:welcome: aboard cdfl30, so good to have more people joining us. I looked at your photos and I have to say that they are SO good :thumbsup2:thumbsup2, congrats! I especially like the pictures of Rum Point, since we are planning to go there during our Grand Cayman day in Sept. Do you know if there are waverunners available for rent? Any good place to have lunch? I thank you in advance for your help.

Looking forward to sailing with you all.

Dennis

Thank you for your compliments! Rum Point was the highlight of our trip. My only complaint is that we couldn't spend more time there.

The sport rentals are run by Red Sail Sports who also organizes the DCL Rum Point Beach Adventure Excursion. They had one or two waverunners available for rent. The prices are in the brochure I have link to below. If you do the excursion through Disney, they give you a 10% off coupon for the sport rentals. The disney excursion also includes lunch at the Wreck Bar which is on the beach. Each person gets one menu item and a glass of water or iced tea. My sandwhich was very good and all the food on other people's tables looked yummy as well :) Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks so much for the info and the links to Red Sail's brochure, Yes, we are planning to do the Rum Point excursion through Disney, So good to know that lunch is included. We are also planning to do any kind of dolphin encounter/swim in Cozumel, DD Madison (7) thinks that that would be SO COOL!

You all take care,

Dennis

Welcome to all the newbies. I wish I lived near Port Canaveral, I'd cruise as often as I could even if it meant just a 3 or 4 night RCCL or Carnival (since they are cheaper). I have sailed with both but prefer Disney overall and RCCL in 2nd, but with the military discount we get from carnival we could get a 4 night cruise for as low as 200pp inside. I wish Disney would do that for us since we are past military..not active. Anyways those that our first time cruisers, be prepared to get hooked.

Paige, hope you get everything straightened out with your house. That is odd for a new home to have such problems, I'm sorry to hear that and sending pixie dust your way.

I received the FE list awhile back but am not listed on the first page, but I am on the list. I have been buying a few things here and there when I see something everyone would enjoy. This is my first time partcipating in this and I am excited about it.

We went on the rays, reefs and rum point excursion in GC through nativeway. For those that have never been to Stingray city, you otta try it. I was against it at first, for one I can't swim and was frankly scared of the rays, but it along with Rum Point was a highlight of my RCCL mariner cruise in 09/2006. I stayed on the boat while the others snorkled, and got a bit sick for all the boat rocking, but once we got to Rum Point, I ate (their food is good), I started to feel better, and it is really a lovely and quiet area.

happy to report that dh job haspicked up a little, he actually got some overtime and may even get his old job back (higher pay grade), fingers crossed. I hope the economy is finally picking up as the gas prices sure are. We may even get to do another pretrip to Daytona, if not maybe a few extra days at cocoa beach, for those that do this, which hotel is the best and is cocoa beach area fairly nice? We normally stay in Daytona at the oceanwalk by wyndam and
love it, then after the cruise
we go to Orlando and this year we have the free tickets to universal that was offered as a promo during the superbowl, anyone else get this?

Anyways everyone have a great day!

just wanted to pop in and say that the FE list is also posted on the Yahoo site for members of that group too!;)

thanks for all the well wishes! I need 'em!

Welcome and I cannot wait to take the time to look at your photos!
Yes...tell me what your favorite part was from your last cruise!

Off the ship, my favorite experiences were Rum Point in Grand Cayman and Castaway Cay. Key West was just ok, I thought it was a little too "touristy". The Keys in general are beautiful but the city of Key West is just not my thing. In September, we will probably try a water sport excursion to enjoy the beautiful water in the area. Its an awesome experience cruising into the area, the water gradually changes from dark blue to a beautiful teal. Nassau was just Nassau... Its the third time I've been in the last six months and it just doesn't impress me. I was looking forward to Cozumel but I completely agree with Disney's decision to avoid it. Hopefully in September, we will get to go there.

On the ship, I enjoyed absolutely everything. The crew were so friendly and accomodating. The food was all good, especially Palo! We didn't have Palo reservations prior to the cruise but boarded early and easily got both dinner and brunch reservations. Thanks to our wonderful Palo server Laura, we got to have a second dinner there later in the week :) On the other nights, we ate dinner at Topsiders instead of the dining rooms. We loved picking our own dinner time, eating at a table to ourselves and having a nice quiet dining experience. The menu was a limited version of what was in the dining rooms that night but we always managed to find something good to eat from it. We slacked when it came to shows, parties, events, etc... We had every intention of doing so but found ourselves so exhausted from too much sun and swimming. Next time I plan to get a little more rest during the day so I'm not too exhausted to attend the evening's events.

I am looking forward to starting the planning process again, anticipation is so much fun :)

any couples cruising in there late 20's without children. Me and my dfi have never been on a cruise before and know the quality disney gives. Just wondering if anybody in our age range cruising.

Paige-I hope everything goes well with your house. pixiedust: Is there a builder's warranty? Our house was built Dec. 08 and under Indiana code we have a 2 year builder's warranty. The warranty covers anything related to structural damage. Those nasty little termites could sure cause that.

Monica-Thank you for clarifying the list that was PM'd by Paige is the most recent updated. I really appreciate all your and Paige's hard work on the list. :thanks:Now I can't wait to go shopping!

Candis-I am really enjoying reading your posts on your recent cruise experience. This wonderful place called Castaway Cay must really exist. :mickeyjum

See you in 130 days :woohoo:

Thanks a bunch for the welcome

I'm just trying not to get obsessed. But reading the boards and planning (and planning and planning) keep me from getting all depressed about the economy's effect on my business

I just wanted to clarify but the last FE list I got was at the end of March. Is there another one? Sorry to be a bother but just want to double check.

Welcome, I just turned 30 a few weeks ago and dh is 31, miss the 20's though..lol. Anyways no children here, we took our first cruise in 2004 on the mouse and loved it, seldom seen the kids on the ship and lots of grown up fun, you'll love it!

If you'll excuse the horrible pun, DH & I are kind of in the same boat as you, leelip1982...first time cruisers, late 20's (ok, ok, we're cruising to celebrate my second 29th birthday, but DH is 28, so we sort of count), no kids, picked Disney because, well, they're Disney! 'nuff said, right? :)
