I am missing you guys by 1 day. I just got a 40% code by e-mail. I just made ressies for Aug. 28-Sept. 1 at AKL. We want to stay 2 more nites somewhere and then do Key West.

We leave on the 28th, kids don't go back to school here till about 3rd September, can't believe you just miss the meet, great about the code though

Some lucky people receive a "code" via email or regular mail that entitles them to a 40% off (sometimes 30%) discount. The key is determining which discount is the best for you, your family, and your resort level. If you are weighing free dining against 40%, just calculate which is the bigger dicount. For Tracy, for example, the dining plan will cost her family of 4 $96 per day. Free dining gives her a discount of $96 per day. In order for the 40% off to be a better deal, then her room needs to have a rack rate of at least $240 per day. ($240 x .4 = $96) For my family of 5, free dining gives us a $134 discount per day. We would need a room with a rack rate of $355 or more for the 40% off code to be a better deal. Hello CR Tower with MK view!!!!!! Only I don't have a code.

You all are getting back home so your kids can go to school. I told my dh he has to take me somewhere,so I don't cry for a week. Our youngest is going to college. I am calling it "Our Empty Nest Vacation".

I can't even imagine how tough that must be. You definitely need a visit to WDW to take the edge off!

I am trying to decide what to do on our arrival day. I'm actually having a hard time deciding when to go to the MK. I wanted to go on Labor Day, but last year they had the Princess and Pirate Party that night. Maybe we will go to the MK our first day. They only thing we want to do is eat at the Plaza for supper and see Wishes.

I don't think so V, because the one I got went to my parents address in Florida. It was addressed to me, but had their address

Nope, I know AP holders who have gotten them. BUT, it wouldn't surprise me if they exclude people like me - that have a running record of AP usage combined with never paying rack-rate. I'm also convinced the parks use a face-recognition system to keep Dreams form going to regulars.

Used to - these days the discount amounts are getting lower and lower. I just booked one and it was around 20% off. Also, the AP and FL rates are getting LOADS more restictive - limited resorts, very limited availability, and weekend exclusions. WDW needs to be careful; Floridians carried the palce last time there was a recession.

Well, since we'd already decided that we didn't want to do the DDP, I guess I'll stay with the 40%. I do believe free dining will be offered at a later date, say the 31st, this year. Last year when the free diners descended on the world it was so crowded!!!
