Unless its an early entry day, I'd say try and get there about 7:45-50.

No Early Entry for AK that day. Driving over from Pop Century I am thinking we should be ok if we leave hotel by 7:30

I honestly think that you just may be cutting it too close. Have you ever done the breakfast at AK before? We did last year with reservations at 8:00 and we tried to leave by 7:00 just incase anything went wrong. We were there in time and even had a few minutes to rest. See, the way they call you up once you're in the park is in groups according to your reservation time and unluckily if you're not there then.... oh well-you just get left. SO if I were you I wouldn't take any chances. Good luck!

so do they call your name at the front gate & admit you that way? I am glad you posted this info - we are notorious 5 minutes late for everything!

When we drove to AK for an 8am PS last March, we were held up at the entrance to the parking lot until it opened at 7:45. Has this changed? The CM didn't even want to hear our explanation about an early PS. It was very difficult to make it into the park and to the podium in time.

We always make a PS for an hour before opening, to beat the gate crowds.

You arrive and have to check in at the gate, where they make sure you do have a PS and then they take you back to the resturaunt, sometimes in a group. Then you check in again there and get your photo taken.

When I went there in August my PS was for 8:00. At the Animal Kingdom enterance we had to fill out a card with name and PS time. Then we were taken by groups to the restaurant. Didn't have to check in again and didn't get a picture taken either (no one was offered this).

So do they call you in time to be at the restaurant at 8 (P.S. time) or do they wait until 8 to call you? The park doesn't open until 9 so I can't imagine the buses will be running in time to get there by 7:45.

We had a 8am ps on Thanksgiving this year. We stayed at AKL and drove to AK. We got to the gate about 7:40 and they would not open the gate and let anyone in until about 7:50-7:55. There were several other cars in the various lines there, waiting. When we got through, we quickly parked up close and got to the front gate right before 8. We had to tell them our name, they looked us up, and they filled out a ticket. Then they called us in our groups according to the tickets they had(pics were done from these tickets too). We were called about 8:05. Several family groups went back together. We were finished right at 9. Very nice way to start our day.
The resorts have buses that run early for the character meals. Just ask at your resort.

The busses do run early enough to get you there on time. I don't remember the exact times but if you ask at the front desk of the resort they will tell you what time the bus will be there and you need your confirmation # too.
