9/11 timeline...

I'm watching timeline on tv. I'm almost having a panic attack watching it. Still unbelievable.

Sadly people have moved on it’s our nature I work for a charity that helps our wounded veterans and donations have all but disappeared- these brave men & women have life long injuries and need so much help more than the VA can provide- I am not slamming anyone it’s a tough economy so few dollars to go around it’s just so sad our hero’s are not treated better
I think ( just my thoughts ) this will be in my lifetime the worst most traumatic thing I’ve ever experienced to change our world forever
I watch the specials every year and cry all day it breaks my heart - I have a lot of friends and coworkers in NY who lost love ones in this horrible act of aggression
I just can’t wrap my head around it’s been 23 years !! Bless them all and their families

It happened literally a generation ago. Still fresh in our memories for those of us who were adults when it happened. But very much like Pearl Harbor, and the atomic bomb at Hiroshima were ancient history to me growing up, The September 11th terrorist attacks are ancient history to many adults born since the attacks.

You have a closer connection to it than I do. It was a horrible day and should be remembered. Atrocities are happening on a regular basis around the world, and my focus has been more on current events.

I am someone who was younger when 9/11 occurred but being in NJ, it is something I will never forget and I have made it part of my mission to ensure others don't forget as well. Every 9/11 I visit memorials throughout NJ to not only pay my respects but to photograph the area and share on social media to remind my connections of the anniversary as well as to give them an opportunity to see the memorials even if they can't physically be there. Reading it out moment by moment it stood out to me the low numbers of passengers on the planes. No, absolutely not in the sense of wanting more casualties. I simply don't think it's so common these days for there to be many empty seats on flights.

The weather last week and this as well have been really making my memories drift back to that awful day. Sparkling blue skies at diametric opposite mood from such tragedy unfolding. Hopefully those who lost a loved one that day are blessed to have found much peace over these many years.
