9/19/09 Western Magic

Welcome LCrain and all the newbies.

KileyBeth your DH should just sleep and know he will get there faster lol. Sounds like a big party at the CIS. I've been looking on restaurant.com w/ the discount code to find a cool restaurant for dinner Friday night.

I love Cracker Barrel! We stopped there over the weekend to buy some coffee and hope I can make it taste just like theirs. I also had to have Gumby...now looking for Pokey. :rotfl:

I am all excited about the FEE. I need a list so I can start shopping. I've already picked up some cute things for the kids.

Hello Everyone!

SOOOOOOO SORRY - I have been CRAZY:eek: here for the past few weeks but have read through everything I missed and replied to everyone that PM'd, etc. Here is the updated list...do we want to "close out" the list?? We currently have 33 Cabins participating - that is awesome!!! Anyone want to close out at a certain date - not that I want anyone to miss out on the fun - but I know many are wanting to get shopping done, etc.

Those in PINK are the ones that I don't have any Cabin info for - need # of adults and kids and kids ages :) Please let me know the info. ASAP so I can send out the list via PM. If I don't hear back by later this afternoon - I will send what I have via PM since many of us want to start shopping and planning :thumbsup2 Sorry if it was my fault or if I didn't get a PM but want to have as much info. in the original PM as possible to avoid confusion;)

If for any reason, anyone has decided not to participate, please let me know as well so that we have all of the info. correct for cruise-time!:thumbsup2

Sorry again for the delay! Thanks so much to all those who have signed up - this is going to be SO MUCH FUN:banana:

We are still planning the Cruise Meet at the Promenade Lounge the first night after dinner - we can plan to meet around 9:00 and those with the latest dinner seating can come join us when they are done :thumbsup2 Sound good???

Take care everyone!

ooiy! Cruise meet is in Promanade Lounge at 9pm.

We are late dinner seating. Any idea from an experienced late diner what time we can expect to be done with dinner? I keep hearing dinner can be up to two hours (especially at late seating) which is generally fine with us but I hate to miss the meet!

Anyone else have late dinner seating?

We also have late seating. I hope they don't give up on us lol. I read somewhere on the boards that the servers can hurry dinner along a little if you let them know. I'm sure it still won't be as fast as a drive thru. :rotfl:

I am excited about the meet and the FE list. :woohoo:

Don't worry - I am sure we will be there LONG after your dinner time :rotfl: My kids will most likely be in the Clubs anyway - they cannot wait to get into them!

We had late seating on our cruise last September and it did take us about 2 hours for dinner but they can also speed it up a little for you if you let them know you want to be somewhere. We skipped appetizers and salad on the nights we wanted to be out a little earlier but seriously - no worries - the meet is very casual and people will come and go and some will be there for longer enjoying some Drinks of the Day;) So enjoy your dinner since it's the first night!!!

I am looking forward to posting and keeping up more often now! I made some great friends on our last cruise and alot of us still keep in touch!

Have a great Monday! It's a soggy one here in Atlanta!

Thanks for the reassurance about getting there late for the meet. I do want my family to get the full Disney dining effect that first night as they are all a little hesitant about this whole cruising thing (silly family).

And a huge THANK YOU for all you are doing to bring this together. Would love to help if you think of anything just let me know.

Today is my DH's birthday and I am hoping the rain holds off here until 8pm as he requested we grill for the first time this season! It's been dreary all day though.

186 Days!!!

Woohooo. I've just paid in full. I guess that confirms that we are definitely going. Great feeling. Now I just have to pay off the rest of it. ie: accommodation, car hire, tickets to WDW.

Welcome all cruisers new to our thread!!!! Almost 6 months from now, we'll be aboard that beautiful ship!!!

Sat. 9pm Promenade DIS meet is on my agenda. Can't wait.

Count on dinner lasting up to 2 hours. When I cruised in January with my DD's m-i-l, we were at a table by ourselves and were done with dinner within 1.5 hours. Just my opinion, the larger the table, the more dinner lasts. Also, depends on your servers and their capabilities and their total number of cruisers for each seating. If we wanted to hurry through dinner, we have made sure to tell our servers that we want to be done with dinner at a specific time. You don't want to leave Animators before the show, though. It starts after most diners are through with their entrees and before dessert is served.

Back to work. Gotta pay for my cruising habit.

We booked the cruise in February but I just found out about this board this weekend. It will be my sister, nephew (10) and myself. It will be mine and my nephews first cruise and my sister is celebrating her birthday 2 days before we leave. I do not know how those of you who booked your cruise last year has been able to stand the excitement. It seems like it is forever before September gets hear. We would also like to be added to the FE list. We are in cabin 5514

Just wanted to add to my sister's post WE CAN'T WAIT.

Welcome!:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We have late dining too. We'll probably be a little late, but will still drop by for the meet :thumbsup2

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Yes, that must be a great feeling! I'm holding off a bit, hoping the Canadian dollar gains a little first, but I'm not too confident that will happen soon enough!

Hi Kathe and Marilyn!

Holly's talking about me???!!!!

I'm a granny, but still young at heart!

Jan

Hi Jan, I'm a young at heart grandma too!

We are driving too. It is about a 24 hour drive. I don't drive so my poor DH has to do it all. We did it last year as well. I was surprised at how well the kids did. When we stopped we got gas, food and bathroom all at the same time and then ate in the car.

mamajojo, whereabouts in Ontario do you live? We have only driven once to wdw, in 2000. I'm in London.

Wow! Small world. We grew up in London. Well just outside. We moved to London in 1989. DH went to Western. All of our friends and family are still there! We moved to Kitchener 5 years ago since DH works in TO. We wanted something half way between family and work

It is a small world, isn't it! I look forward to meeting you and your family. I'm so excited about this cruise :cool1: I've only been on one cruise so far, but it was the WBPC...I picked the best ;) I'm doing the B2B, Tortola then right back on the ship for this one, so this will be my 3rd. I am doing the Tortola one solo (I'm widowed) but my daughter is joining me for this one.

Can we do this on the first night? Put them in the clubs that is. My dd7 is also dying to go and I told her she had to wait until the next day to go by herself as the first day was for family time only. I didn't realise she go stay on that night. She will be happy.

Thats why I paid today. The exchange rate has been soooo bad. It finally picked up so I thought I would get it done. I might have got a better rate but I was scared it would go back down to what it was.

I look forward to meeting you as well! Have you lived in London all of your life? I still miss living there. This is my family's first cruise. I am the only one who has been on a cruise but it was a Carnival cruise that my Mom took me on for my 16th birthday. It was fun but I am really looking forward to this one:banana:
