I'm driving myself <and dh> NUTS right now!
I"m ready to check-out at Ticketmania. We will be staying 9 nights....
SO, I was going to buy the 10 day expiring Park Hopper Passes. <3 adult, 4 childrens>, then I saw the 8 day pass, and thought good I'll get them.
NOW I'm going nuts thinking, well IF I buy the 10 day non-expiring, it will cost me 735.00 more but save me 682.00 IF we go back in a few years.....

However, I don't know if we'll go back in a few years, or if I'll even still have the tickets then <losing them?>, so it makes no sense to come up with <or try to> an extra 735.00 RIGHT?????

See what I mean, it's crazy
Talk some sense INTO ME QUICK!!!!!!! :confused3

I had the same dilemma before our trip last year. I ended up with AP's ;) .

Here is my solution, go with the 10 day but don't add no expire. Even if day 9 and 10 only get used for an hour or two on travel days they are still a good deal (what is it to go from 8 day to 10?). If you are only going to have 2 days left it isn't really worth the $100 to add the no expire IMHO. If you end up with more than 2 extra days you can add on the no expire before you leave town.

I had been going back and forth about what tickets to buy too. For a while there it was a toss up between the 10 day+ that didn't expire, saving days for later, then I thought I'd just buy APs... but we've decided to buy 9 day, no hopping expiry tickets. The price difference between even a 7 and 9 day is so minimal and the difference between the AP and the 9 day is huge, not to mention dropping the hopping and non-expiry options. Next year we may be visiting CA and Disneyland, so the AP didn't make sense for us. With the new tix, I think we'll probably do one longer trip to WDW a year instead of 2 or three shorter ones like we've done the last few years.

...and then there is this to think about:

If you are subscribed to the Mousesavers Newsletter (free subscription comes once a month by email on the 15th) your family (3 adults/4 children) would pay:

8 day expiring hoppers.........$1446
9 day expiring hoppers.........$1456
10 day expiring hoppers..........$1470

10 day non-expiring hoppers....$2219
10 day premium.....................$2370

If you are really considering the 10 day non-expiring hoppers anyway...for an extra $21-$22 apiece, each ticket would also gain 5 entries into Blizzard Beach, Typhoon Lagoon, DisneyQuest, Pleasure Island and/or Wide world of Sports...if you bought the premium tickets.

I'm not saying you should upgrade, but if you really were going to come back there is no comparison price-wise. We always use the waterparks and Disneyquest as full days so we get 15 days of Disney out of each ticket...plus, we only use those tickets when WE want to. If we poop out after three days, we take a day off from the parks to enjoy the resort and don't feel guilty that we're not getting full value from our tickets.

We easily get 2 full vacations at Disney from the premium tickets...if you look at it that way you'd be spending $522 extra to gain 14 extra park days and 35 extra waterpark/DQ days.

I agree with HaleyB. With the price difference being so little between an 8-day Hopper (expiry) and a 10-day Hopper (expiry), you'd be crazy not to buy the 10-day. Ticketmania charges $233/$191 for the 8-day and $237/$195 for the 10-day. For $4 apiece, you can go into the park on both you arrival day and departure day. That's worth it in my book.
