$85 MK tickets - worth the price?

My spouse is going to a convention in Orlando in December 2016. We really only have one day to visit MK. We have the option of purchasing from WDW one day tickets for $85 for MK but the catch is you can only enter after 3pm. We are at the convention the week of starting Dec 12th 2016. I see there are only two days Mon and Wed that MK is open to 10 pm. Is there any value for this ticket or should we buy a regular one day and get there are rope drop? My concern with the 3pm ticket is will there will be any fast passes left?

Another less costly option is to go to MK on a MVMCP night while your spouse is there for the convention. Less money, and you can still get in at 4pm

My wife and I did something similar in September a couple of years ago. We went on a MNSSHP night for about $65 a piece.

EDIT: SCRATCH ALL THAT. I JUST LOOKED UP THE PRICES FOR MVMCP! OVER $90! I SUPPOSE YOU HAVE ANOTHER OPTION AT LEAST, TO DO THE MVMCP FOR A SIMILAR COST

I would pay the extra money and go to the MVMCP party because the park is usually less crowded, you get to see the Christmas show and parade. Also I think the park is open till midnight on party nights.
