trip is not until april 16-24,2016
Thinking of booking at AS Movies for our 2nd trip. We stayed there last year and liked it....so this is my plan and I realize it is still very far away but this is my plan:

Saturday 4/16----arrival day, check in and head to DTD
Sunday 4/17----Hollywood Studios
Monday 4/18----Epcot
Tuesday 4/19---Animal Kingdom
Wednesday 4/20--MK (tomorrowland, fantasyland and liberty square)
Thursday 4/21----Typhoon Lagoon
Friday 4/22-----MK (adventureland, frontierland, parades, dessert party)
Saturday 4/23------?????
Sunday 4/24-------????? hoping for a late flight home for more time in Disney....

Not sure what to do with the 23rd and 24th? looking for ideas...thank you

Did you select those days for those parks on anything in particular? You might want to wait until the crowd prediction calendars are available for 4/16 (I like the ones on www.easywdw.com ).

My other thought is that you have a long trip and all of your park days lined up back to back. Especially if you're rope-droppers, or stay for the entire day, this might get very tiring, so maybe use some of those empty days as rest days at the hotel? Pool time, tour the monorail resorts, book a fun ADR at a resort, play some mini golf, stuff like that?

Maybe if you provided a little more info about your group (kids? ages?) and priorities you might get some more useful feedback.

I would add another Epcot day! But that would depend on who you are traveling with.

What's your touring style? Rope droppers? Late nighters? Commando? Late starters?

You can make a good guess as to the recommended parks by looking at last year's predictions for the comparable week. I've done this in years past, and rarely had to make a change. I've already got my prelim plans for March 2016, and my desired restaurants.

2 thoughts:

(1) Need another Epcot day
(2) Might consider a tour (Backstage Magic or something like that)

I would wait until the crowd calendars come out before I would select my actual park days. I would suggest two days for Epcot, too. And maybe on the last day, leave it up to your grandson to pick where he would like to go or if he'd like to do a park again. :)

We don't has a style per say as this is only our 2nd trip but would like to be at rope drop, afternoon break and back for night time fun

Teens love Universal if there's a way to work that into the budget. Dinner at Trail's End and evening Extra Magic Hours and/or musical performances at Epcot or Disney Springs could also be fun. And maybe he'd enjoy renting a boat or doing the Pirates and Pals Fireworks Cruise just to feel like a kid again. You might want more time in Epcot for the Flower & Garden food kiosks. There are bowling and a movie theater at Disney Springs. Lots of good food options for the teenaged appetite. Have fun!

5 things jump out at me:

1.) As others have said, check whether these days are 'Best/Recommend' Days.

2.) 16 y.o. might not need 2 days in MK at end of vacation.

3.) If grandson has been, his input helps too.

4.) After Rope Drop plan that then includes back to your resort - there are some fun recreational activities that may also work for you - Speedboats, mini-golf, bowling, Disney Quest, free outdoor BBQ & blues at House of Blues, a fun meal (and I have no idea what that means for you & your grandchild), dinner show, fireworks, Illuminations, Fantasmic!.

5.) By putting each Park in order in some way at the beginning of your vacation, like you've done, this allows for possibility of making-up for weather conditions if necessary.

I agree with some of the others that you won't want to finalize your park plans until the actual crowd calendars come out. That should be in mid to late Sept. Plenty of time before you have to make your ADRs.

Going to a water park might give you the rest that you will need after 4 straight park days. I agree that you should think about adding a second Epcot day. On your last day, if you had time, you could go back to MK just to re ride your favourites. Your DGS would probably enjoy hitting the mountains one last time

Definitely agree, add more Epcot time! I can't get enough of that place though so I always need more time there :) You might consider DisneyQuest at DTD. I agree also with leaving one of those days open--plan to spend some time at the pool, and just chill. Your feet will thank you! :)
