9/19/09 Western Magic

I guess I will be the first to answer the roll call. Four months today and the magic will begin!!!!:woohoo::cloud9::dance3::cheer2: I can't wait.:yay::yay::yay::yay::yay: We will be making our final payment this week. I just need to call the TA and find out exactly how much is still owing:confused3

I'll be the second then :) Cruise paid in full since February(took advantage of the weaker $) :cool1: Looking forward to booking excursions, Palo, etc. :dance3:
Also looking forward to meet some of our fellow cruisers.

Y'all have a GREAT DAY!

Dennis

3rd for me. We paid in full a while back but added the REAS package so I paid for that last week. I ordered my US Dollars last night and can collect that in the next few days. Woohoo. I also got my package from DCL in the mail last Friday. So that was exciting. I rang DH to tell him and he made me wait for him to get home from work before I opened it.
I did buy some really nice shoes to wear with my dress on formal night. I really really liked them. But we got a new puppy (7months old) just over a week ago so the shoes are no more. Needless to say, I was not impressed. At the rate he is going, he might not see 8 months. So far, apart from the shoes, he has eaten Diamond Castle Barbie, Ariel Barbie and Ken as well as my shoes. We've also lost two toothbrushes, a doll from the dollhouse, a pillow and the princess hat that we bought in Disneyland in 2005.

4th check in! :goodvibes After reading some of the above posts, I never put much thought into how much planning it must be for cruisers/vacationers that come from out of the US. Exchange rates, US dollars! :worship: WOW! Anyway, FE gift is pretty much done, have some final touches to do, final payment made yesterday, hotel-done, yep-I am ready-let's go!:yay: How many days left??

Happy only four months to go day!!!!! :cheer2:

Only four months to go tells me I need to get moving on more planning and FE gifts.

Princessbelle-You need to feed that puppy so he won't eat up all your stuff. If he happens to be a Chow I'll take him. pluto:

Morning Everyone! I'm 5th to check-in! :thumbsup2

amazing since the DIS would not let me on for most of the morning:confused3 I could get on and read but could not post or log in? That has never happened before in all the years I've been on the boards!
Little nerve racking this close in to our big vacation! I need you guys!

So it sounds like everyone is finishing up paying for their cruise. With final payment due right around the 4th of July (considering the holiday and a weekend) I will be charging the balance to our Disney Visa the 3rd of the month when our new cycle kicks in. Mickey will get my money soon enough! :rotfl::

I've been grinning at our FE list and imagining all the little ones at various ages and their reactions to "Christmas stockings in September on a Ship" which is just what it feel like to me! What fun!

I am thinking at this point since we are 1st timers and can't book until 75 days out, I may just stick with my plan to get to Port nice and early embarkation day and book Palo from there. I have heard they normally have plenty of seatings available first thing. I still have to decide brunch or dinner as the budget says only one. I actually think we may enjoy brunch more.

Do you veterans think I'll be able to find all the "places" I need to go to do so? Things like checking kids into clubs/making reservations for Palo, getting rainforest passes/ etc. I must take better notes! The info is all here on the DIS but I read it and think "oh, I will remember that" or "oh there will be good signage". I am prone to write up a "schedule" for that first day but my DH and kids really, really like to wing it and I have had to ditch all my hard work so many times at WDW b/c they just wanted to do something else last minute:rolleyes: I just don't want them to miss out but I also know we will be somewhat overwhelmed and fascinated at the same time and just want to explore. :confused3

Lots on my mind today but no one but my DIS friends to share it with. Everyone else in my family will want to think about this about September 5th or so, I kid you not! Everytime I try to get an opinion out of them they let me know they are more concerned about stuff this week and next not all the way in the fall. :sad2: Except my babies! My DS6 and DD4 are both over the moon about this trip and keep my excitement going.

Ramble over! Carry on with ROLL CALL! woo-Hoo 4 monhths today!

Checking in for roll call :) As I said yesterday I am paid in full on the cruise portion and getting closer to being paid in full for the land portion too :) I have been so extremely busy lately, the wedding is less than 4 months away and I have so much to do still. Between that and planning for the honeymoon and trying to find my newly graduated fiance (with a dual Masters) a job I am going bonkers! I am anxiously awaiting June 6th which I *think* is the 105 day out mark and I can make my reservations and such. We have finally made some decisions and it's looking like this for now:

We decided that for Castaway Cay we are most likely going to go with the Extreme Getaway package and that at Cozumel Steve will do the Certified Scuba Tour and I will do the Jungle Hike Expedition. The reason we chose the Getaway package at CC was because we definitely wanted to do the Stingray Adventure, most likely would go biking, wanted to snorkel and thought, hey, what the heck, maybe we could bob around in the ocean in a floatie for awhile :) The Cozumel choices were a bit tougher. First of all, we needed to make sure Steven was qualified. He is PADI certified but it says in the fine print that you have to have gone on a dive in the last two years. The only dive he has done in the last two years was the DiveQuest one at Epcot. So I called and checked with them and they said he would be fine, that it counted as a dive! Yay :) I finally settled on the Jungle Hike after a bit of wavering back and forth but am happy with my choice, it is something nice and low key and I hope I will enjoy it.

We decided not to do excursions at the other two ports and just walk around or relax ion the boat...it is our honeymoon after all! :rolleyes1

Hope everyone else is as excited as we are!!!

Holly

Here Teacher, I'm here!!!! Only 4 months! Gosh, I'd better get moving! I'm nowhere near as prepared as the rest of you all! But, our big concert was last night, I take my last college final tonight, and then I can focus on cruizin! Happy May (roll call) day! ;)

does this make me number 8? we too are PIF and I have also done some padding of the on board account too. guess I need to get going
and book the hotel for Friday night.. already have plane tickets...

may look at the Hyatt.. all I really want is shuttle to the airport to get our DME bus and free brekkie....

For the Hyatt, it is located in the airport, so then you just need to go down and get on the DME, no shuttle needed. We did the day room there last time and it was really convenient to get food in the food court as well, just right off the elevators! Hope that helps!

I lurk most of the time trying to get alot of information before asking questions that have been answered many times. We have been waiting to pay off the trip until July but is there a reason most pay early? I have done very little planning but have enjoyed finding pictures for door decorations. It is just DH and myself but it looks like we are not the only couple aboard. I wish we could get a gang of family and friends to join us. Looking forward to meeting Dis members.

I guess that makes me lucky number 10(maybe) I lost count, I have been paid in full since February and am trying to save for everything else as that months go by they are going fast(thank god) Happy roll call day everyone. Hope the next four month rolls on by quickly so that we can all meet face to face

I have an FE list question. I hope I didn't miss the answer if it's on this thread.

For those with GTY ressies and no assigned cabin numbers. I know the plan is to update the FE list aprox. 30 days in advance.

What if room numbers change after the 30 day mark? I've read cabin assignments can change again 2 weeks out or even at the port. I've read about that happening for GTY reservations and for those that already have a cabin #. :confused3

Will the list be updated at the onboard meet or will there be an assigned cabin door for any new updated info?

I have a case of OBCTP! :rotfl:

They sale a bitter apple spray at Petco that has been working for my foster hound. So far we've lost 1 planter, 1 shoe, 2 firepit covers, 1 plant, 1 joke book, 1 (UGLY!!!) zombie action figure, 1 dinner, & more pencils than we care to count. That was before the spray, obviously can't do the food, but it still helps.
Shelly

I almost forgot, we got our kit this past weekend. I know there's not much to it, but it's very exciting for a first time cruiser. I can't wait to get the one w/ the luggage tags! Stupid I know, but oh well.

So Hello everyone!
As my husband (jonesing) said yesterday we are booked on this cruise!!! Although I love the day countdown it seem soo far away I prefer the fact that it is only 4 months away!!! Anyway I noticed the Fish hanger post and would love to get all of us involved! LOL That’s right I tend to just pile all the people in my room into things like this!
A bit about me/us! We currently live in Tucson! And yes its HOT! And yes it is a dry heat but its still HOT! I hate heat so this is just about the most wonderful place in the world for me! I am from Delaware and miss it terribly! I am a SAHM and most days I enjoy it! I am was jewelry designer before the kids and I enjoy working with my hands! I like to think I am crafty! The husband can speak for himself so I wont go into his details!
We have two little ones! Nathan will be 4 at cruise time and he is a doll but a handful! If anyone has shy kids he is the one to make friends with them for sure! He plans on spending time away from us hanging out with his friends so that is great for me!! Lauren will be 21 months at cruise time. She is a giggler for sure! She is so in love with her big brother which can be good and bad!
Our 5th cruiser is my best friend! You will see us call her my sister simply because we are more then friends! We have known each other since birth pretty much! I am an only child and she is the only girl and baby of her family! She travels with us and is usually referred to as the other wife! She is extremely shy which I feed off of and tend to push her out to be more social! For a shameless plug she is 34 and single! That’s right I am pimping her out a little!
I noticed someone else from AZ so we are not alone! I keep getting asked why we would plan a cruise/vacation when it will be VERY hot in Fla and our ports of call! I laugh at them and remember we have had several days of 100+ degree heat and its only May!!! Anyway I will try and keep up with the board! Not sure I can get to the back pages but moving forward should be easy! Let me know if any help is needed for anything fun!

Amy

Roll call:cool1: Checking in. I have been paid in full for a couple of weeks and am trying to save up money although surprise car problems have not helped  Anyway can't wait:banana::banana::banana::rotfl2:

Lisa:upsidedow:cool2:

I am here for our 4 month check in. You guys all seem to be much more prepared at this point then we are. We not even close to paid off, and I have yet to begin planning for FE gifts. I do have formal dresses for my DD's though, here is a picture.

As far as me, the diet begins next week, now that things are going to slow down a bit for the summer. I look forward to meeting everyone soon.

Thanks for the FE list. I put it in my binder with all our other cruise "stuff". Now I can finish ordering my FE supplies. :goodvibes

Tammy-I tried to reply to your email but it came back undeliverable.

We are also flying in the day before, renting a car and driving to the CIS in Port Canaveral.

Congrats on the final and almost final payments everyone. We made our final payment with the tax refund check. It sure feels good to be paid in full! :yay:

I can't wait to see those tickers with 3 months plus to go. 3 months seems like it's just around the corner. My head is spinning..FE gifts, packing, magnets, excursions, Palo and the WEDDING! :bride:

Don't undertand why the email didn't go through but thanks for letting me know.

Holly, my dh David is certified and dives everytime we cruise but I can't swim therefore he goes alone. He wants to dive Cozumel this time because this will make our 3rd trip there and he has never been diving there. When you dive you always have to have a buddy so if Steve wants maybe David and he could be buddies for the dive.
Tammy

LoriS, your dd's look adorable..love the dresses.

Roll Call, I'm just checking in, been busy with my 2nd job, almost had the cruise paid for then my dh car started acting up, a hose came loose and spilled out all the transmission fluid, ended up having to replace the radiator. Always something but at least it wasn't as serious as we first had thought. Still busy with FE, have some great ideas. Anyways will go for now, everyone have a great night.
