8% Back on Disney Gift Cards...kind of sort of in a way...

I haven't seen this tip quite yet. If you buy Disney Gift Cards through Raise and link from your Shop Your Way account, you get at minimum 8% back in Shop Your Way points that you can use at Sears, Kmart, or Lands' End.

For example. I purchased five $500 gift cards through Raise using this method and I earned $200 in Shop Your Way points. I then spent the $200 in points on a fresh wardrobe/shoes/luggage for our upcoming trip.

I tend to mix my earned points with Surprise Point offers given through SYW. As another example, this morning I bought my daughter a pair of $40 Sketchers I had a Surprise Point offer in my account for $10 off in points on a $40 purchase. I essentially paid only $30 in my points I earned from gift cards to pay for these $40 Sketchers..... AND they were on sale down from $60!

Anyway, this is one way I am stretching my Disney budget this trip.

I don't know if buying Target cards on Raise and then turning around to spend the Target cards on your Disney cards using your Red card would work. This causes my head to spin. Any thoughts?

Sweet! Are there any limits on how many SYW points you can earn from raise? Other portals sometimes put lifetime limits on Raise from what's I've seen.

I am almost positive that you stop earning after you purchased 5k in gift cards. By my calculations, that would be a $400 back in points max.

No. The loophole that allowed you to get the RED card 5% discount closed a few months back, at least for gift cards.

And be aware that most Disney gift cards on Raise are Disney Store credits, which are not valid at the theme parks.

I was just getting ready to ask whether they were the ones you can use in the parks. I've always been wary of the ones sold by Raise for that very reason.

Good tip! I am buying my Disney gift cards at Sam's Club and using my discover card. They are $142 for a $150 gift card and discover cards get 5% back at Sam's Club. Score!

Oh really!? I was looking at online. Do you know when? I wonder if the discover 5% works for online purchases. Also, Sam's Club has a $500 gift card online last year but has since taken it off. Hope they bring it back that was nice.

Mine already did and there was reports of others doing so in another thread here. I believe you end up having to pay for shipping I think $1 of you order online. Discover does work on online purchases. Right now Bjs online would be the best combination to maximize your savings.

Do you have to be a member to buy online. I'm only a member of Sam's Club. How much are they on bjs?
