Oh gosh, giftcard, you totally did not step on my toes! Thank you for setting it up... my life is crazy busy right now, and I haven't been able to get to it.

Oh good!!!! :goodvibes

I am happy to report that our FB group currently has 9 members and discussions are already underway re door decorations and shore excursions. Come on over!!!!

Sent request. No picture of me just the MK castle.

I haven't been on here in a while!! There has been a lot going on!!! I hope everyone had happy holidays! I CAN'T wait for this cruise!! I am soo excited!! The FB group is a great idea!! What does everyone have planned for SF? I haven't been there since I was very little. I know I want to go to the Disney Museum, but what else is good to do with little ones? :confused3

We will also be sailing with you! This is our 3rd cruise, 2nd DCL cruise. We totally want to join in on the FE exchange too!

Suzanne - mom
Steve - dad
Samantha (age 11)
Sabrina (age 6)

On my way to check out the FB link:

Thanks!

It looks pretty likely that we will be able to pull DS from school and stay on for this cruise :cheer2: I know I haven't checked in i n a while. I was not wanting to get attached and then not be able to go :rotfl:

I'll look at facebook in a few days--it is never as nice for me as on the threads for some od reason, so I tend to not be so motivated to post there. :flower3:

Yay! Glad you're going on the cruise!

So it looks we will find out this week if we are staying or re-booking this cruise. The 2013 Wonder/Magic itineraries LOOK like they will be announced this week. I've been thinking about moving this cruise, because right now our 2013 vacation plan is looking pretty empty!!

We are super excited to have put our deposit on this cruise today!!! My mom took me and my girls on the Wonder a few weeks ago. DH loves to cruise so he is happy to go with us this time. I want my parents to go but it is doubtful.

Our little family is Suzanne (me), Jim (DH), Catherine (6) and Elizabeth (4). The girls have summer birthdays so I have put their ages for the cruise.

We LOVED the FE and want to participate again!!! Can't wait to be on a Disney Cruise :)

Welcome! It is so exciting to bebooked on a new adventure isn't it?:goodvibes

Okay I *think* that the FE list is up to date!
so... three things :goodvibes
1) If I have left anyone off the list PLEASE let me know, you can pm me and/or post here or on the FB page and I shall update both lists!
2) If there is any missing information or wrong information also let me know this!
3) At what point do we want to break this into smaller groups? I was thinking if we got to say 20 cabins we could do two groups of 10? :confused3 my last cruise had 19 cabins participating and we were all one group so whatever everyone is comfortable with is fine just thought I'd get some opinions on this part

Hi! On our first (and only) FE we had 16 cabins with 60 people which was manageable for us. I have read of some FE groups having tons more cabins (like 40 or 50). I love the FE but can understand how some (especially our UK friends) would want a smaller group.

Would it be acceptable to give everyone a choice if it starts to get big? Meaning break it up into smaller groups AND allow those who would like the option of participating in both groups. Hopefully this would make everyone happy. Just my thought....

Hi there! Does anyone know of a "reasonable" way to travel from San Diego to Vancouver? I know it sounds easy, but I have an empty bottle of aspirin that says otherwise. It looks like the default method is a one way ticket, at $318 per person (there's 8 of us!). But last week I found a flight from SAN to SEA for $100, plus a "thruway bus to the train" whatever that means, for $25. Now that option is $183, or $120 for a 7 hour flight to Bellingham with a layover! The family would love to take the train and see the Pacific Northwest if possible, but I feel overwhelmed here. We also don't mind driving to Long Beach Airport or LAX and just paying the outrageous parking costs, if that will be easier. I went to AAA for help and they laguhed at me and played pin the tail on the tourist! Any suggestions will be greatly rewarded with lots of FE's!!!!!

Thank you very much, Dave

*Comedy example:
Flight 693 on Alaska Air: $183 from San to SEA nonstop; $120 from San to Bellingham with a 2 hour layover in SEA. Seriously?????

Hey,
have you looked into a round trip ticket? They are usually cheaper than one way, not sure why :confused3, and you wouldn't need to use the return. I will ask around at work to people who sell US airfare and see if I can dig any info up for you :goodvibes also does that $25 include the train or just the bus? That's an awesome price for both!

We are thinking about booking this cruise and would drive to LAX and then fly from there to Seattle. Right now there are flights on American/Alaska for $115. We would stay a day or 2 in Seattle and then take the train to Vancouver.

I see your point. I looked at the following suggestion. Fly out of LAX but use the LAX FlyAway bus.
http://www.lawa.org/welcome_LAX.aspx?id=292
You can drive to Irvine station and park there and then take the flyaway bus or you can take the train from San Diego to Union Station and then take the flyaway bus from there. Bus is $25 from Ivine and $7 from Union Station. Amtrak from San Diego to Union Station is $108 for four and it is $69 from San Diego to Irvine station. Then take Alaska to Seattle. Do this the night before and stay in Seattle and then do what we're doing and take the train from Seattle into Vancouver the morning of the cruise $114 for four.

Not sure how much you could actually save.

I see an AlaskaAirlines flight from San Diego to Vancouver for $330 per person. Yikes.

From LAX they drop to $240 per person. That's $90 lower each person.

From LAX to Seattle they drop to $115 per person. So, if you are willing to do the plans, trains and cruise ships that we are doing you could save yourself some serious coin getting there. Getting back isn't too bad. You won't have a car to retrieve. Just find your way to a train station and head back to San Diego.

Noting the flight schedules and costs. Looks like it's not easy as it looks for some cross US flights. We fly into LAX from UK and plan to fly directly up to Seattle. Which airline would people recommend, not just for cost if flight but for baggage allowances etc? I am not familiar with internal flights only transatlantic
I should get looking at this I guess
