If you had to choose between room 5022 on the port side or room 6514 on starboard on the Fantasy, which would you choose and why? I am so torn right now. One has a wall, but one has a better view. We will also be traveling with a 7 year old.

On the dream we just opted for 6514/6512 connecting rooms for our Christmas cruise. Unfortunately I have not been in the room before so I'm curious about responses you get as well!

I actually preferred the layout of the one on deck 5 (the wall split), but was weary of having a cabin so close to Vibe.

I am a bit concerned about noise too! At the same time though, being on 5 would be easy for dropping my kid off at the oceaneer club. 5022 has a bit of an obstructed view though. But then, it has two tvs. 6514 would be much more quiet and has a beautiful view from what I’ve seen, it just has that random pole in the center. Lol I’m so torn right now.

Love the layout of the wall rooms, they feel like a mini suite. I’ve been in 5022 (and 5518) and it wasn’t noisy.

For me, it was a no-brainer. WALL. But I was sharing with my sister. We each had our own personal space. And control over TV.

A TV that was located at a normal viewing angle. Straight in front of both bed and sofa. Maybe it was a little to the left of the sofa. I had the bed and perfect TV angle.

And our portholes did not have the desk blocking part of them. And our desk was longer.

We were in 5522. There was some noise in our cabin - it came through the air return. Couldn’t figure out what it was or from where. It didn’t happen at sleep time. Not enough to call “noisy.”

It is my favorite cabin on any Disney ship. It feels so roomy. And we are fine with a single bathroom unit. (And I have stayed in a HA one-bedroom on Magic, 8602, with a giant verandah and two bathrooms.)

That floorspace in this layout feels bigger than this photo indicates.

We also had that extra arm chair.

Drawback: only sleeps 3.

If I could build my dream ship, it would have more if these. And ones with two queen beds/ no sofa, like a hotel room.

Cabin 5022 is a little different. It doesn’t create the same privacy that 5520 did, by having the sofa facing the middle. And there is no curtain. The people in the bed will not see the sofa.

Definitely wall. We try to always get 8a on the Fantasy or Dream-so much room! The wall is our favorite because I get up early & can get room service, have coffee, watch TV, read, etc. & not bother husband sleeping.

The replies in here are making me second guess my selection of deck 6 for our next Dream cruise!

We did get the two connecting rooms though so I guess we already have a “wall” lol

we were just in 6012 on the Fantasy and those rooms are awesome. I didn't miss the verandah we usually book at all. We have 6510 booked for November and just got our luggage tags. :thumbsup2 The only tiny thing was I wish the tv was a little higher on the wall. I couldn't see it very well because my husband was blocking it. :rotfl:

We stayed in 5020 on the Dream and had the wall. We brought a lightweight shower curtain and strong magnets from the dollar store and hung it from the ceiling in the opening dividing the rooms. DS(14) basically got to have his own private room with his own bed and tv. He only needed to walk to our side for the bathroom.

Maybe another cruise in your future.

These Cat 8A rooms are nearly as (or equal) to verandah pricing. And only one bathroom. They are great for some, but not everyone.

Thanks for making me realize this - the prices were in fact the same so we’ve moved to connecting 5B’s on deck 7

Back in 2018 we did a seven day on the fantasy. We booked as a guaranteed ocean view rate.
Knowing Disney would be the ones picking our room number and knowing they could put us anywhere on the ship we took our chances.

About a month before sailing we got our room number. We ended up in room 6014. It was a special needs room that no one must have booked for special needs. We knew if someone needed the room right up to the sail date Disney would move us to give the room to a party that needed it.
As we got closer to the sailing date the room number never changed so we guessed it was not needed on our cruise.

It was a very large room almost a double cabin. It had a poll in the middle. It also had a roll in bathroom and roll in shower. The cabin door was large enough for a wheel chair and it had a opener on it. When you touched the key to the sensor it would open up.

In April 2019 we decided to specifically book 5020 on the Fantasy. This was the non special needs room with the wall instead of the poll.
I am not sure if the ship had any non special needs rooms with a poll instead of a wall.

Here are some picture's of room 6014.
