Is anyone else out there going on the 9-18-03 cruise to the Bahamas??

Are you concerned about hurrican Isabell??

I am taking my family of 6 plus my parents on this cruise and was wondering what everyone else thought of the impending storm and the track....It looks like it may just pass or be in the area when we leave next Thursday. This is my kids 3 & 5, and my husbands nephews 14-17 that live with us, first cruise, as well as my parents.

Did I make a mistake not purchasing the insurance ????

Thanks for your thoughts

M&M's mum,
We are on the 9/18 Wonder also, and I don't think it looks good for us. I don't like to be negative, but I do like to be realistic.
I called DCL this morning and the Cast member told me in 5 years they have never cancelled a cruise due to a hurricane. They have re-routed ships away from hurricanes, but my question is, where are you going to re-route this ship to? This storm is huge, and if it is near the Bahamas by next Thurs, which looks extremely probable, then most likely Port Canaveral will also be affected. And besides, where are you going to send a 3 day besides the Bahamas, nothing else is remotely close!
DCL told me that as of right now, the ship is still scheduled to sail , and that any changes or cancellations will not be made until closer to sailing. I guess I understand their stance, but what are we supposed to do for the next 7 days? The wait and see is going to kill me!

DisFanShan,
This is true....My recent 5 yr old (less then 1mo) is not going to get it if we don't go ! The 3yr old will be fine. AND, will they just take us out to see for 3 days?. This will also be my parents first cruise, and we are paying for it for them as a gift. I do not want it to be the last one they decided to do !

I keep checking the weather channels website:
http://www.weather.com/newscenter/tropical/stormdetails.html and doing the motion thing to see it move and develop. At the same time, I look at the storm track and where they had it getting near the Bahamas on Saturday is now looking to be T-W or Thursday....Not making me too happy.

I guess we will just have to watch and see.....
