8/25 Did You See My Stroller?

I pulled a pitiful umbrella stroller out of the garage for our 1 day trip to DL yesterday, thinking it'd save time (not having to carry DD2 from parking garage into DL) and $ (now that Visa perk is only 1/2 off).

I'm tall, the stroller is short, and by the time we got through the gates I was cursing that stroller. So I decided to just pay for 2 stroller rentals and leave my umbrella stroller by the wayside.

I parked the stroller just past the right hand tunnel entrance and assumed that either someone would take it or DL staff would move it to lost & found. I tried to flag down a family w/a toddler to offer it to them but from the look the mom gave me she must have thought I was offering to take her kid (language barrier?)

I abandoned the stroller at 10am. At 7pm we walked out--and the stroller was exactly where I had left it!

We take umbrella strollers to get through the airport and gate changes.. THEN we leave them in the room.. because of the reason you just said. They are the wrong height.

Disney strollers are great and worth the money, with or without the discount. In the end..it's just a small amount to put in the budget.

Your story made me start my day with a giggle! Thanks for sharing it:goodvibes

I hear ya ~ I can't stand those *less expensive umbrella strollers ~ they look like strollers for a doll that a child would push around! I'm not super tall (not quite 5"6) but I love a tall handle stroller ~ DD's Disney stroller is a Mac Volo.

Oooh I second the volo recommendation!!! I got one for $55 SHIPPED on ebay just a couple weeks ago (stained seat, but it's really not a big stain!)

There might be some left too!

I was there but dont think I saw it lol that's quite funny that it stayed all day! My stroller didn't get moved once yesterday...it was nice! :)

oh no I just bought one at a garage sale didn't even think of the height problem. Guess I will be pushing it I am the short then DH but I'm not consider short at 5'6". Okay I paid a whole big one dollar for that price, i figured I could leave it when vacation is over or maybe not even bring it and let DD have it for her baby dolls.

Are the crowds better this week? We'll be there on the 1st and I'm wondering if I'll even be able to get a stroller through the crowds if it's as bad as it sounded last week! :confused3

Too funny! I guess that's a good thing that nobody was stealing :)

I'm probably going to be in the market for a stroller to take to Disney in December. The Graco stroller I had worked great on our last trip but the handle snapped off recently, nice. I have my jogger but at this point it's not really what I want to take-no cup holder, small basket, no snack tray for dd & it reclines so far in it's upright position I'm afraid she'll be miserable! The recline must be for people who actually jog, lol.

Sorry I don't have kids yet so maybe its not my place to comment but why would you all leave your "trash" for Disney/ your hotel to deal with?

Maybe I misunderstood, but I took it that the OP left it and assumed somebody with a small child could use it. Seems better than throwing it away. :confused3

i thought the same thing...nicer than throwing out the stroller....
we had our stroller stolen once while at disney, just think...when its free no one will take it!:rotfl2:

This is a no win situation. You leave your stroller for 7 hours at the
most central entrance with massive amount of people entering and
then get mad that someone took it - or you wonder why your "ABANDONED"
stroller was sitting there for 7 hours with no one touching it.
Maybe it was just icky LOL ;)

How was anyone to know it was free? That it was "abandoned".
Most people don't think that way, let's walk into Disneyland and see if
someone left their junk by the tunnel, where human traffic is fierce.
And maybe we can find someone's junk. Why didn't the OP just take it to
lost and found herself? I'm sure it will be given to charity after a certain amount of time.
What a waste.

Should have taken it back to the car or to lost and found. Or you should of ditched your
junk by Indian Jones or perhaps left it on the train or the train depot of any of those stroller
parking spaces. Oh well, next time. :wizard:

Oh, when you saw your stroller "exactly where I left it" did you take it home with you?
Ignore it for the castmembers to deal with it. Ewww.

I kind of agree. I understand you may have ment well but leaving it there for someone else to deal with :confused3.

Unless you clearly marked it as free how would anyone know they could take it?

Crowds were so low! I was happily surprised! They only had one security check point open on each side....no lines to get in. Mainstreet was empty! And this was at 1:30 pm! Fantasyland was a little more crowded than other areas but what's new :goodvibes

You can buy stroller handle extensions that snap onto your existing stroller! Google "stroller handle extensions" and it will pull up a bunch. I found this one at One Step Ahead:

We're tall, too, so it seems like a great idea!!! Strollers are always too short for us.

I dont think its that big of a deal that you left your stroller by the side...its not like you dumped a bunch of trash on the ground or something. It wasnt even broken. :confused3

i am opposite lol i HATE disneyland strollers, they are too tall for me, i love ther regular ones. the more $$ ones have adjustable handles too but we have a cheapie small one but is perfect for me, but im 4'11" lol

I would have just tossed the stroller. Leaving it there for others to deal with seems a bit lazy to me.

WOW This is great news!! i hope the crowds stay low for next week:banana:!
