We put in a request for the 80's section at POP ... since that is our generation. (ack! Suddenly feeling old...lol). Can anyone tell me about their experience with that section? How was parking? Was the walk to busses and food long? How is the pool, and is it a long walk to a bigger pool? Any info would be most appreciated. Also, anyone know how to get to International Drive from the resort? I have to eat at the Olive Garden at least once each vacation we take. Thanks everyone!! princess:

We stayed at the 80's last week. Nothing is a far walk at POP in my opinion. The 80's buildings are grouped together with the 90's buildings. Our rooms were very close to the bus stop, but far-ish from the parking lot. This didn't bother us too much because we really didn't use the car all that much during our stay. You also don't have to walk all the way around the T-shaped buldings. There are breezeways that take you from one area to another fairly quickly. If you get a POP map, you will see what I mean. There is one posted somewhere on this board.

The "computer pool" in the 80's is a huge square which is shallow along its edges and deeper in the middle. There's lots of room to swim, and lots of chairs around the pool, as well as the cork covered keyboard which little kids enjoy jumping and running around on!

International drive is also not far although I can't give you directions because my husband did most of the driving. Check out www.mapquest.com

We were in the 80's B building. We cut past the 70's parking lot to the bus stop (as shown on the map). It was very convenient. You can use the same route to the food court/gift shop or you can walk through the resort to the back side of Classic Hall. Either way is a short walk. Don't know about parking, we didn't drive.

We were there last week also. I loved it!! We were very close to buses and coffee!!

I stayed in the 90's bldg right next to the 80's. I liked it fine enough.

About Olive Garden. If you take the road out of Disney by the DTD resorts, you will hit a stop light and right accross from the DTD is a shopping center called Crossroads I think. But there is a Olive Garden right in there.

If you stop by the Porte Cochere or Luggage Desk, we have pre-printed sheets with directions to all popular and major areas. (SeaWorld, Universal, Publix, Crossroads, highways, turnpikes, Churches, Outlets, Malls, CentraCare, Florida Hospital, etc...)

We were also at PC last week, well from the 21st - 31st. Our room was 9222, 80s building B. Not too far from the bus stop or food court and I think the computer pool is the biggest. We had a great time even though every time I looked for Tyler he was off or gone to pickup some luggage, oh well maybe next time. And there will definetly be a next time.
PC is a great resort. We had the best maid service ever, everyone we talked to was very helpful and pleasent. On Sat. the 24th they were at capacity but it didn't feel like it. We didn't have any problems at the food court, which was very good or shopping in the store. There was plenty of room for everyone. My only complaint is that they need another frozen coke machine. Small price to pay. :firefight

Hey - that's Tyler's web site - GREAT job Tyler and great pictures of PoP. I have been wanting to see a better picture of the Goofy Jet area and of the Pool Bar. Thanks for getting those up. (by the way, you are really sweet and helpful and your bio proves it! -cute pictures - too bad I'm married and only slightly older, the seventies buildings will be my request)

you don't have to go I-drive for Olive Garden....the closest one is in Lake Buena Vista: exit WDW on disney resorts Blvd from DTD area....at the stoplight(SR 535) make a left and olive garden is less than 1/2 mile down on the right hand side....we have also eaten at one out on hwy 192(irlo bronsman) in kissimmee....
