We love to snorkel and scuba - let me assure you - unless youbrin g your own gear, there is no scuba at castaway cay. I was so bummed. DD slept all night and no more sea sickness. I got up early and watched the ship pull into to the Cay. It was neat to watch the sun rise as we pulled in. It was a partly cloudy , but beautiful day. We ate a good breakfast with whole group on deck of Beach Blanket watching people go ashore. DH, DS and DD were planning 1100 parasial that we booked in advance. Turned out the reservations were no good. He had to go back onto ship to discuss with services there. Still no record even though we had excursion tickets. They rescheduled him for 300 parasail. They lost 1 hour 30 minutes walking arund like monkeys, but they did have a good time once 300 came and they did have a great time parasailing. We also bought the snorkeling , biking package, but hard to do it all and still relax. It is easier to walk on land than on the beach. We snagged a great spot under an unbrella and tree in front of the kids' climbing area. The kids loved jumping and climbing and DS loved swimming with flippers - but that mask and snorkel were too much of a challenge. DH went out on his own to snorkel. Came back and said not much to see. <I disagree with that>We lost track of time and kids missed both treasure hunts and anything with oceaneer lab. DD and I went snorkeling and searched for Mickey. For those of you who want a direct route to him - go between markers A and B. to find him. There is a hidden treasure or two down there in that new reef. Not much color, but you can find plenty of Carribean fish.
There is a huge grouper hanging out at the aft of the sunken ship. He looks like part of the boat, but he is a fish and he is about 3 or 4 feet long.
We enjoyed seeing the fish along the ropes closest to the ocean. We came back and reported our findings and were hurried out to eat lunch. Again, we got slim pickins, much like Blue Lagoon, because we waited. They had already run ot of ice cream. We should have known better. Food was dry and overheated. Finally met up with my parents who had stories of their own to tell. They had gone on the bike ride and were not too excited about it. They were hoping for something more adventurous. So, they signed up for the kayak trip. They and six others were told the trip would leave at 12. They were there at 12 and they had left without them, but they said the guy would be there any minute. They waited 1 hour and finally took it upon self to investigate. They were refunded and all given free snorkeling packages to make up for mix up. The grudge was still there. I went snorkeling agin with sister while other sat on beach and went parasailing. Saw my mother in water for first time in my life. They had a good time. We all met up at ship. Sister and I rode the Segway around the deck waiting for parasailing group to return. Was a neat thing to do. $10 a person for about 5-10 minutes. Sign up before 345 or you won't get on at all. We set sail and headed for dinner at Animator's. Was a nice meal. Everyone had plans to go see Hercules, so sister and I headed back up to Palo for dessert. We sat at bar for 20 minutes, then server from previous night, Sabucci, took our dessert order. We waited another 30 minutes and had 4 desserts and some after dinner drinks. So worth the trip and time. We met up with all at theater to watch show - excellent! Kids went to lab, parents went to bed, sister and I went to 80s night at Wave Bands- but not too impressed- no energy I think. Went back to room and got DD to go see 'premear' of Freaky Friday which showed at 1201 am. I went to bed dreaming of cappacino cheesecake and teramisu.
mmmmmmmmmmmmm I'm going to miss Palo........

I see that your children went parasailing. I thought there was an age and weight requirement. Is there one and if so what is it?

My husband bought two tickets and went twice once with each child. One son is 60 pounds and 8 years old. Daughter is 75 pounds and ten years old. I am thinking it is 8 years old and 90 lbs. Must meet both requirements to ride alone. $70 per/person (smaller room, cooler excursions)

Thanks for the info. I will be booking this excursion. My daughter is 12 1/12 but only 70 pounds. She will just have to ride with Dad. Thanks again!
