8th Annual Christmas Thead

I must be under a rock because I'd never heard of emoji pillows until here and sure enough, that is what my DD wants, more than a snorting pig puppet (personally I like the pig). Also put some American Girl books on her list, the self-help kind.

Budget board has a post about DIY projects for Christmas decorations and this one gal did something amazing with little Christmas scenes.

ETA: Budget board is popping up with different threads around Christmas and even Thanksgiving meals so might want to check there.

I am so happy I found this thread! My kids and I have been watching Hallmark Channel Christmas movies since Saturday.
I started casual conversations with the kids about presents while watching the movies.
My DD12 told me she would like sweatpants and books. She loves accessories so I might be getting her some cute earrings at Walmart or Claires. Maybe a pair of new boots too.

DS9 loves everything Pokemon and Minecraft so I will see what I come up with. He also loves books (Captain Underpants, I Funny Series, Whimpy Kid, MineCraft etc). Barnes and Nobles gift cards might be the way to go for us so he can choose.

DD7 has not really hinted on anything particular she is into this year, so I still have to figure that out.

DNiece12 will probably get Barnes and Nobles gift card (she is a bookworm).

DNiece16 maybe Ulta GC

Dnephews 15&17 will prob get Dinner and a Movie GC.

DH has really wanted some of those expensive headphones for quite some time now. I am looking in to that.
That's all I have for now.

There is a GREAT Groupon right now for Beats headphones. Both the large kind and the earbuds! The large ones are $109 I think (regular $199) and the earbuds are $39.99. Not sure what they regularly are. DH loves his.

Thank You!! I will look it up. That is a pretty good deal. And I can put the savings towards other gifts!

If you have a Target in your area, they are offering an awesome Cartwheel each day for a toy. The deal lasts 1 day only.

Yesterday it was 50% of the Monster High Student Disembody 5 piece set. Original price was $49.99, but I had a Target 25% off a toy coupon, the 50% off Cartwheel, a 5% off Pharmacy Rewards coupon and my 5% off from my debit Red Card. I spent just under $17 for a $50 toy that my 9 year old niece will love!!! Other than buying her a Christmas ornament (my tradition with her and her brother), she is done!!

There is a package deal on American Girl's website today. It's under sales, package deals.

This week I was able to pick up some more stuff.

DS6- Lego Junior legos and a Miles from Tomorrowland game

DS8- Lego beach hut set and a K-nex Dinosaur!

For Dh I was able to get him some new uniform stuff and a movie.

3 more gifts purchased today! I took advantage of The Disney Store Friends & Family 25% off. They had ornaments for $10 (regularly $12.95) plus the 25% off = $7.50 each.

DS (4) - Miles From Tomorrowland ornament

Nephew (12) - Darth Vader
Niece (9) - Tinkerbelle

That's a good deal on the ornaments! I just placed a bath and. Body works order for my moms gift - had a 25% off plus free shipping code - and the lotions were buy 3 get 3 free! Awesome deal. I'm plugging right along on my list.

I did a little shopping today too!

DH -Oral B electric toothbrush

DS- Axe gift set for stocking. Amazon has them for 9.99 and a $2 coupon

Got a few more people checked off my list today.

Nephew(5): remote control monster truck
Friend's son (4): remote control car
DSis(19): the new illustrated Harry Potter book

Doing some thinking on DD11's birthday too. She will be 12 just 3 weeks after Christmas (and a mere 5 days after my current c-section date)! I want to have her birthday done before Christmas also. Got her a new bathrobe (finally leaving behind the kid's sizes, I got her a women's small) at Kohl's with my $10 off a $10 purchase coupon. Seriously considering a Boodle Box subscription. I don't usually spend more than $50-60 on birthday gifts, because they get to choose to have a party or go somewhere fun (in the past indoor water park, theme park, bronx zoo, NYC day). So I'm thinking about asking some of the people close to us who always give a bday gift, to see if they would like to add a month to the subscription. Keeps it at $20 per person who likes the idea, and allows her to keep getting it for longer. Anyone done this before? Good reactions or bad? TY

Didn't even know about this! Grabbed this for DD's birthday. Thanks!

You're welcome! I'm a huge HP fan, my kids are actually getting me this book for Christmas (but I don't know that lol) so I knew my sister would love it too!

I'm hoping Target comes out with a $10 off $50 soon. I need to buy a lego set and none of the current coupons work with Legos. Grrr!

Seems like everyone is moving right along! Has anyone ordered from Walmart and did the site to store pickup? I'm thinking of doing that for some gifts because I'm pretty certain that they are going to be delivered in boxes where you can see what it is - and that would bum me out!!

I have done site to store pick up for the kids' halloween costumes. The only annoying thing was that different items were ready for pick up on different dates. They usually give you a few days to pick it up. Some were about to expire when others were just arriving. Only one item ended up being cancelled do to back order.
On the other hand, I would do it again if it meant not ruining the surprise for my kids!

Thanks! That's what I thought about the different dates for things - I know when having it delivered Walmart can send everything separate! Hmm... Maybe I will just stop in there to see if they have the two items I need first! The other things I know will come in a regular box but one is a lamp and I wonder if it will come with a picture on the outside.

I just ordered from Walmart on Thursday and did site to store. It was a quick easy process.

On another note I have to agree about boxes now coming announcing what it is! I ordered a printer for my DH and it was only the actual printer box!! Luckily I got to it before he did!

That happened with a television I ordered for Christmas a couple years ago - I was not happy that they were going to leave it on my front steps though - anyone could drive up and take it. I'm going to order the stocking stuffers and things like razors, etc and will do site to store for the two things I think will be in a box that will give it away!

On another note - bought one more gift today - it's from the furbabies to my dad - a brand new pooper scooper lol!
