85 in April vs. 91 in July?

Lolol anyone who says "it'll be better after the showers" has never experienced rain in Florida when it's the summer and it's hot. It's cool during the rain, then once the rain stops you feel the humidity even more and it feels hotter than it did before the rain
I live in Georgia so it's very similar. I agree it's actually sort of nice DURING the shower but omg yes, afterward it's like a sauna. It literally steams up my sunglasses and one can see the steam coming off the pavement.

It's hot + humid enough in July to feel like you're vacationing in satan's armpit. It's my favorite time of year to go, though!

Thanks for all the responses! I am glad we are splurging on Beach Club and Grand Floridian for the pools alone!

April is a totally different thing than July, you can actually have some cool nights in April and highs in the 78-85 range with tolerable humidity. The change comes around usually in May when rainy season kicks in adding humidity, one of the top 3 hottest days I've spent in Disney was in May with 98 degrees and super high humidity, the weather channel had the heat index that day at 120 degrees. That was a day in May with high humidity but no real chance of rain. That's the thing if it doesn't rain and there's no clouds from May through even as late as October, the highs will not be 90-91 you'll be looking at 94-98 in the Orlando area since its inland and has no seabreeze,Tampa and Miami further south will only get to 92-94 on that same day since they're on the coast, simply put Orlando is an oven in the summer, the best you can hope for is clouds and some rain to cool it off.

This week it's been hot and humid and in the 90's at Disney. Feels like July. And the crowds have felt like July too. Stay hydrated. All parks have air conditioned buildings. Pick meals where you can eat indoors to cool off. Typically, summer months have increased hours.

It's all personal perspective. OP, I have been here the last nine nights and have found the weather pleasant and the crowds very low. We usually come in August and the big difference is there has been no humidity in April. No rain, nada. In the summer it will rain pretty much every single day. If I had a choice I would always come in April.

The last 2 years we have gone in April and it's been hot...often up to 85. This year we are going over the July 4th week for my birthday and I'm a bit nervous about the heat. At 85 for us it's hot, but manageable. How much hotter will it feel in July really?

Does the phrase "Hotter than the hinges of Hades" mean anything? At 91 with 80% humidity.. It means hats, sunscreen and a LOT of water.

It's a whole new kind of hot in July.

Funny, but sadly, true. We went late June one year and I became very good at choosing a path that kept me in the shade as much as possible. Drink water, take breaks and enjoy some indoor attractions.

local Orlando resident here, there's no other way to put it, it's hot. It starts hot and gets hotter, please keep in mind signs of heat exhaustion.
Drink water all day (try and stay away from soda, coffee and alcoholic beverages) maybe a powerade now and then but you should be drinking water frequently, don't wait until you are thirsty.
As much as possible dunk your arms, all the way up to your elbows if possible, where they sell the water fans, those huge buckets with ice in them. I know it hurts but the wrist is one of the places in your body where your veins are closer to the surface of your skin so the cold will go faster through your body.
Bring an umbrella and use it while standing outside, be it in line for characters, or parades.
Try and plan outdoor rides in the morning and evenings and indoor attractions/shows during the early afternoon, afternoon and early evening hours.
Remember to eat, when I'm hot I don't feel hungry at all
I've seen way to many people just out of nowhere faint cause they didn't have a good plan for the heat

It will be fine! Hot, yes, but more from the humidity than actual temperatures. As a pp said- it's not the Sahara Desert.

You already know that most of the rides have indoor lines. There's plenty of splash stations around..utilize them :).. Also, buy a few of the water fans for your family- best $20 I ever spent on my son!!lol. And again as a pp stated, utilize the pools.

We are ex South Floridians, so I'm not a stranger to hot weather, but my son is completely opposite of me..and would rather be snow skiing than in hot temps.. Nike and Under Armour both have great shorts/shirts that are comfortable/breathable and won't (completely) stick to your skin. And in the evenings- I actually find Orlando nights to be relatively cool compared to the day time.

Just think of how good the humidity is for your skin ;)

It will be hot and very humid. It doesn't cool down at night much. The sun goes down, but the humidity is just as bad and you will literally be sweating standing still. Remember water water water! Stay hydrated, take breaks in a/c when you need cooling down and enjoy your resort's pool. :)

It's all in your attitude and perspective. You've come to a theme park presumably to have fun-- that has to be your focus. Act like all the little children. They aren't focused on the heat; they just want to head to the next ride.

For Fourth of July, part of your perspective has to be that you've come to celebrate Independence Day at the place that puts on the best Independence Day celebrations I've ever seen. You would have to go to a major city like Washington, D.C., or New York to see something on the same scale-- and the the crowds will be even worse (humidity will probably be worse in D.C., too). The MK fireworks are just amazing (and are shown on July 3 and 4)! The Voices of Liberty concert is beautiful. Everyone is wearing red, white, and blue. It's really a worthwhile experience.

Bring cooling towels, drink lots of water, use personal fans, take breaks. There's a lot of ways to deal with the heat and humidity so it doesn't have to be the major focus of your trip. Best wishes.

The worst of it for me, and I've never gotten used to it even after decades in Orlando, is the fact it's often in the high eighties, humid, and totally still at 11pm and after.

That's the big difference I find in Orlando versus the Mid-Atlantic. Even on our hottest days over 90 we will cool off a bit at night. That and the daily thunder and lightning storms.

And yet you love it! That's a real fan for you!

I guess it's relative to where you live. I actually like Orlando nights. If you're in South Florida though- temperatures don't really drop, still sweating at 1am lol

April was perfect weather....August (when we generally go) is STICKY. Not as miserable HOT as you would think, but STICKY. I, personally, LOVE it. Love, love, love it. I love the thick feel of the air when you breathe and everything that comes with. The rain does, for me, cool things down considerably, but after it is gone, the humidity makes it all just feel thicker. I assume July is very much the same.

FWIW, when we have been there in August, the heat and humidity are worse back home in MN. So, it's a little escape!
