8 Adults in 2 BDR VILLA

I suppose it would also depend on how large the women are. The beds are plenty big if they are average size.
If the adults were 4 couples, I'd say no way. But family and all women, go for it.

I know that I tend to go overboard with this subject, but I thought our 2 BR (dedicated) at VWL for 4 people was crowded! The tiny table in the dining area only seats 4, and that is a stretch. I cannot imagine what it would be like with 8 adults!:scared1:

I'm with you on this subject, we find the 2brs anywhere to be a bit crowded for our family of 4, it was a real pain when we brought my sister(next time she comes were going to get her a studio).

No way would I stay in a 2br with 8 adults, even with a scrip for Valium.

For some it will be fine, for us it would be a nightmare. We get a two bedroom for 3-4 people and this is out limit.

Basically we don't enjoy having anyone on the sofa bed and sharing bathrooms with those.

As stated by the others, there truly is not enough seating in the living/dining area for 8 unless you stay at OKW. That is the only 2 bedroom I would even consider going over our limit of 4.

If you're using points, get on the w/l asap for a DEDICATED 2 b/r 2 Q. Your biggest problem is the pull-out in the lock-off, it's only a full size. The one in the l/r is a queen size (as are the 2 regular beds in the dedicated 2nd b/r). The sleepers themselves are quite comfortable with the new foam mattresses. Good luck! :)

I did put on my reservations we wanted a dedicated 2 bedroom..hopefully we will get it?

does a dedicated mean there will def be 2 queens size beds in the room

Unless there's some special reason you want BCV, I'd say try to make the reservation at OKW instead. There you'd have two beds in the 2nd B/R, and the LV/DR area at OKW is easily twice the size of the same area at BCV.

The OKW villas have two separate sinks in the bath areas (1 by the shower/toilet, and one outside by the jacuzzi.) Thus you'd have 3 total when you include the 2nd b/r. BCV units would only have 2 total.

At OKW you could actually sit 8 adults comfortably in the L/R at one time. (3 on sofa, 2 on love seat, 1 in soft chair, and 2 on D/R chairs.

At BCV, it's more difficult. There's only one sofa and one soft chair. The others would have to use the two kitchen bar stools, and if I recall there's some small chairs at a very small table that could be used. No matter how you look at it, it's be a tight fit. There's no way you could arrange the chairs so everyone could see the TV at the same time, for example.

We choose the BCV because we want the convenience of walking to two parks, EPCOT/Boardwalk for nightly dinners, also so we would have easy access to jellyrolls and the dance hall and everything else the boardwalk has to offer for nighttime entertainment.

OKW does sound ALOT bigger and super nice but we dont want to have to wait for a bus or boat every time we want to go somewhere.
thank you for the suggestions i appreciate it!

Well, given the amount of extra walking we have had to do when staying in the BC/BW area, and the fact that the boat is WAY slower than the buses, I'd take the buses at OKW over the extra walking and waiting for the boats. We think that area is over rated, and much prefer the convenience of OKW, not to mention the size of the units.

As for 8 adults in a 2 bedroom, I would NEVER do it at BCV, BWV, VWL, or SSR because of the cramped quarters. I doubt I would even consider it too strongly at OKW, and there is a LOT more room there, not to mention the extra queen sized bed. It just seems to me putting 8 adult women in 1 king, 1
queen, 1 queen sleep sofa, and 1 double sleep sofa plus the smaller living area and smaller bathrooms would NOT be my idea of a good time. At least at OKW you would not have to deal with the smaller pullout, but even so, it would be a recipe for trouble. If you MUST have the BW/BC area, I guess I'd do a 2 bedroom plus a studio to at least get the same number of real beds you would in the OKW 2 bedroom unit. Then only one person in each unit would have to sleep in a pullout.

After reading all of these posts, I'm glad our party of 7 is booked in a 2 bedroom at OKW. I just haven't figured out who will be sleeping where yet! It will be DH & I, my sister and brother-in-law, her 19 year old daughter and her boyfriend, and my 70 year old mother. I'm thinking we may split up the girls and the boys. Do you think that will work?

Yes, unless the 19 year old is sharing a bed with the boyfriend, then dividing by the sexes works. I would likely put BIL and Sis, grandma, and 19 year old in one room and let boyfriend have the pullout. If grandma and granddaughter can't share a bed, you might want to bring an airbed for the 19 year old. Then your only problem is keeping her from escaping to the living room during the night!;)

I had already thought about bringing an air mattress for neice's boyfriend. He has been traveling with the family for years. That would add some sleeping space for us. We might put brother-in-law or Grandma on the sleeper sofa. I guess we will figure something out once we get there.

At BCV, you need to say dedicated AND with 2 Queens. More of the dedicated 2 bedrooms there have 1 Queen and a sofa bed. You must be specific at that resort as to which kind you want.

I don't understand what you mean by "putting it on your reservation". BCV experts, please correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the dedicated 2BRs are a separate booking category, not a request. I think you have to book that particular type of room (a "dedicated 2BR, 2 queens" rather than just a "2BR") because they are completely different room categories.

Also, it appears you are not a DVC member, so how did you book this room? Did you book this through Disney CRO? I have to ask BCV experts for clarification here -- is it possible to book a BCV dedicated 2BR through CRO, or can they only be reserved with points?

sorry for the confusion...What I meant as far as "putting it on my reservation" was that when I made the reservations, I made a request for a dedicated 2 bedroom with 2 queen size beds. The CM I spoke with over the phone said to me all they could do was note that on my reservation and when I check in, the front desk will do the best they can to accomodate my specifications but there are no guarantees that we will get the dedicated 2 bedroom.

To answer your other question I booked the room through disney directly. Maybe it was because I booked almost a year in advance I got the 2BR. but as far as I was aware I thought anyone could stay at a DVC property. But I could be wrong so I would be curious to hear from BCV experts as well

The reason I asked is that while anyone can book a DVC resort through Disney, there are some room types at some of the resorts that are not available when reserving through Disney. So just in case the dedicated 2BRs at BCV are one of those "special" room types, I thought it would be a good idea to find out how you reserved your room. Now all we need is a BCV expert to tell us whether or not this changes anything!

The dedicated two bedroom with two queens in the second bedroom is reserved for DVC members staying on points. Kind of like BW view at the BWV. So you won't be getting the dedicated two bedroom with two queens and you might get a lock off. You are going to have two sleeper sofas (one queen and one double, one queen bed and one king bed). Your room is getting smaller and tighter all the time.

You'll almost certainly have a lockoff as CRO gets the "leftover" rooms.

I went with eight girlfriends to Vegas several years ago. Despite being Very Good Friends and some of us being quite small and this being an absolute budget trip, we had four rooms and eight beds for us. In addition to the bed thing, you also are talking about eight women and two bathrooms.

That really is too many people in a 2 bedroom. Last time we went with a family group we had 8 people in a 2 bedroom plus 2 different studios. A couple of times we had everyone in the 2 bedroom for a pizza/salad supper and it really was crowded - and nobody was trying to find a place to sleep, just sit down and eat comfortably.

It's just a little too close for comfort, in my opinion. YMMV.

so basically it seems everyone is saying the 2 bedroom villa is 2 small for 8 adults...

so would 2 seperate standard rooms at the BC be a better idea????? We stayed at one and it was just my fiance and I and I thought that was tight...

so in everyones opinion which is better a 2 bedrooms villa for 8 or 2 standard rooms for 8....

either way the way i look at it its still 2 bathrooms but instead of 2 rooms between all of us there are 3 with the villa!!!!!

The amount of time we are going to spend in the room I feel in going to be minimal....im so confused!!!!:confused3 we all want to stay in the EPCOT area so as awesome as OKW sounds we want the convenience and atmosphere of the epcot resort area.

Well, if the choice is 2 studios or a 2 bedroom, I'd go with the 2 bedroom, but know that both bedding, bathrooms and common area will be tight if you MUSt have BCV.
