8% Increase on DVC Maintenance/Taxes?

Just received my 2006 dues schedule and it reflects an 8.8% increase.

Sorry, didn't see this coming. Is this about right for everyone else?

My OKW dues went up 11.4% from last year

I don't see how an 8.8% increase is possible. I mean, gas prices were up sharply, but I don't see how that contributes to a doubling. If that trend were to continue, you would be paying $10,000 a year on a 150 point contract by 2040. Yikes. Not sustainable -- there must be some reason...

I own at OKW and Boardwalk - that maybe why I do not see an 11% increase, mine is blended.

I know some of you have done analysis' about this, care to share?

See this thread regarding the increases at each resort. Keep in mind that property taxes for 2005 were underestimated at some resorts, resulting in a higher January payment (if you pay monthly).

FYI--Marriott's dues went up about the same amount of money, and, yes, they underestimated property taxes, too.
