a bit off topic: Looking for ideas for a birthday gift for an 8year old boy-under $50. What wii games do 8year olds like (already has Mario Kart and Just Dance). He isn't really asking for anything-no strong wants or desires but does love Disney.

DS8 likes Epic Mickey. With $50, I believe you could also buy a starter set for Skylanders but you'll have to keep buying figures.

My 8 year old son likes Just Dance Disney, Epic Mickey, and Disney Universe for the Wii. Those might be something to consider.

Disney universe is a lot of fun, an I would consider any of the Legend of Zelda games as well.

Well not a video game but my 8 year old likes the Estes Rockets. We get them at hobby lobby and use the 40^ off coupons. His friends are also into them now.

My son really likes the donkey kong games for wii.

Does he have a scooter/ skateboard yet? Those are usually get things to get for this age.

Oh yes....VERY INTO Estes rockets-however has more than enough to finish building and doesn't need more but a great great suggestion for this age group I agree

My 8 year old is a Lego addict. You could find Disney related sets. Good Luck!

Definitely Skylanders game, Lego, YuGi Oh or Pokemon cards, games such as Life, Monopoly, Chess, etc

My 8 year old son likes Madden 13, an NHL game( forget which year is newest), Skylanders and we just got Wipe Out so not sure if the kids like it or not yet. Of course now he wants an XBox because they have Minecraft and Plants vs Zombies, I'm hoping they make them for Wii soon.

DS will be 7 this fall and is a huge lego fan. There are sets in every price range and so many differnt themes. He loves the star wars ones. We have so many wii games that I try to avoid buying more of those. He likes the Mario ones and yes, the Lego ones the best.

Others things he really likes and enjoys:

Nerf Anything. Again, every price range. Don't buy off name brands.They don't work well.

Board Games- Monopoly (many different theme ones including Disney!, Sorry, Pay Day.

Sports equipment- He has done soccer, does base ball, and just discovered tennis. Academy Sports has some Jr rackets and balls well under your price range. Just be sure he has somewhere to play.

Ok, so our 6 year old thinks he is a teen, but he loves itune cards, fast food gift cards ( a rare treat for us), an arcade gift card, go-cart gift cards, movie gift cards!

Legos were always a big hit. What about Minecraft for the Xbox-$19.99or you get it for the PC I think that version is $27. DVD's maybe. DS is 12 so a little older but he loves the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movies.

DD is 8, and she's a giant lego fan and Star Wars fan. She loves anything Star Wars, but especially the legos. She's trying to convince us to buy her Star Wars models ... She's also into Club Penguin right now, so she likes getting the game cards for a month of play.

Lego anything. OMG...LEGO. Nerf guns. Additional Nerf Ammo. Sports equipment, including soccer balls, skill balls for soccer, skill ball for basketball, etc. Books. At that age, DS was getting into the Warrior Series. The Fart Book Series. The Nerd Series. His cousin liked Captain Underpants? Games. Othello. Stratego. The Farming Game.
