8/6/2012 - Mickey's Alaskan Adventure

Thanks!!

I've been looking at shore excursions all afternoon... there are so many!

Sadly unless they increase the time in some ports, we will have fewer choices.
Sagway will mostly be the same as we have the most time in that port

I just got home from our 6/7-12 Dream cruise. I signed us up for this one while onboard. It will be me, Linda, the grandma, Beth, my daughter and Kayla, my diva granddaughter, who will be 10 then.

When my DD was 2, we spent 5 weeks in Anchorage with a friend from high school. They only had one car so I didn't get to see much as her DH was always working. :sad1: So, now we both (along with Kay) will get to see a little bit of the beauty of Alaska. I'm very excited!! :dance3::yay::woohoo::banana::cheer2:

We are recently back from the June 18-29 11-day Med cruise on the Magic (just flew in from Paris last night). While on board, we booked the Aug 6, 2012 Alaskan sailing, so please add us to the list. We are a family of 4: myself (44 at time of cruise), DH (45), DD (9 and turning 10 during the cruise on Aug. 10, 2012) and DS (8). This will be our first time on the Wonder. We have sailed twice now on the Magic. We live in CA, so we are excited about the easy travel to the cruise in Seattle. We love Seattle and will plan to arrive the Friday before the cruise so we can spend the weekend there prior to sailing. We had a very active cruise meet thread for the Med cruise, so I am looking forward to this meet thread. As far as the shortened port times, the explanation has to do with the fact that the 2012 Alaskan cruises are sailing out of Seattle instead of Vancouver and the need to add Victoria as a port to meet the foreign port requirement. There is a thread about this on the main cruise board, and SayHello seems to have the explanation down if you want to check it out. I, too, hope that DCL lengthens the port times in Juneau and Ketchikan, but this might not be possible. If I wasn't such a novice, I would find the thread and link it. Happy 4th of July!

Welcome Aboard :wave2:

I think this thread will be a little more quite than the med thread, Not as much interest. I hope we can liven it up a bit as we get closer to sail dates.

I have not participated in the FE on either of our two previous cruises. But I had a friend participate in the FE on our recent Med cruise and was really impressed with the imaginative and creative gifts she received. I'm thinking I might be up for trying it. Not sure if there is any interest in this for the 8/6/12 Alaska?

I did it on my last cruise in 2009, some items ran the gambit from pens and pencils to home made cd.
it works great when you have 10 to 20 families more or less and it gets hard to manage and depending on where your traveling from, takes up space in luggage.

time will tell if we have interest on this cruise

Widget is installed on my desktop... 391 days to go. It will be me (Mel), DH, DS13, DS10 & DD 9. I found this thread by searching for FE and other stateroom door decor. Looks fun! Can't wait!
