

Has anyone started packing yet? We have one suitcase packed (full) with FE gifts but have a few more to add.

I've got late dinner as well, so plan on me being in the lounge late... of course I'm a night owl, so it's no big deal for me to be up late! I may also try to check out the earlier meet, but there's no promises there... top of my agenda is going to the dining request place to see if my favorite head server will be onboard and if I can be in his section... Can't wait to be hanging out with y'all! ;)

I would be more than happy to pick you guys up at WL and take you to the port. We have rented a standard size car (pontiac G6) and we are 2 adults and a 7 year old, so I suppose that there would be enough room for all us.
My only concern is the luggage, not sure if the trunk will be big enough to hold all our bags plus 200 lime green bracelets :)

If there is any way we can help you, please let us know.

Dennis

We're on late dinner seating too so 8:30 pm meet wouldn't really work for us either, but if we're going to pick up wrist bands in the port we can meet as we go round and arrange other times.

For the roll call on Friday night, what time is it starting as we are 5 hours ahead of most of you? Also maybe we should all try and have pics of ourseleves and our families that way we all know what each other looks like for when we meet?

Oh my goodness!!! I would never have expected this! I would love that...although, I too have the same concern...that dirty word...luggage, lol. I do not know much about the trunk capacity of a G6...though I wouldn't mind putting a suitcase on my lap if it meant I got a ride from a fellow Dis'er! What a glorious treat that would be! Where are you coming from and what time were you planning on leaving for the port? A million times thank you :) This is why I love Disney, it truly brings out the best in people!
