$86 PP- Friend/family: Just SS or waitlist too?

OK- I think the thread title says it all-
Do you get the $86 pp price if you waitlist for an older resort?
Also- quick question- what do current members pay per point for an add-on contract?

no to get the 86 dollars a point you have to get it at ssr.
for new members of course you have to get at least 150 points
for add ons you have to get at least 115 points at ssr to get the 86 dollars a point.
the older resorts was at 95 dollars a point last i heard.

The current promotion is for SSR only. Add-on at SSR I believe are eligible for the same discount or 15% off. Can't remember off-hand.
Add-ons at other resorts are at the going rate.

Just to clarify, if you wanted to purchase a "sold out" resort directly from Disney, you wouldn't necessarily have to go on a waiting list. It depends on the resort: yes if you want BCV, maybe for BWV and VWL (depends on which UY you want, they will have some points available for some UYs most of the time), OKW, VB, HHI probably not. Prices may vary as well, at least they do for add-ons but I'm not sure if they do for first-time buyers. Currently BCV, BWV and VWL are $95/pt, OKW is $92/pt and I think VB and HHI may still be $87/pt.

Thanks LisaS - I didn't realize that the prices were different for the different resorts. I am so torn between 3 choices- SSR direct from Disney or OKW or BWV resale. I am in the "making-3-spreadsheets-a-day" phase of the decision process so it is nice to know the prices on BWV and OKW from Disney.

I'm hoping someone will confirm the $92/pt price at OKW is available to new members and not just for existing members who are adding on. I know what you mean about making multiple spreadsheets every day. I did the same thing when we went through the decision process!

If you are in the "making spreadsheets phase" then you are well on your way! Seriously, this just says that you are doing your homework which is so important.

Of course, don't forget the extra 12 years on SSR--that is worth a lot to many here...for resale value if not for your/your children's future use.

Someone's guide also said, after the CM afternoon meeting yesterday, that the proposed AKV will be 3 years longer ownership than SSR.

We recently purchased SSR direct from Disney but toyed with the idea of purchasing resale of OKW or BWV from Disney. We were quoted $92 per point for OKW and $95 for BWV - we would have been first time buyers.

ebenmax- I am on the exact same path- strongly considering SSR- but looking seriously at OKW and BWV. Leaning toward SSR at this point. Are you content with your decision?

We are very content with our decision for several reasons. 1) First and most importantly, we love the atmosphere at SSR and its beauty. Although we have only toured it, we liked that it was quiet, serene and has a sense of community to it. And a golf course for Brian! (Our first trip home will be in June). We feel like this is the type of place we will want for the long term - even into retirement - even if we no longer want to tour the parks. 2) We have the option to book at BWV, OKW or anywhere else at the 7 month mark. We had absolutely NO problem booking three days at BWV and two at SSR for our June vacation. 3) We have 12 extra years at SSR 4) We are considering adding on some smaller contracts at other resorts in the future 5) SSR annual dues are lower than several others. 6) It was $86 per point - the best deal through Disney at the moment. 7) Proximity to DDT and the major transportation hub - we are big travelers to other resorts for their restaurants.
Bottom line - we loved SSR. Of course, I will have a better report come June, but we are very satisfied with the decision we made.
