Glad you like the planning journal it's taking us some time to pull it together. Not sure how many pics we'll have as the wedding is the thursday before we sail but we'll see what we can do.

Thank you for all the warm hello's and the welcome...to the thread. We are very much looking forward to once again sailing on the Magic.

Welcome aboard Denise an family, my girls are both celebrating b-days on board they will be 6 and 9 and 9/20 and 9/25. When is your Dad's b-day?


My dad's birthday is on September 21, 2009 and he is turning 83. We are also celebrating my mom's birthday who is 71 in a few weeks after the cruise. My parents are the kind that while I was growing up never spent any money... they worked hard, raised three kids, and in my mother's early 40's she became very ill... the doctor told my father that she could not go on working the way she had... we never had family vacations.... EVER...

So in 1980 - I was 12 at the time, my parents moved the five of us from Europe to Canada. My dad was a Canadian citizen and my mother was not...and still isn't .. After that neither worked again and as their senior years approached they have been living on a fixed income... so after much convincing, they finally allowed us to take them on this trip...

I think I am more excited about showing my parents Disney and the cruise then anything else,,, I hope we have good weather as my mom in particular is fearful of flying,, and is already having nightmares about the ship sinking and sharks nibbling at her feet.. LOL

I am not sure who to respond to, I would like to participate in the fish extender and any other fun things that you are organizing that would enhance and make this trip more special.

We are in cabins 6500 and 6510

Is anyone oganizing a stateroom tour??? We missed one of these on one of our previous cruises, and I heard that the Walt Suite was one of the staterooms..

Please (to whomever the brave soul is) order 6 bracelets for us, and please let us know how and to whom we pay.

Hello Denise!

We are still voting on that one and the reason we had put it out there was because we had just had someone "fall-off" of our list since they had 2 cabins and are now down to one and we had a previous cut-off date.

So, I will again...send this out to everyone to vote on since I am just the "keeper of the list" and certainly not the one to make decisions on everyone's behalf

Anyone have additional thoughts on more additions? If we add these 2 more (and add back in the cabin for davey) - we will be at 35 cabins.

Another option is that if there are some that just want to participate in the ones that were previously on the list and no additional cabins - we can "FREEZE" the list for those and they would just go with what they have and not deliver or received gifts with any cabins after the "frozen" point. We did this on my 4-night cruise since some were on a tighter budget for gifts, etc. Please let me know if you want me to do that and I can make a note on the list.

Just let me know what you guys all think and I will make changes as needed to the list but I honestly think we need to have an "absolute" cut-off just so it doesn't get too crazy and people can finalize their gifts since we are getting much closer

Monica, what a job we have put on your shoulders. Just holler "Uncle" if you need help! I vote yes to both of the additions because when push comes to shove, I guess I am just a softie! I DO think we will eventually have to say no and that is gonna be oh so hard to do!

Can I request somethign of phish girl? I know she is no longer on our cruise but I thought perhaps she was a personal friend of someone here? (Am IO remembering correctly?) I guess I can PM her. It might help (me personally but others as well) if she could edit that very first post to our meet thread. Lots of our names are not on there so it is completely invalid. If she could just edit to add something like "this list is invalid" It is updated in post#___" in bold capitals or a large font or something like that? I think it may also discouage newer additions from thinking it is still open? IDK

I haven't been here in the last couple days as new DH and I have been working on our FE gifts. We just finished a "trial packing" of all our FE gifts. It's just as we "feared" a whole suitcase full!

Welcome to all our new fellow cruisers! It will be just the two of us on the cruise (Jim and Kathy). We will be celebrating our honeymoon.

I need to read and catch up on all the posts.

I'd originally planned to have a couple extra gifts, so 35 was my "magic" number (I'm a multiples of 5 kind of girl!) so I am ok with 35 cabins being the absolute cut-off...

Kathy, I hear you on the FE bulk. I am planning on shipping a box ahead to the ship. No way I can stuff anything else into our van with 6 people. No idea how I will get all the souvies and FE gifts back home yet!

So I am also thinking I need to budget (who am I kidding! that went out the window awhile ago) some monies for ironing once I unpack on board. I think I also decided that DD4 will only be taking one, maybe two princess dresses along with her and then instead for formal and semi formal night she will wear one or two of her David's Bridal dresses instead (white floor length and a seamist green tea length one). They are a good bit less itchy and hot to wear. The heat, humidity and packing room will dictate I suppose. The rest of us will have a modified dress up attire (much to my DH delight) for much the same reasons. We won't be the fanciest family (leaving that to Paige's crew, you guys will be smashing!) on board but my teens and DH are so much happier. What can I say, they are a casual bunch!

Do tell, what's a stateroom tour? Sounds like fun to me! I really like to dream "she says from her 2 cat12 GTY's!!!"

Anyone is planning to book waverunners (AKA watercraft personal or double) at CC?
I did it (see picture below)during our Sept 2008 cruise on the Wonder and was SO MUCH fun. Actually, one of the highlights of our trip. If anyone is interested, please let me know and we could try to book the same time frame if it's available.
Just 8 days to start booking excursions and activities for CC members!!!

dennismcneely: I really like your picture at Castaway Cay with you riding the waverunner. I would love to try this but have had no experience. I have a relative who broke her arm on it so I have always been hesitant to try. Any tips?

Magical_Tink, I did the watercraft personal eco tour during our cruise in Sept 2008 and had a BLAST!!! It was actually one of the highlights of our cruise. I think it is a must do at CC. I can't wait to do it again on our Sept 2009 western cruise, I am seriously thinking about doing it twice!! We had rough seas because of TS Hannah and jumping through the waves was SO much fun as well as a bit scary. Those waverunners go much faster than I expected and sometimes it was pretty hard to follow the guide. There is a small compartment under the handlebar that can be used to keep your camera or maybe your sunglasses. For all of you planning to do this activity, I would strongly recommend to wear any type of water shoes like crocs or something like that, I wore my crocs and did not have any problem, however, my brother in law did not wear any kind of shoes and ended up with several small cuts on his feet. there is kind of a coral, with very sharp edges, that you have to walk on to get from the waverunner to the beach of the island that you will be taken during the excursion. If you feel like doing it, go ahead and book it!. Please think that you don't need to ride a waverunner to break an arm, you can break it even without leaving your house
